#422 - Chapter 422: Courageous

The evil dragon slowly approached Neptune with steady steps, each one seeming to pound on the nerves of the guards.

The tension in the air tightened like an increasingly taut string. Finally, some of the guards couldn't bear it anymore.

"We can't let him get close to the King!" One of the guards gritted his teeth and shouted, thrusting his spear fiercely towards the dragon's chest.

At the same time, the other guards responded, waving their weapons and charging towards the dragon, trying to stop him from advancing further.

"For Fish-Man Island! We cannot retreat!" One of the guards roared as he charged, his voice filled with strong conviction. "General Jin An is a friend of Fish-Man Island! Evil Dragon, how dare you start a war on Fish-Man Island!!!"

However, before he could finish speaking, the evil dragon suddenly threw a punch, his arm striking the guard's head like an iron pillar.

With a 'bang,' blood and bone fragments scattered in an instant. The guard's head exploded like a watermelon, blood splattering and covering the ground.

"Hmph, Jin An?" The evil dragon sneered, a hint of contempt flashing in his eyes. His voice was cold and mocking: "What is he? Don't lump me, Evil Dragon, in with those lackeys."

He casually flicked the blood off his arm, as if he had just crushed a fly.

The guards' offensive was instantly interrupted by the evil dragon's terrifying power. Their steps faltered, their eyes filled with fear and unease.

The evil dragon's indifferent attitude made it seem like they were just insignificant little characters, not worth mentioning at all.

"Anyone who dares mention that human's name again won't leave here alive today!" The evil dragon's voice was low and cold, like a sharp dagger piercing into everyone's heart.

With his cold snort, the guards' movements froze. They involuntarily took a step back, their eyes filled with deep fear.

The evil dragon ignored their fear and continued to approach Neptune and Otohime.

Each step carried a strong sense of oppression, and the guards behind Neptune were already shrouded in fear, not daring to move forward.

Neptune's face was ashen, and the hand holding his trident trembled slightly. He knew that if things continued this way, the situation would be completely out of control.

Otohime stood beside Neptune, her eyes firm. Although she carried a hint of worry, she still maintained her usual gentleness.

The evil dragon's gaze shifted back and forth between them, and finally, a cold smile appeared on his lips. "Unity? Peace? Those two words are just a joke to me! You high and mighty people only know how to talk nicely from a safe place."

His eyes suddenly turned cold, his tone full of murderous intent: "Today, Fish-Man Island will belong to me, Evil Dragon. There will be no other choice!"

With that, the evil dragon suddenly took a step forward, his whole body lunging towards Neptune like a beast, his punch moving as swift as the wind, aimed straight at Neptune's chest.

He would use power to declare his victory and violence to seize everything that belonged to him.

A hint of a cruel smile flashed in the evil dragon's eyes as he lowered his stance, like a roaring beast, lunging towards Neptune and Otohime.

The killing intent in the air almost solidified, and every guard felt the oppressive, suffocating power. No one dared to act rashly.

"Otohime, watch out!" Neptune's face instantly turned ashen. He quickly shielded Otohime behind him, gripping his trident tightly, his eyes filled with determination.

He knew he couldn't retreat. This battle concerned the future of the entire Fish-Man Island, and he had to protect Otohime, the safety of his children, and this country!

The evil dragon's speed was extremely fast. His mountain-like body stirred up a gust of wind as he charged, his blood-red eyes staring fixedly at Neptune, as if he could tear him to pieces in the next second.

Neptune dared not be negligent in the slightest. He gripped his trident tightly and desperately met the evil dragon's attack.

He pushed off the ground with his legs, leaping up instantly. The trident drew a sharp arc, stabbing fiercely towards the evil dragon's head.

The sharp trident emitted a piercing sound as it cut through the air, as if it could cut through any obstacle in its path.

"Haaah—!"

Neptune roared, his muscles tensed to the limit. The power within his body was fully released, and he launched a counterattack against the evil dragon like a war god.

However, the evil dragon just smiled contemptuously at this. He didn't intend to dodge at all, but instead met Neptune's attack head-on.

He raised his arm, which was like steel, and waved it fiercely, using his flesh to block Neptune's full-force trident strike.

With a loud bang, the trident struck the evil dragon's arm, but was blocked completely.

Sparks flew, and Neptune's full-force strike failed to injure the evil dragon in the slightest.

He lowered his head, looking down at Neptune, who was struggling to get up, his eyes filled with extreme contempt: "King? You're nothing but this. You can't protect this country at all!"
