Chapter 18 Illness
Creed POV
I'm in front of Rizden now who is still unconscious, I've been waiting for her to wake up but she still doesn't wake up.
"Mr. Vaughn." I turned around to the one who call me, It's Rizden's doctor who had examined her earlier. He was the Doctor sent before him.
"Our finding about her illness has come out." He said and it was obvious on his face that it wasn't good.
"Based on the result, chemotherapy can no longer stop the cancer cells from spreading in her blood. As for the lump in her breast, it is also breast cancer. The patient's body is too weak." I look at Rizden.
"Her eyesight has also been affected. The cancer cell in her is not a joke, it can affect her other organs."
"I-is there really nothing left ... to cure her illness?" I asked. He took a deep breath and shook.
"I'm so sorry Mr. Vaughn ... All you can do is to spent her remaining time." I suddenly clenched my fist at what I heard.
I closed my eyes and held back my tears.
"H-how many years will she live?" I asked and looked at the doctor. I shake my head and take a deep breath.
"2." He replied.
"2 years?" I asked.
"2 days." He said so I was stunned.
"What? We're too--"
"Mr. Vaughn ... As I said, all we can do is make the most of the time left for her." He said so I swallowed and looked at Rizden. My tears kept flowing as I looked at Rizden.
"I'll leave you first." I didn't look at the doctor, instead I slowly approached Rizden and took her left hand and kissed it.
The deceit .... The deceit the deceit .... I haven't even admitted to you that I love you, now your life is fixed? Why? Why are those people's lives so short?
"C-creed?" I smiled as I saw Rizden slowly open her eyes.
"I'm here." I said and smiled.
"C-creed .... Creed I don't see anything ... Where are you?" I stopped at what she said.
"Creed ...." I felt the tightness of her grip on my hands.
"Shh I'm just here next to you Rizden." I said and refrained from crouching.
"Creed why can't I see you?" I saw how tears flowed in her eyes. I wanted to scream in anger when I saw her tears flow. When I faint when I see her crying.
I hugged her tightly as she called my name.
"Creed ...."
"I'm just here." I whispered.
"I'm ..... I'm sorry." I smiled and shook my head.
"It's okay."
"I'm sorry .... I lied." I looked at her and I could see the pain on her face, the sadness in her eyes.
"I-I don't know how to tell you ... I don't know."
"I understand you." I whispered.
"You.-- You said you don't want everyone to be sick and get sick." She says crying.
"I'm sorry." I whispered.
"I'm afraid to tell you because you might fire me, I don't know where my brother will pick us up when you fire me." She cried.
"I'm sorry." I whispered again.
"You shouldn't have said that." She added.
"No, I'm sorry because I should have told you I'm sick." She says crying.
I wiped the tears from her cheeks.
"Will I recover right?" I was stunned by her question.
"Everything will return to normal ... I can see you again, can't I?" I refrain from making a noise as I cry in front of her.
"Creed you answered."
"Y-yes." I couldn't help but crouch. I saw how the smile drew on her lips, a sarcastic smile.
"Liar." She said with a smile and her tears kept flowing.
"L-last time I went to my doctor .... He said .... I will only be in this world for two weeks." It was as if my heart was being crushed by what I heard.
How is a mortal woman like her able to fight a disease like this?
Mentally and physically the pain she has but she is still able to fight.
"How many ... days will it take me?" She asked.
I did not answer her.
"Do you know ... Fin is thanking you today for what you did to save his wife." I changed.
"Answer me." I feel sadness with every word she utters.
I bent down and took her two hands then kissed them.
"Take me home." She said weakly while turning stupid.
It hurts so much for me to see her like that. It hurts so much for me that she can't see me now. It was so painful for me that it was probably time for me to know she would be with me.
Why? Why are people's lives so short?
