CHAPTER 62

Levi's father — Uncle Saldy doesn't want me for his son. That’s what I understood when I first heard that. Confused, I went back to Ria’s room at that time. Levi asked me several times what had happened but I never told him. He didn't have to know. I don't want them to have a misunderstanding again.

“How is Ria? I will donate blood for her. I’m AB negative, Rae,” Yerim greeted me when they arrived at the hospital.

“I will take a test if we have the same tissue so that I can donate bone marrow. We are not of the same blood type. I'm sorry, Rae,” Rafa said.

I just nodded to the two of them and then guided them to enter. Ria's room is still upstairs so we still need the elevator.

"It's fine. Thank you,” I answered them reluctantly as we waited for the elevator.

I looked lazily at my cell phone when it rang. Text from Jaxon.

Jaxon

I’ll be donating my blood to Lorraine. I’m on my way there

I didn't bother to reply to that because I really had no appetite. I don’t know what the reason is. We didn’t even finish talking that night ‘cause Aunt Criselda suddenly came who I think didn’t even know. It’s just amazing that Jaxon knows about it but those close to him don’t.

“Are you okay, Rae? Levi told us that you hadn’t rested yet, something might happen to you,” Yerim suddenly uttered when we entered the lift.

I heaved a sigh then I rested my head on the elevator’s wall.

"His dad doesn't like me. He only wants my daughter,” I told them nothing of myself.

"What? Who told you that?" Rafael shouted. I heard Yerim swearing.

“Are you serious? You said they were all nice to you,” Yerim asked me in disbelief so I laughed.

I hope it's true.

I was just shaken when the elevator opened and we all got out. I can still feel my anger welling up.

“I accidentally overheard everything. He was the one who crashed into Papa then and was left to die,” I told them angrily while still crossing the road to Ria's room.

Levi's with her now. I just went down for a while to pick them up. Asteria almost doesn't want to be separated from her daddy so he can't go to work either. We still haven't been home for a while so I just sent clothes to these two as well as Levi's. Good thing because he already has a few clothes in my condo unit

“And? What's the connection? Why doesn't he like you? Is he still the one who decided for his son?” Yerim asked me an annoying question so I almost laughed.

Before we finally entered the room, I confronted them both. I lazily looked at them and sighed deeply.

“Levi doesn't know yet. Just don't tell him. I don’t want him to know,” I begged them.

I saw Rafa's frown so I knew very well when she objected.

“He should know, Rae. That’s his dad, what do you want? While loving his son, he's insulting your whole personality? He is the one who killed your dad though. If I were you, reopen Tito Apollo’s case again,” she suggested.

I suddenly thought. Until we get in, that’s what I think. I notice Levi’s stare at me so as much as possible, I keep my neutral but he knows something, I can feel it. Especially when he suddenly got up from Ria’s bed and approached me quietly eating.

“Are you alright? Do you want to go outside for a moment?” he asked me so my forehead furrowed.

"Why come out?" I laughed questioning him.

He smiled meaningfully at me and then stepped aside. He took bottled water and drank. I could see the slow-motion movement of his Adam’s apple so I bit my lower lip. I somehow miss him. I do not know why. We are always together but lately, I miss him so much.

“I just want you to rest for a bit. We haven't been home since we came from Tierra Fima. I don’t want you to be sick,” he answered me softly so I just nodded. I think differently. You're funny, Rae.

"I'm fine. We still need to find a bone marrow donor for Ria's surgery. I can't rest until she's well, Levi,” I told him lazily and glanced at my daughter for a moment.

It is currently being watched while Yerim and Rafa are beside her. Fortunately, she was getting stronger because she had received several bags of blood transfusions. Once a bone marrow donor is found, she will be operated on. Even though I knew she would recover from this surgery, I still couldn’t help but worry. Maybe her body can't handle it. I can't take it.

“She will be okay too, Love. I will do everything I can. I am already testing bone marrow tissue and the result will definitely come out later. For now, we need to go home and rest first,” he insisted to me.

He even tilted his head to look at me. He quickly reached for my hands to hold them tightly so I just smiled and nodded. No matter what I do, I will not win against this man.

When we finished eating, we said goodbye to Yerim and Rafa. We left Ria sound asleep. Fortunately, the two had no work so they agreed to watch her for a while.

As we walked to the elevator, Tito Saldy greeted us with Tita Criselda, Jaxon, Acel, Celine, Maxim, and Mari. My eyebrows rose as I focused my gaze on her. She mocked me so I stared at her. Why is she here?

“Rae, oh my god. We will do the test tissue today to see if we’re a match for Asteria. I’m so sorry,” Celine greeted me and hugged me.

“We'll go home first, ma, Pa. Just need rest,” I heard Levi say to his parents.

“Is she awake? I wanted to take Zick with me but his grandmother didn't agree, she wanted to see him, eh.” It was Acel.

“She was asleep when we left. It's okay, they'll play again when she's good. It’s not safe here,” I replied to her as I noticed Jaxon’s stare at me.

When I turned my gaze to Levi, I saw him looking at Mari who suddenly approached him and hugged him. I raised an eyebrow when I saw him intentionally bump her chest into his arm. This woman is really annoying.

"I am sorry to hear this bad news, Lev. I'll donate blood, don't worry. We have the same blood type,” she said artfully to him but my attention was no longer focused on that but on Jaxon who came over and hugged me tightly.

"I'm sorry, Rae. I just found out just now so I immediately rushed here,” he whispered to me as he hugged me. I could still feel him caressing my back.

“It’s okay, Jax. She was also looking for you,” I told him as he pulled me away but he still held my hand.

“Rest, please. You don't look good. Take care of yourself,” he told me softly so I just nodded.

Before I could answer, I could feel Levi pulling me away from him to everyone's surprise. I just bit my lower lip so hard because of what he did. There’s really no holding back!

“You don’t need to remind her that. I’m here to take care of her,” he said emphatically to his cousin in a tone that was ready to fight.

I just got a facepalm. I heard Celine smile especially Maxim by my side.
