CHAPTER 52
I remember many times how I wanted a complete family. It's okay if the house isn't that big, as long as it's a happy and complete family. Who doesn't want that? Everybody wants that but not until my father passed away when I was still in high school. He was hit by a car and to this day, we don’t even know who hit him. It was hit and run and I’m one of the witnesses of how he fought back just to survive. He wanted to survive. He still wanted to live but the man who ran into him did not give him a chance.
If only he hadn't disappeared, we would still be whole and complete up to this day. Ria would have known her grandparents. Now, the only thing I have is insecurities that I don’t know how to remove from my system.
“Can I visit you two? I’ll take you home,” Levi gently said to me while we were having our lunch together with the whole team of the movie adaptation.
I just looked at him and shook my head. "We're not okay if that's what you wanted to know," I casually replied to him and continued eating.
As much as I wanted a complete family, my pride won’t let me do that especially when Mari suddenly arrives carrying food. Everyone looked at her until she could get close to Levi who was next to me. She suddenly kissed him on his cheek and simply looks at me.
“Rae! It’s you,” she even greeted me.
I smiled at her fakely and I couldn't stop my smirk.
"What are you doing here?" I even heard Levi ask her so I kept my ears open.
“I just want to visit you and your team. Is there a problem?" Mari answered so I was even more upset.
I didn't let myself listen to their conversation anymore and I just turned to Yerim next to me.
“Are you coming to Tierra Fima? We'll be flying tomorrow,” she told me and I immediately asked.
“I really can’t, Ye. You know my situation,” I told her lazily.
I suddenly remembered my daughter that if Levi hadn't told her something, she wouldn't have let him leave yesterday. She even asks me to bring her to her dad before I leave earlier. My god! I've been with her for a long time but why does she prefer to see it, they've only been together for a while.
“Yeah right, but why did you come here with Levi? Are you two okay?” I even heard her question so I almost choked on what I was eating.
“Long story,” I told her sparingly.
"Looks like I like that story," she said meaningfully to me and was already signaling something on my side.
When I looked at what she was referring to, I was just shaken when I saw Jaxon approaching me. I also saw Levi look at him and frown.
“Can I join you?” he asked me when he could get closer to me.
Before I could answer, Yerim suddenly left my side and turned to Jaxon.
“Just sit here, Jax. I'll just sit there on the other side,” she uttered without looking at me. I even saw her grin so I bit my lower lip so hard.
I saw how Levi focused his gaze on me. When I turned to the other side, I saw Jaxon staring at me as well.
“You look more like a leading lady, Rae. You're beautiful there,” Miss Rochelle suddenly uttered as everyone heard.
I could feel the heat all over my face especially when everyone laughed except the three of us and Mari.
Oh, gods. What did I enter?!
“Can we talk later? I’ll wait for you outside,” Jaxon said softly to me amidst everyone’s laughter.
I couldn’t look at him because I knew even Levi was looking at me. I don't know but I feel like I'm suddenly statuesque in my seat that I can't even eat anymore.
"Please, Rae..." Jaxon added so I didn't refuse.
I simply nodded at him and then continue eating even though I am very conscious of how I looked now. I can still see Levi’s gaze on me and I don’t think he intends to touch me.
“What are you doing here, Jaxon? Your department is not here,” I heard Levi suddenly say to him.
Its voice was deep as if mixed with threats. What now?!
"I came here for Astraea, not for you," Jaxon coldly said to him so I became alert.
I quickly looked at the two of them and adjusted the seating because I felt something bad was going to happen. I even saw Mari's sharp stare at me so I stared at her, too.
“I’m your boss here—”
“You’re not my boss, Levi. If you haven't been appointed as CEO, you're not here. Stop preaching yourself in front of her,” Jaxon told him, cutting him off.
I don’t know what I’m going to do between the two of them or who I’m going to split up first. It looks like these two idiots are going to fight!
“You are still my employee. You shouldn't be here!” Levi hissed to him and he finally stood up while Jaxon remained seated as if teasing his cousin even more.
