Chapter 5
Audrey
I roll off Spencer and look around the room he brought me into. There’s a large collection of movies, as well as a big-screen TV that makes me think the owner might work in movies.
Feeling decidedly exposed, I smile at Spencer lying buck naked on the sofa and gesture to the kitchen. “Clothes are in order I think.”
He just laces his fingers behind his head and grins. “Why? I just plan on ripping them off you again anyway.”
I snort a laugh. “Well, until then, this is someone’s house and we’ve messed up a lot of it. The least we can do is not, um, leave more DNA.”
Considering he’s supposed to be working here, Spencer seems completely undaunted by what we’ve done.
It also makes me wonder if this is a regular thing for him. A moment of doubt washes through me and I suddenly see I’ve possibly let my guard down a little more than I intended to.
Without a word, I return to the kitchen and find my clothes. I’m pulling my shirt over my head when Spencer ambles into the kitchen.
He puts his arms around my waist and kisses my neck. “Want to take a swim?”
I glance out the glass door at the pool outside and note how dark it is now.
Given the time of year, it must be well after eleven, and I’m starting to get tired. “What about a jacuzzi? Then bed. To sleep.”
Spencer grins and slides his hands to my bare ass. “Jacuzzi sounds good. I’ll go take the top off and find us some towels.”
I know I should be more concerned about this. But it’s quite possibly the naughtiest thing I’ve done in my adult life.
Sexually speaking, he’s incredible. Whoever he is outside of this island is now irrelevant, on this island he’s exactly what I need him to be.
And as long as he’s happy to end things here and leave it at a weekend fling, everything should work out just fine.

Spencer
Sunday 6.12am
My hard cock is pressed against Audrey’s back as I open my eyes to the first signs of morning.
I shift my weight and she moans softly and sounds sleepy. “What time is it?”
I press a kiss to her bare shoulder before I ease away from her warm body. “Early. Go back to sleep.”
She murmurs and doesn’t move as I grab a robe and pull it on. Before I use the bathroom, I check my phone and see that Mike has been trying to get hold of me.
There’s a series of increasingly pissed off sounding text messages and a bunch of missed phone calls.
I tap out a text, telling him I’m staying for a while and head into the bathroom.
My eyes on my reflection in the mirror, I smile as I take a leak and think about what to make Audrey for breakfast.
I finish up, and head back into the kitchen and make a pot of coffee and find everything I need to make her a passably good breakfast.
When I’m ready and the coffee is brewing, I head back into the bedroom to see if she wants to eat in bed or on the beach.
I stop halfway to the bedroom and catch the sound of the shower running. Rather than go join her, I decide to make the most of the pool and the privacy and head back outside.
It’s already warm outside, so I toss the robe onto a lounge chair, and dive into the water.
I swim a few laps, thinking about what else I need to take care of when I see Audrey standing at the edge.
She’s wearing a robe and looking like she wants to join me. Either that or I wasn’t the only one to wake up horny.
I haul myself out of the water and enjoy how her eyes are roaming over my body.
I grab the robe and pull it on while she sends me coy glances that let me know exactly where her mind is at.
“You made breakfast?” she says.
I nod. “You want to eat?”
She smiles. “I do. I’m starving.”
I slide my hand around her waist. “Want to eat on the beach?”
Her entire face lights up as she laces her fingers around my neck. “You really have all the moves, don’t you?” she says.
I chuckle and pull her closer. “This weekend I do,” I say as I kiss her.
At the way she moans, any hunger I had for food is replaced by an entirely different kind of hunger.
I pick her up, and carry her inside, kissing her as much as I can before I lay her down on the unmade bed.
She pulls the tie at her waist letting me see her incredible body.
I take a few minutes to enjoy the view, eyes drifting from her tits, her flat stomach, the curve of her hips and the v of her pussy.
A rumble comes from my throat as I look at her. “You’re the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen.”
She smiles but her eyes are on my now rock-hard cock. “He would agree it seems.”
I chuckle and as she wriggles out of her robe, I tug mine off and slide to my knees and look up at her as I thrust my tongue inside her pussy.
She groans loudly as I start to lick her clit, thoroughly enjoying myself as she wriggles in pleasure.
When I can feel her quivering, and hear her breaths coming in faster, I slide a finger inside her wetness.
I get a tremendous kick out of it when she spreads her legs wider as she watches her reflection in the mirror above us. “Pinch my nipples,” she gasps.
