Why try to kill yourself

Dave thought to himself that he could actually use Tracy to his advantage, he thought of using her to make Amanda jealous, maybe by so doing, she would tell the truth or the truth will just come out on its own.

"Dave, why did you try to kill yourself?

Tracy's question silence the room, even though he needed the room to be lively, taken the number of persons in the room, the question she asked, is not the sort of question he would want to answer at that time.

every one stared at her, like she should have known that she was asking that question at the wrong time, the situation doesn't warrant such questions, looking at how everyone stared at her, she knew she hadn't asked the right question, but she really wanted to know, and could not take it back, so she waited for the answer.

Seeing her eyes fixated on him, and her hands folded and placed on her cheek, Dave could tell that she was not going to give up, she wanted to hear the story, and she would not give up, until he tells her.

"I was depressed, but with you all around me, I think I would be fine". Dave said, and looked away, looking for nothing in particular, he didn't want to entertain anymore questions.

"Surely you will be fine, I would never allow any harm come to you from hence forth, I should have tried to keep in touch maybe you wouldn't have encountered a situation that would lead to depression to further draw you to taking your own life" She said, feeling like a saint. Dave wanted to shut her up, after all, she is not one bit better than Amanda. Dave nodded and still not meeting her gaze.

The looks and tension relaxed as the conversation was going well,  everyone in the room knew why Dave and Tracy broke up, but didn't know she would never move on, she had tried everything possible to get him back, but he wanted no other person, but Amanda, he had been so happy when she even agreed to marry him, and had gone over the moon when she became pregnant, shortly after their marriage, he wanted to show her the world, and take her places, but little did he know that the birth and death of the child would create a rift between them.

"Thank you Tracy, I appreciate" he managed to say, taking a quick look at her, and looking away almost at the same time.

As he looked away to look at his mother, he was sure this was his mother's plan, she had never liked Amanda, but was only forced to accept her, because Dave wouldn't let go, but now, the opportunity had presented itself, and he knew how his mother would explore every ounce of it to her advantage.

Tracy was likeable, it is almost impossible not to like her, she had an aura that commanded respect, her demeanor was always calm, but just by looking at her she could send shivers through your spine, she is a really dubious person, when you get to know her or have any business with her, and she could give you the world if only she wants something in return.

When Dave brought Tracy home as the woman he was dating, his mother had fallen for her in that instant, because of the material things she possessed, his mother became friends with her, and would always invite her for drinks and chats, Tracy even spent more time with his mother than with him, as she always had one story or the other to tell about her numerous trips abroad.

She is the daughter of an ambassador, she is also a real estate agent, she has lands and properties she has acquired in her name and  a man would only be considered foolish if he couldn't marry such a woman.

She is an achiever, a goal getter, but also very promiscuous. While  they were dating, she had other men she would always spend time with claiming they were only business partner, but Josh had help his friend find out how Tracy also graces their bed, he had been furious when he found out, and when he confronted her, she couldn't even deny it, she only claimed she was doing it because Dave hadn't proposed to her yet, and she didn't know where she stood with him.

Dave was so furious that he broke up with her, when his mother learnt about what had happened, instead of her to be angry with Tracy for cheating, she blamed Dave for wasting time in proposing, and making the girl his wife, she said she was an asset that would help him grow in everyway.

Dave was heart broken because he was actually in love with her, he was happy especially since his entire family member loved her, but he could never spend the rest of his life with a woman who couldn't be faithful to him while they were dating.

"She came in as soon as she heard you almost took your life, isn't that sweet?

Mrs Brown added to make everything sound nice. She even further said they would all go home with him whenever the doctor decided to discharge him.

Dave couldn't comprehend what his mother just said, and he really didn't want to think so much about it, he also needed some distraction, so he turned his head to the opposite side and closed his eyes hoping he would just be embraced by Mr sleep, but their voices could still be heard in the room distractjng him.

"Are you sure he will be fine? Tracy asked, touching him, trying to feel his temperature.

"Don't worry your sweet head my dear, he is already fine, as long as you are here with him". Mrs Brown added, and stood up walking around the hospital room, looking for nothing in particular, she was fufilled, that her dream have been achieved, she would not allow Amanda come back to Dave's life, no matter what.