I could see everyone's eyes focused on us so I stood up while shaking. I was about to hold him when Mari slap my hand so I quickly looked at her.
“What—”
"Don't you dare touch him," she told me emphatically.
Even before I could answer, I heard Levi cuss multiple times so I turned my gaze back to him. His ears and neck were starting to turn red and it seemed like in a few minutes, his patience would be exhausted so I immediately felt nervous.
“Stop acting like a kid. I’m just here to talk to her. Why do you seem to be fencing again—”
"I should because she is the mother of my child!"
My eyes almost popped out when I heard that. I dropped my jaw looking at him as I remembered that everyone had heard what he said. I felt Jaxon quickly stand by my side and hold me by the hand that didn’t escape Levi’s sight.
"You don't know what you're saying," Jaxon uttered to him which made him laugh.
I still don’t know how I will feel because of what he said. I could see the shock in everyone's eyes, especially Mari who looked at me even more.
“I know what I’m saying, fucker. You even hid her from me,” Levi firmly said to him and quickly turned to Jaxon.
I didn’t pay attention to everything because it happened so fast. I just realized that Jaxon had fallen to the floor while someone was holding Levi. I was still sitting because he accidentally hit me when he kicked Jaxon.
"Oh my God! Rae! ” I heard Yerim shout and I immediately went to me with Rafa.
"Stop it, hey!" Rafa shouted as she attended to me.
“It's all your fault why we broke up, motherfucker!” Levi shouted in a chilling tone so I was even more depressed in my mind.
Oh... here they are, broadcasting everything!
"It's your fault! You fucked up and you even broke Astraea. You really are useless!” Jaxon shouted back at him.
When I finally got up, I quickly looked for Levi’s hand and when I saw it, I immediately grabbed him. He glared at me and I could clearly see how much he was holding back his anger.
“T-that’s enough. Let’s just go...” I uttered to him, almost crying.
His expression immediately softens when he looked at me. The two guards released him and quickly wiped away my tears. He held my hand tightly and looked at Jaxon for a moment before finally pulling me away.
When we got to the parking lot, he put me in the passenger seat of his car and gently attended when he was able to enter as well.
“I’m sorry, Rae. I didn’t mean to say that in front of everyone. It’s just that...”
“He was just provoking you. Why did you hurt him?” I couldn't help but sigh at him.
I heard his violent breathing so I looked at him. His ears and neck were very red and still continued to whisper curses. His forehead furrowed and looked at me again. He stared at me for a long time before taking a deep breath.
“I’m fucking jealous. I have long wanted to do that to him. He’s a fucking traitor! And what are you two going to talk about?” he told me with no breaks so I almost laughed.
“We will just talk about what he did. Maybe he just wants to explain and I also want to hear it,” I replied to him and fastened my seat belt.
Because of his jealousy, everyone knew that we both had a child. This man is really naughty anytime.
He started the engine while still furious about what happened. He placed his elbow on his car window and placed his hand on his chin. His forehead was still furrowed as he looked straight at the road.
"Stop seeing him, Rae, I'm telling you," he threatened me so I raised an eyebrow.
“Don’t tell me what to do. You're not my boyfriend—”
“I can be your boyfriend or even your husband. Don’t dare me, Astraea,” he said in his baritone voice so I was just shaken.
I looked outside the window and noticed where we were going.
"You can't take me back to you again, Levi so don't hope — wait, where are we going?" I immediately asked him when I noticed the road we were on was familiar.
I turned to him and waited for the answer but I only saw his strange grin. He tilted his head to look at me for a moment. Before he turned his gaze back to the road, he looked down at me to my chest so my forehead turned away.
He bit his lower lip and looked back at the road.
"I'll take you and our daughter to our house. They want to meet Asteria... and you,” he said softly to me so I became alert.
"What? No way. I will go home alone and you will not take us to your house!” I commanded him but he didn't even pay attention to me.
He nodded while still smiling so I was even more bored.
“Sure, you can go home as long as you want. But I will make sure you’ll come back to me while begging to be enslaved by my arms,” he said seductively to me and gave me a meaningful look.
Oh really?
