Chapter 2 Divorce That Man
Although there were a lot of doubts in his heart, as a responsible assistant, Rowan had to bite the bullet and remind: "Mr Gregory, the meeting time agreed with Mr. Davis is coming up, we need to get there as soon as possible."
Leo Davis was the CEO of an Internet of Things company, and the two parties were in talks to cooperate.
Afraid that the man was still unmoved, Rowan nudged him.
Gregory finally came to his senses. He hid the heat in his eyes and followed the directions his assistant gave him to the private room.
At the door of the private room, Gregory said to Rowan, "I want all of her information over the years."
Rowan naturally knew who the boss was talking about. Having been with the boss for more than four years, he knew very well how obsessed the boss was with that woman.
Aurora had no idea she was being targeted.
After leaving the restaurant, Ulani wanted to find her father, and Aurora agreed.
Aurora brought Ulani to the law firm where Silas worked.
Silas was a commercial litigator with one of the largest international law firms in the world.
It was afternoon tea time.
Silas just finished reading a dossier.
Ulani jumped into his arms happily, "Daddy, did you miss me?"
A little smile appeared in Silas' eyes: "Did Ulani miss Daddy?"
Ulani crawled on Silas naughty and happily replied: "Ulani misses Daddy, so I asked Mommy to bring me here."
Glancing in the direction of her mother, Ulani added, "Mummy misses Daddy too."
Miss her daddy? Aurora couldn't help laughing at Ulani's words.
Ulani didn't want to leave at the moment, so Aurora left the child in the firm with her husband's permission. Aurora didn't stay with Ulani because she didn't want to meet Silas' childhood friend, a woman named Lynn Hathaway, at the firm. Lynn Hathaway had a lot of hostility towards Aurora, who she believed stole her lover. In reality, Silas only saw Lynn Hathaway as a normal friend.
Aurora rarely visited Chicago alone these years. Every time she went out, she was accompanied by her husband or Ulani.
It was still early, and Aurora had no particular place to go. Thinking that the ingredients at home should be replenished, she walked to the nearby supermarket.
The supermarket was not crowded at this time, and Aurora picked some meat, vegetables and daily necessities.
She shyly grabbed two boxes of condoms quickly as she walked past a row of shelves.
When the cashier packed her purchases with a normal expression, Aurora's ears turned red
Her husband, Silas, had been busy with several lawsuits recently. Even so, he was still energetic at night, pulling Aurora to have sex from time to time.
He was a very handsome man, outwardly calm and reserved, and only Aurora, perhaps, knew that he was a little too open sexually.
No wonder condoms at home were being used so quickly.
As soon as she stepped out of the supermarket door, a tall and slender figure appeared in Aurora's line of sight.
The man leaned against the door of a black Cadillac DTS, indescribably handsome.
It was Gregory Olsen.
Aurora subconsciously turned and ran.
But soon, a pair of powerful arms encircled her from behind her. Aurora struggled and failed.
Gregory's hoarse voice sounded in Aurora's ear: "Aura, how could you have the heart to leave me? I will never let you leave again..."
"Aura, I love you, I love you very much." Gregory gently turned Aurora to face him with affection in his eyes.
Aurora heard the words but didn't know how to answer.
As early as six years ago, they had nothing to do with each other, didn't they?
Didn't he find it ironic that he still said he loved her now?
"Aura, why haven't you contacted me all these years? I miss you so much. Aura, do you miss me?" Aurora's silence made Gregory panic, the once noble and proud man now asked cautiously like a child only because Aurora was the woman he loves deeply. For the past six years, he had been regretting why he hurt her back then, so that she could have an excuse to leave him.
"Auror, I really...can't live without you."
Aurora didn't reveal her emotions, her face was as calm as she was treating a stranger: "Mr Gregory, I'm sorry, I can't afford your love. I hope you don't say such things to me again, or my husband will be unhappy."
Mr Gregory?
Gregory felt his heart break.
He remembered the good times he had with Aurora.
"Greg, can you carry me? I'm tired..."
"Greg, it's Valentine's Day, don't you have anything to say to me?"
