False labor
The next day's news was the same everywhere. They all had the same to say about the previous night, the media had different headlines to the same story and it only got people shocked.
Desmond would have loved to control the narratives he was getting about the death of his daughter, but he was in a sober mood that, he didn't think souch about what the world had to say.
He didn't allow anyone come close to him, he had soany of his guards and workers place under punishment, as he began to suspect them all.
How could he have a troop of guards, yet his home was invaded, by just two thieves? He often asked himself.
He allowed his dogs outside for a long while, as they kept barking, they didn't want to stop, they too were so angry, they would only stop barkinc, if their boss comes to tell them to stop barking.
The press men and women that came around the house, to get more information, didn't pass the first gate, but from such a distance, they could hear the barking dogs, they could only imagine what they would do to any strange face they see.
Some bloggers, still found a way, to climb another tall building, close to the Desmond's estate, just to get a glimpse of what was happening in the house.
Amanda couldn't believe her ears, Tracy was dead, after she had lost her baby, she wondered what was happening, she wondered why everything was going the wrong way, she needed to see Dave, she needed to know what was going on, hoping she would just get a pass from Goodluck if she asked nicely, but she was shocked when Goodluck refused bluntly.
"Please I beg you, I really need to see him, I just need to talk to him. He lost his sister, lost his baby, and now he had lost his wife, it would be bad, if I just stay behind and act like nothing happened?
"They would think you are going to him to take back the space, they would think you still want him. Or do you still want him? He asked, as he didn't think he quite understood her anymore.
"How can you ask me such a question, you know I love you, I couldn't love you less, and I cannot trade what we have, for anything". That would have meant the world to him, but he was too scared about what she was asking of him, that he didn't bother paying so much attention to the details on what she just said.
"I cannot let you go anywhere near that house, especially now, that there is blood shed every where. That family is currently on fire, they have people planning to kill them all, they seem to have offended a lot of people, and they are being taken gradually, you shouldn't even be thinking of going there. You have called him, you have shared in his sorrow, you shouldn't be thinking of killing yourself for him, you are not Jesus". She looked angrily at him, she should have know better, she hissed, looking away. Goodluck was used to it, and he really didn't care, if she was angry, he would protect her.
Amanda didn't want to ask further, she was already feeling like she was going to go into labour anytime soon.
She felt a sharp pain down her pelvic area and she let out a scream. He rushed to her, for that was one thing he wouldn't want to see, to see her in pain.
"I need to relax"
She said, as she continued to groan in pain, she was in great pain that just laying down wasn't going to ease her pain.
"What is going on? He asked, as his fears increased.
He thought she was making it up, as that is usually her style, if she wants to get him to do something, she would act like she was on pain, but the more he thinks she was playing, the more serious she looks and the more painful sound could be heard.
Goodluck couldn't do just stay looking at him, he carried her in a bridal style straight to his car, she was rushed to the hospital. The doctor said she was having a false labour.
Amanda thought it was once and after that she was not going to feel a false labour again but she was feeling it again and this time more intense, yet the doctor said it was only a false alarm.
Goodluck sat beside her and was reading to her when he heard a knock and for the first time he stood face to face with the one man that was standing between him and his love. He didn't like his face at all. How did he even know she was admitted.
"She doesn't need disturbance"
He said and showed him to the door, but Dave ignored him and entered the room, went close to Amanda and started touching her hair. They had been separated for so long, she even looked prettier than he remembered, he watched her sleep for a while before walking out of the room to see the doctor. Goodluck didn't want to make a scene there at the hospital, he was holding himself, but already, he could feel his blood boil, he might just kill somebody.
She was still as innocent and her color was more pronounced now, it could be the effect of pregnancy on her.
When Dave met the doctor, he seriously entered the office, uninvited.
"Doctor how is my wife?
He said as he walked into the office of the doctor, the doctor was shocked because the face didn't ring a bell. Dave knew why he was staring at him that way, he didn't want to change anything, he wanted to just watch and see how sad he could make Goodluck.
Amanda woke up a minute later and saw Goodluck beside her, she was pleased with the face of the person she was seeing.
"Dave was here"
He said trying not to act like he was affected by him at all, Amanda also didn't seem affected.
"I knew he would come"
She said and Goodluck became confused. In a bit to answer her he stepped on the hospital bedspread and almost fell off.
'how did he know you were here?
He asked not able to hide his feelings anymore.
"Are you jealous?
Amanda asked trying to tease him, but he was really not in the mood, he gave her a straight look to shut it and answer him.
"I was on the phone with his mother before I started to feel pain, they sounded worried. They must have been so worried, I think I should see him right away, he needs to know that I am alright.
