I am not moving out
Maxwell was so confused now, he had always thought something was off with Goodluck, but he didn't say anything about it, but with what he just said he sounded insane, did he forget his father was long dead and buried, or has he been seeing his father's ghost, seeing ghost was common in Africa, people always believe the spirit of their loved ones lingered around to watch and protect them from the evils of the world, so they don't end up like them in the world of the dead.
Some even believed that if a particular child is loved so much by his or her parents, the parents might want to take that child along, when they die so that they could always be with them no matter what.
"Goodluck, are you okay? Your father is dead, please if you have been seeing him, I don't want to see him.
You know, since our first meeting, I have always thought something was wrong with you, but I guess it is confirmed now". Goodluck didn't say anything, he smiles, at h, and waited for him to say some more.
"Look man, I get it, you miss your dad, I miss him too, but you have to come to terms with the fact that he is gone, and nothing can bring him back".
Goodluck smiled understanding his confusion, he hadn't told anyone what he went through after he left the hospital, but he wasn't ready to let everything out just yet, but he knew there was need to transfer his would be mother inlaw to another hospital, he has seen his father perform wonder with patients suffering from different kinds of Cancer.
"Well I know that Max, but I have another father, he was the one who adopted me after I left.
He could see his confusion again so he explained further.
"When I left, I didn't have much with me so I roamed the streets of Lagos alot, hoping to find something to do with myself. I ran into a scene, where some gang had left a man to die, he was white, they took his car, and made away with his money, and almost everything he had, he looked like he was just coming in, I copied the plate number on the car they came in with and also took the plate number of the wounded man, I called a police friend of mine who quickly started off to get them while I tried to get the man to a hospital, I visited him everyday, and when he recovered I was the first person he saw, he heard about everything from the police who had now recovered his stolen items, and had the criminals behind bars, he was so grateful he wanted to meet my parents, but when he heard my story he adopted me instead, I moved out of my apartment and moved in with him, he legally adopted me, I didn't even know he was a doctor and a very rich one at that but in a nutshell, he saved me from the troubles of this world and he made me the man I am now"
Goodluck didn't want to go further into details, but he was sure he had said enough. Maxwell couldn't believe all he just heard, but he understood better where Goodluck had gotten his Good Fortunes from, his name was surely working for him.
"So what will your father do to help my mother? He asked, trying to really comprehend all he had heard.
"Well I don't know if he can cure her cancer, but I know he can treat her better"
"What is the name of his hospital again? Maxwell asked, and Goodluck replied immediately.
"HEAVEN'S GATE hospital, does it ring a bell?
Maxwell could only open his mouth, but nothing came out, he was so shocked, It was impossible that Goodluck knew the owner, of that hospital, it was run by foreign doctors, it was the most expensive hospital in the entire federation, and there were branches in every state. Maxwell shook his head in disbelief but the look on Goodluck's face only shut him up the more, he was really serious, he had met his saviour.
"You are joking right?
"No I am not, I really don't like saying it, but I think aunty needs that help, and that is why I brought it up"
"But you know we may not be able to afford it, it would be too expensive, their test alone is worth fortune and I don't think there is hope, else we would have tried by now" Maxwell said, complaining already, but Goodluck only rolled his eyes, angered at his lack of understanding.
"I don't think you were listening Max, I said he is my father, and he loves me so much he would do anything for me, I recently moved out of his estate at the capital territory to come to Lagos, when I ran into Amanda"
"Why did you move out?
"We had a fight, he wanted me to marry the daughter of his best friend who was also a white, I refused and I left, though when he came for a conference in Lagos He invited me, and we reconciled, I have also discussed with him about this, and he said we could come in when we are ready, and... ( He paused before saying the next thing) I wish Amanda would move in with me instead, she needs to be properly looked after, and I don't think anyone will look after her at the family house, with mum getting treatments and Dad always with her or at the church, she would be bored".
They were so engrossed in their discussion they didn't notice Amanda was already awake.
Maxwell was not sure how people will take that decision, it would seem as though everything that was said about his sister was true, and no one would believe whatever she has to say.
"I don't know how the world would see or take it". Maxwell finally said.
"Who cares about what the world would say, they will always have something to say, no matter what you do.
"Amanda needs to move out, please, I am very worried for her". Before Maxwell could respond, they heard Amanda.
"I am not moving out!