"Greg, when we get married, I want to adopt two cats. What do you think we should name them?"
"Greg, my prince, I really love you!"
"Greg, Greg..."
Aura, did you know that during the six years you were away, I heard you calling me in my dreams countless times, but every time I woke up, all I could see was darkness. You didn't know that I had been disappointed countless times.
"Aura, are you really speaking from your heart? Aura, you once said that you would only be my bride, how can you break your promise?" Gregory looked bitter.
Aurora wanted to laugh - Gregory Olsen, you love me? When you stood firmly in that woman's camp, why didn't you think about how much you love me? When I left in despair, why didn't you think about keeping me? When you broke my heart, didn't you think that I also have my pride, were you so sure that I would never leave you?
"Mr Gregory, please behave yourself." Aurora pushed Gregory away with force.
Unprepared, Gregory took a few steps back.
Without further ado, Aurora tightened the shopping bag in her hand, turned and ran forward.
She was married, and even if she wasn't, she didn't want to have any entanglement with this man anymore. She thought that if the two of them met again one day, she would definitely not be able to control her emotions, but she didn't expect that she could pretend to be so calm!
Seeing Aurora flee without hesitation, Gregory was so in pain that he could hardly breathe!
No, Aura...
Focusing on the direction Aurora left, Gregory hurriedly chased after her. He was so afraid, afraid that she would really put herself out of her world. He was afraid, afraid that he would never have a chance again.
How desperate he was to learn from his assistant that she had been married for three years. If his assistant had not informed him that she had married that man for the sake of that little girl, Ulani, he would have lost the courage to appear before her.
At the stoplight, Gregory hugged Aurora again.
He placed a strong and domineering kiss on Aurora's lips with a strong loving kiss.
Vehicles came and went on the road, and a silver Grand Cherokee passed in front of them. The owner's eyes were cold, he stepped on the accelerator, and the car accelerated.
"Daddy, where are we going to find Mommy?" Ulani was fixed on the safety seat in the back row, unaware of the fluctuations in his Daddy's heart.
"Ulani, let's go home first. Your mommy, she will go back when it's time to go." The man's voice had no warmth, but fortunately Ulani didn't pay attention, otherwise she might think she made Daddy angry!
Aurora slapped Gregory.
Looking at Gregory coldly, Aurora didn't realize how much the man loved her, only disgusted.
"Mr. Gregory, where is your morality? Do you want to seduce married women? When did you become so open?" Aurora's voice was not sharp, but there was obvious irony in her words.
Gregory's heart sank.
"Aura, you hate me, don't you?" Gregory asked sadly. Now, He didn't even have the right to kiss her anymore. Why did fate like to joke so much?
Gregory loosened the restraint on Aurora a little.
Aurora took a step back, raised her head, she said politely and distantly, "Mr Gregory, I don't understand what you mean. I must go back, or my husband and daughter will be worried."
Comparing what was in her hand, Aurora signaled that she was going home to cook.
Gregory looked greedily at Aurora's delicate face that overlapped with the girl in his memory, and the power in his hands grew deeper and deeper -- she was here, not in his head! "Aura, divorce that man, come back to me, and I will make you happy."
Aurora saw the pleading in his eyes.
She could no longer restrain her sneers. Gregory Olsen, what were you doing six years ago? Ah? After all these years, did you think I’d still love you foolishly? Where did your confidence come from?
"Mr Gregory, from now on, please don't intervene in my life. I am very happy now, just beg you, leave this hard-won happiness to me, and if you don't, don't blame me for being ruthless." Aurora pretended to be calm. It was just a simple trick, but it fooled the clever Gregory.
Aurora didn't look at Gregory's loss and walked away without looking back.
"Aura, the only thing I can't stand in this world is losing you. Why don't you get it? I love you, I love you..." Gregory shouted hysterically at the back of the woman leaving.
Out of sight of Gregory, Aurora's eyes were sore and tears welled up.
She had sworn six years ago that she would never love a second of this man again, but why was she still upset by his sweet talk?
Which was the real you, Gregory, the gentle knight I remembered, or the disappointed man who looked at me that day and said, 'Apologize to Emily'?
