He pulls her closer, as if she isn't close enough
"We have gathered here to join Maxwell Chukwu and Joy Rowland Obinna in Holy matrimony.
If anyone is here, and does not approve of this wedding, there is no need for you to come out and try to stop this wedding, because you were given enough time to come and air your views, so with that in mind, we commence.
That was something unique about Catholic church, no one can just come on the wedding day to ruin another's happiness.
There is something called bans of marriage, their intentions to get married, would be announced to their families and friends, for three times or more, so that if anyone has cobtrary view, the person can come and address the issue, but since up till the time they plan to get married, no one came, then the person would not be given the chance to say anything again.
Joy, do you take Maxwell, as your lawfully wedded husband, to love and to hold, in sickness and in health, till death do you part?
Joy looked at Maxwell, and with smile in her eyes, she answered.
"Yes I do!.
There was assurance in her answer, which brightened his heart, so when he was asked the same question, he also answered assuringly.
They were both smiling for they know what the next assignment would be.
"You may now kiss the bride".
The priest haven't even finished the statement yet, their lips was already on each other.
They kept kissing, it was almost as though they forgot they were outside.
When Joy finally realised that they seem to be doing too much, she pinched Maxwell, who was already carried away.
She turned back, to find people cheering, seeing all the people sharing in their Joy, was a sight to behold.
She was so very happy.
And just like that, the dancing began.
They danced back to their seat, while the preacher, took the microphone, and taking the initiative, he spoke to them about marriage.
They were so filled with the word of God that even the married couple, saw the other side of marriage, and felt like renewing their vows.
Amanda didn't feel like dancing, for she could feel a particular eye on her.
She pulled Goodluck aside and asked her.
"What did you tell Maxwell, when you gave him the ring, and who is the person that Douglas told you that have been caught?
Goodluck sipped his wine, and told her not to worry that it has already been taken cared of, but she would not hear of it, she wanted to know what happened.
Someone have been watching me since the beginning of this wedding, and you don't want me to worry?
Where is Douglas?
She asked him, and that was when Goodluck noticed that he was no where around him.
"Did you say someone have been watching you?
He asked, and she nodded her head as to say yes.
Where is your mother and baby Star?
They look around and found her close to the kitchen with the baby behind her, but the person that Amanda was talking about, stood behind her, and she doesn't look like she is herself, she even refused to look back at them, the person behind her, seem to be controlling her.
Amanda and Goodluck understood the drama, and started moving towards her.
"Mother, it's time to give out the gifts".
Amanda says, and within a twinkle of an eye, the person behind her vanished into thin air.
There were so many person's around, that they couldn't see any one that looked suspicious.
Mrs Chukwu looks so scared, she kept looking behind her.
"Is he gone?
She finally asked, and then she hugged her daughter.
He pointed a gun at me and told me that I should keep moving, that if I alert anyone that he would shoot the baby, I was so scared so I followed him".
She explained.
In as much as Goodluck would have loved to go after him, he doesn't know how many they are, so he just stayed back.
He made sure that his parents inlaw and Amanda were sitting close to each other, with their baby in hand, then he started calling his other guards, since Douglas was not taking his call, first he wanted to make sure that the couple get into the private jet safely, so he told the master of occasion to fasten the program.
Maxwell was also told what happened, but it did not stop him from feeling blessed, when he received his tickets to the Bahamas.
Joy didn't know what was happening, but she was so happy.
She approached Amanda, who clearly looks tensed, but have no plan of sharing details with her.
"You are my fairy Godmother, you made my wish come through, thank you".
Goodluck stood behind them, looking round for any possible danger.
Joy hugged Amanda, who smiled wearily.
"I will miss you Joy".
She tells her then she added.
The private jet is waiting".
Joy could not believe her eyes, she was so happy, the guards around, help them to the jet, and after saying their goodbyes, they left.
Maxwell was not as happy as Joy, but he didn't want to ruin her special day, by telling her what happened.
While they were flying, she had a broad smile, that she did not even notice that Maxwell had a worried look on.
"I can't believe I am traveling in a private jet, Amanda and Goodluck made my dream come through, she just wanted me to ask, and that was all I did, I asked and it came to past".
She rejoiced, but when she saw that she was the only one talking, and is not getting response she looked up at him.
He had the worried look and she saw it, when he noticed she was looking at him, he wanted to fake a smile, but she did not buy it.
"What is wrong?
She asked him, but before she could say anything, she added.
I know you miss them, but this is our wedding day you don't have to be so moody, we are going to be far away from home, but since we are together, we will be happy and I have a wedding gift for you".
She tells him with smile on her face.
"You know me too well, and yes you are right, I miss them, but I guess you are right, I cannot be moody on my wedding day".
He pulls her close and hugged her tightly.
She relaxed her head on his shoulder, then when he is sure that she is relaxed, he asked.
"Where is my gift?
He smiles, and waited for her to answer, he was thinking it's a kiss or even sex in the plane, but he was shocked when she gave him an envelope that is sealed.
He couldn't guess what it is, but when he tore it open and saw that the letterhead is that of a hospital, he started guessing.
And his guess was right.
She is pregnant.
He glared at her, and she nodded as to say yes.
He hadn't even asked the question yet, but his eyes, was asking everything in the letter.
he pulls her close to himself, it was indeed a wedding gift.
"Thank you for this wedding gift, this is the best wedding gift ever".
He tells her, and silently, they continued their journey, with the thought of a new life, a new beginning for them.
A life far away from troubles and tribulations.
He pulls her even closer, for he just could not feel that she is close enough.
Joy understands how he was feeling, so she allowed him exercise his feelings, whichever way he pleases.
Her life feels complete, with Maxwell beside her.
