The planner
This was the moment Dave was waiting for, and he needed to make his stand, just as he was about to open his mouth to say something, Tracy and her mother walked in, he was now in a more difficult situation, he really didn't want to offend them, the Desmond family was too powerful, they mingled more with the politicians, and they were as dangerous as the politicians of the country, but how he was going to start to talk was his only problem.
"Oh come, come, come, Mathew have been waiting for a while now"
Mr Desmond said, and immediately Tracy came close she was overjoyed, she knew him, he was probably some famous man, he plans weddings, and any event and would always make it the talk of the Town, he was hired mostly by the wealthiest people because he could plan an event and make it super in just few hours, he was good and very connected that people usually cancel other appointments they must have had with other people just to make his own a reality. He had made a name for herself, even Tracy's mother looked happy to see him, it was as though Dave was the only one that wasn't as excited as the rest, but still he needed to say what he wanted to say before leaving.
"I want the wedding to be the talk of the Town"
Came Tracy's voice immediately, she sat close to Dave, she clapped her hands together, and with a huge smile, she clinged close to Dave, almost suffocating him, and hugging his hands. Now this was the time he needed to talk, if he doesn't talk now, they will also plan his wedding in his presence, and he wouldn't have a say, it was on occasions like this that he wish to have Josh with him, he could read him like a paper, and he would know he wasn't happy, but even Josh had left him last night, why didn't he take him away.
"Thank You very much Mr Desmond, but I will really like a low key wedding"
Mother and daughter exchanged glances, and they almost laughed, but for once, it felt like they used their head, knowing that if they start laughing, it would look embarrassing, but they sure looked shocked at what they just heard, and even the planner also looked shocked, if it would be a low key he may not be needed then, because he was known to plan events that were loud, the number of invited guest wasn't what makes his plans loud, they were his choice of Location, outfits, food, and virtually everything that would make the event.
"What do you mean, how can a child of this family have a low key wedding, we are no low life"
This was Mrs Desmond being herself, no wonder she failed in her role as a mother, she was always too interested in doing one thing or the other to show the society that she was able to leave the life of a poor woman to a wealthy woman almost everybody wanted to reckon with, but Mr Desmond seem to understand the young man, and told Mathew to give them some time alone, the planner left immediately, he took a walk around the garden and was amazed how people who are in power or close to those in power could acquire so much wealth.
Mrs Desmond was already fuming with anger, she could possible not take it, there was no way she could or would have a low key marriage, what would the world think.
" I really don't like what happened during the Introduction, that was just too much, you may be used to elaborate and loud events but I am not, and I am glad that I am not, if the wedding is going to be that way I am sorry I may have to leave in-between the event" Dave could tell that they were staring Daggers at him, but he didn't care, and didn't want to meet their eyes, he focused on his father in-law, who seem to be more understanding, than the ladies in the room.
Now Mrs Desmond took this to be a threat, it felt as though their daughter was the one pushing herself to this man.
Mr Desmond on the other hand only nodded in agreement trying to sound more understanding, his wife wasn't liking this at all, and she didn't want to sound harsh, even her daughter was close to tears now, she only wish that her father would be a man and put a stand to what was about to happen.
"How do you want it then?
This was the open cheque he was waiting for, though he never knew they would ask for his opinion on the plan, but now that they asked he couldn't let it slip his hands.
Though he has no plans, he was prepared to start that moment and there was no way he would make them feel he doesn't have anything planned.
He cleared his throat, before talking.
"Thank you sir, this is my wedding and I should plan it, so I want my own planner to take charge and I will pay for my wedding, th everything about the event should be my business, I hope you understand sir" feeling he had won that aspect of the argument, he smiles to himself, until the scary but calm looking man in front of him asked
"Who is your planner?
Every one stared at him, as if he was about to perform on stage, or as if he was about toake a big mistake, but Dave would not allow them to shame him.
He met their eyes one after the other, not really knowing what to say, he started by smilling, and while he was still thinking if what to say, he nodded and started.
Actually, I don't like what you all call loud occasion, the introduction for example, is supposed to be a family thing, but it turned out to be too big, so things like that, seem as if I am showing off, and I don't want to be seen like that". That was not the answer to the question, so thinking that he didn't get his question, he asked again.
"Who is your planner?