I do as she says and snake my hands up her body as I can rub and pinch her already hard nipples.
Her mouth opens wide, her eyes shut, and her face contorts in pleasure as she gets closer to an orgasm.
Jizz now covering my tip I keep licking, refusing to move even after she’s stopped screaming.
She tries to close her legs, but I keep licking until she’s grabbing my head and I can feel her explode in my mouth.
When she’s stilled, she looks down at me and licks her lips. “Get on your back,” she says.
With a smile I climb up on the bed, and just have time to flop on my back before she near inhales my cock, sucking so deep and so hard, I know I’m going to blow my load.
I start to protest, but when I look up and get an aerial shot of an incredibly hot brunette going down on me with gusto, I know I have no chance of not coming.
She keeps sucking, using her tongue to massage my tip, and sucking my jizz until I’m starting to shake.
A climax explodes through my shaft, resounding through my body shattering my thoughts and turning my brain to mush.
As she lies down beside me, and I see our reflection on the ceiling above us, I grin.
“What?” she says.
I shrug. “Nothing. Just making a mental note to thank Beth for bringing you last night,” I say.
“I should probably go check on her.”
When she leans over and presses a kiss to my lips, I reach over and grab the back of her neck and hold her in place. “Stay here. I just need thirty minutes and I’ll be good to go.”
But she just wrinkles her nose. “Or you go get breakfast and bring it back to bed.”

With a smile on my face, and a slightly aching jaw, I roll out of bed, and find myself grinning stupidly.
Since I haven’t checked my messages since we arrived here, I locate my bag, and my phone.
Sure enough, I’ve missed a bunch of calls, most from Beth, and I don’t want her to worry, so I send her a quick text so she knows I’m okay.
Considering I’m doing the exact same thing she is and spending the weekend with a man I barely know; I’m going to have to be very careful about what I say.
I lean my hip against the counter and watch Spencer dice some fruit.
“Does the owner always keep the fridge fully stocked?”
He shakes his head. “He went away last minute. One of the reasons I doubt he’d mind if I ate it.”
I nod and step in front of the counter so I can help. “Are you going to tell me who he is?”
Spencer looks up from chopping pineapple and grins. “Nope. I’m sworn to secrecy.”
I mock pout at him. “That’s not what you said before.”
He laughs then tosses a grape in his mouth. “Yeah. Sorry. No can do. The less you know the better.”
A warning sparks in my middle and it’s impossible not to pry a little more. “Why are you planning on committing a crime?”
His smile slips before he shakes his head. “Only thing I’m planning on doing is making you scream again.”
Heat rushes to my cheeks and I have to remind myself we need sustenance.
“Well, play your cards right and you will,” I say.
He piles fruit into two bowls before he leans forward and grabs my t-shirt.
He pulls me closer, and there’s enough heat between us to make me think food isn’t all that important.
But his smile is a tease even though there’s truth in his words. “All my cards are right where you can see them.”
I swallow hard, wishing I could say the same. Rather than admit mine aren’t, I kiss him softly. “Back to bed. Time’s a ticking.”
He releases my shirt and starts to pack up everything onto a tray. “Grab some wine,” he says.
Even though it’s ridiculously early, I do as he asks and find a bottle of Dry Prosecco from the spotless refrigerator.
Whoever the owner is, he has incredible taste in food and wine.
But the more I watch Spencer in the kitchen, the more I wonder what it is he’s supposed to be doing here.
Granted we’ve been busy having hot sex a lot of the time, but that begs the question, what else was he supposed to do while he was here?
I’m about to ask him when I hear a buzzing sound coming from behind me. Spencer connects it before I do, and points to my bag. “Your phone, I think?”
He just smiles when I give him an apologetic smile and grab my cell. “Sorry, it’s probably Beth. I’ll just be a minute.”
“You have thirty-ish,” he says with a grin.
Beth doesn’t even give me a chance to say hello before she speaks. “Where have you been?”
I flinch as guilt swirls inside me. “Is everything okay?”
She sniffs. “No. It’s not. Gary just called. He’s in Miami and he wants to meet me.”
Oh shit! No wonder she sounds upset.
I slump onto the chair closest and rub my hand over my face. “Why is he in Miami?”
Her voice comes out choked. “He’s here for training. Has been for the last week.”
I wince. “How did Gary know you were here too?”
