Chapter 14
Hunter POV
Even though I tried to escape, I couldn't. I still can't get out of the shackles no matter how many times I try, the shackles on me are so tight that they seem to make sure I can't escape.
I can't forgive Aiden when something bad happened to Linnea or if he did something bad to her.
I still haven't lost hope, it's necessary to get out of here to save Linnea from Aiden's hands. And when I tried it again, that's the time I succeeded. I walked quickly closer to the door to get out. I did it slowly so that Aiden's men couldn't see me, fortunately it was midnight so I was sure they were asleep.
I looked for where he had taken Linnea, I needed to find her and get her out of this place, Aiden shouldn’t have implicated her in whatever we had a misunderstanding. I need to make sure that she is safe.
Exactly when I saw a room and I planned to open it when it suddenly opened and Linnea spat, I quickly approached her and hugged her tightly. I could still hear her faint sob.
"Are you okay? Did Aiden do something to you?" I asked, but she did not answer.
I didn't force her and pulled her closer so we could get out of that place but I just wondered why there seemed to be no guards here and Aiden wasn't there either. It’s impossible that he would just let us escape like this or that he really meant to drive us away.
Linnea and I almost went for a walk and since I didn't have my phone so I couldn't call my men to pick me up, as far away as we were I could breathe easily. Later, a taxi passed by, so I stopped it and we boarded.
We quickly got home, I ordered one of my maids to accompany Linnea to the bedroom and bring her something to eat. Since we left the place where Aiden took us, she didn't say a word so I just let her rest.
I went straight to my office here at home and called my secretary to let him know what had happened. He is my trusted person so now he knows what he will do in this matter. We also talked for almost an hour before he said goodbye.
I was in the middle of thinking when one of my men suddenly entered. "Sir, about Ma'am Linnea." she opened up to me.
I immediately stood up. "Why? What happened?" I ask her.
"After she took a bath earlier, I brought her food but after she finished eating she started crying. I don't know what to do so I came here to let you know." she explained.
I sighed. "I'll take care of her, you can rest now." I ordered her to go to Linnea.
When I entered my room, she was lying down while the comforter was wrapped around her body. "The maid told me what happened. Don't even think about it. Get some rest first." I said. I was about to go to the bathroom when she took my hand.
"D-don't l-leave me," she stammered.
I sat down on her side again. "I will never leave you Linnea, just rest and I'm just here." I reassure her.
She stared at me for a long time before finally going back to bed. I waited for her to sleep completely before getting up to take a shower.
"I will make sure that Aiden will pay big time for whatever he did to Linnea. I will not forgive him.- I whispered to myself before finally entering the bathroom.
Linnea POV
The next day I woke up because of the sunlight hitting my face. I forgot to close the window last night.
I got up and fixed the curtain in the window because Hunter was still asleep knowing if he was also tired from what happened so I would close this curtain first so that he wouldn't wake up early.
After doing that I went down to get breakfast, I'll just bring food to Hunter later so he can eat. As I descended, I caught up with the maid who was setting the dining table.
"Good morning Ma'am Linnea, you're awake. Is Sir still asleep? If yes, you can eat first because the food is ready.”
"You're right Linnea, that boy will definitely be awake later." the old woman seconded who seems to have served Hunter for a long time.
"Come and join me guys." I said to them, smiling. I saw that they were looking at each other and shaking their heads at the same time.
"If you think Hunter might get angry don't worry because I'll take care of him." I said.
"It's not like that Ma’am, Sir won't be angry because we often eat with him also. We're just not used to you being with us." one of the maids said.
I laughed. "I thought that's what it is. Please come and join me so I won’t be eating alone since Hunter is still sleeping,” after a second they all agreed.
We talked a lot more that I didn't realize that we had been at the dining table for almost the same hour and just chatting. Then when I finished eating I asked them to fix Hunter's breakfast because I would just take it to the bedroom.