She groans. “He saw the pictures I posted on Facebook.”
At least that makes sense. Gary’s probably surprised Beth’s out partying. But if he’s here that means Beth could easily start things back up with him.
“Are you back at the resort?”
She blows her nose before answering. “Yes.”
I blow out a breath because I know where this is heading. “He asked you for a divorce, Beth, you aren’t obligated to see him.”
“I know I should hate him. But I still love him.”
When I sigh, her voice comes out small. “Where are you? I need someone to remind me why I shouldn’t meet with him. He knows where we’re staying, he said he’s going to come by this morning.”
I close my eyes as the words slip out.
“If he calls don’t answer it. I’ll be there as soon as I can,” I say.

I know something is wrong from the look on her face, but I’m not expecting the next words out of her mouth. “I’m going to need to leave. Beth’s ex-husband is in town.”
I frown and see all my best-laid plans flying swiftly out the window. “Why?”
She shakes her head. “He hurt her, and I think he wants her back.”
I scratch my nose and get to my feet. “If she wants to see him, she’ll make it happen. You leaving here isn’t going to stop that.”
I can almost see her processing that, but it doesn’t deter her. “I came to help her work through this, what kind of a person would I be if I didn’t try?”
My feet edge closer to her as I try to make sound lighter than it is. “So, talk her through it. You don’t have to leave to do that.”
She doesn’t say anything, so I go all in. “You could even stay here another night. This doesn’t have to end.”
Her lips part and she stare at me, then at the bed behind me. For a second I think I’ve convinced her, but she just shakes her head. “I’m sorry. I know how she gets with him and he’s planning on seeing her at the resort, I need to be there to intercept him.”
When she gives me an apologetic smile, I know this little fantasy is coming to an end.
“Okay. I’ll clear up, and we’ll head right back,” I hear myself saying.
Any hope I had of stalling and maybe taking her back to the waterfall disappears as she starts packing up her clothes.
With nothing else to do but accept this is over, I amble back towards the beach.
As I connect the fuel pump and wrench a nut tight, a deep ache is building in my chest.
It shouldn’t be but saying goodbye is going to be harder than I’d anticipated.

After an uneventful boat ride, where I was more concerned about getting to Beth than falling in, Spencer and I arrive back at the resort before it’s even nine am.
In the rush to get here, we didn’t eat, so when Spencer finds a parking space my stomach is growling angrily.
I move to tell Spencer I’ll call him later but he’s already unbuckling his seatbelt.
Considering the circumstance and knowing Beth will be waiting anxiously, I don’t think there’s any way I can avoid them meeting.
He doesn’t seem bothered, if anything he looks just as relaxed as he did on the island.
Considering the speed in which we left, and that he hasn’t showered, it’s cosmic injustice that he looks like a gorgeous beach bum, while I look like I rolled out of bed after a hard night.
Just like in the nightclub there’s something magnetic about him. The receptionist even gives him a coy smile as we walk past her.
Despite feeling bad, before we reach the elevators I grab his arm, and hope I don’t sound harsh. “You don’t have to come up to my room again.”
Spencer just smiles, but there’s a tightness to it that makes me know he’s perfectly aware I’m trying to brush him off.
But like he’s unused to women rejecting him, he just shrugs and amps up the charm factor. “Any chance you’ll invite me to spend the rest of the day here with you?” he says.
I’m readying a response when I catch sight of Beth’s ex, dressed in his police uniform heading our way.
I pivot on my heel and make sure my back is to him. “Damn it,” I mutter. “He’s here already.”
Spencer turns and follows my gaze. His shoulders stiffen and he snaps his head around and his entire demeanor changes.
He looks at me, and for a moment I think I see a flash of fear on his face.
“On second thought, better leave you girls to it,” he says.
Before I can say a word, he leans in to whisper in my ear. “I put my number on your phone. You call me and we’ll make this happen again before you leave.”
I open my mouth to say I’m not going to sleep with him again before tomorrow, but he’s already walking in the opposite direction.
As luck would have it, Gary answers his phone as he walks towards me, so he’s distracted enough for me to duck in front of a large palm in a pot without him noticing me.
He’s nearly reached the elevator, still talking quietly on his phone as I manage to get into an elevator before him.
Luckily, a very large woman and her even larger husband take the one going up, forcing Gary to take the next one.
Nearly wedged into the wall, I have a little more time to think about Spencer’s bizarre behavior.
In naught to ten seconds he’s gone from wanting to meet Beth, to wanting to have sex with me one last time, to fleeing as though he’s a criminal.
In one horrific second, I realize he probably is one.
I knew he was lying, but I never guessed it was because he was in trouble with the law.
But it makes sense. The bartending, the boat, the sketchy guy I saw him talking to at the marina, and the way he never told me what his job was on the island.
He could have been doing anything and I was so busy having the fun he promised, I was oblivious.
I flinch as the elevator doors open and feel the effects of an incredible few days ebbing away.
But I can’t think about that right now. Beth needs me. And I need to try to put this weekend behind me.
I have no time to go to my own room to change or to think about what he might have been doing, or why, before I’m knocking on Beth’s door.
Her voice sounds hesitant as she calls out. “Who is it?”
“Me. And Gary is about one minute behind me,” I reply.
She opens the door, and ushers me in. “Thank God you’re here,” she says.
I nod and ignore the curious expression on her face as she looks at me. “Where on earth have you been?”
I swallow hard, and we both tense as Gary knocks on the door. “Beth? Can I come in?”
Beth takes a breath. “We’ll talk about where you’ve been later,” she says.
I nod, no longer concerned about telling her about my dirty weekend, but more worried about being implicated in a crime.
Beth opens the door and Gary steps through the door, smiling, and an expectant look on his face.
He looks the same as the last time I saw him, pleasant face, he’s still in shape, and even I can see he’d attract a lot of female attention in his uniform.
His eyes find mine, and his smile falters. “Ah, Audrey. Was that you I saw at the elevators?”
Luckily, Beth has a response at the ready. “We had plans for breakfast. Sorry, I completely forgot.”
Gary nods placidly and even manages a smile though he must be disappointed. “Nice you’re getting a break. I heard you quit your job at Wells Fargo?”
I force a smile and have to hide my hands in case he sees I’m shaking. “Dad’s running for senate. I’ll be working as his digital editor instead.”
Gary's eyebrows rise. “Keeping it in the family, huh?”
I wince inwardly because I know how it sounds. And I especially hate telling people, because I have zero interest in politics, and it’s a constant reminder that because my father has as many enemies as friends, I can’t even keep a real job as a bank teller.
Beth looks infinitely pleased we’re now talking about my father and not her or what she’s been doing; so for her sake, I carry on a conversion about local politics before Gary finally gets the hint and stands up ready to leave.
“Well, nice to see you both,” he says.
I find a more genuine smile as I say goodbye. He’s not a bad guy, just a little clueless as to how much Beth needed him to prioritize her over his job.
Beth holds it together and even manages to wish him well before she firmly closes the door on his hopeful face.
She leans against the door and closes her eyes. “He looked so good in his uniform,” Beth groans.
I fake another smile. “But he’s still married to his job,” I remind her.
She blows out a breath and sinks on to her bed. “I know. But he’s still the nicest man I’ve ever met, and seriously after last night with Costas, who was all thumbs in the sack, and seriously underwhelming, I’m struggling to remember what great sex feels like.”
I sink into the bed beside her and decide now is not the time to mention I just spent the weekend having incredible orgasms and with who. “Sex isn’t everything,” I say.
She snorts and shakes her head. “We were together for fifteen years, Auds. And no man has ever lived up to him, in or out of the bedroom.”
I know where this is heading. The same place it always heads when she sees him.
More heartbreaking than knowing my cousin is still hung up on him even after the divorce has been made final, is knowing that Gary obviously has feelings for her too.
“You gave him multiple chances to change. And he didn’t,” I say.
She blows out a breath and looks so crumpled, I wrap my arm around her shoulders. “Let’s get some breakfast then go get a massage or something.”
She sniffs. “Okay. And sorry again for ditching you last night. But don’t worry, I have zero interest in going out tonight.”
I nod and continue to wonder how the hell I’m going to hide the monumental mistake I’ve made from my father.
While a miserable Beth was trying to move on from Gary, I’ve managed to spend the most incredible weekend of my life with a man who is most definitely not someone my father would approve of.
As I reassure Beth this is just a bump in the road, and she’ll get over him eventually, I have to wonder if that’s even true.
For her and for me.
Either way, it doesn’t matter.
Because come tomorrow morning, I will never, ever see be able to see Spencer again.
