Chapter 9 You Are Doomed To Be A Loser
Emily used to be a sexy beauty, but now her hideous facial expressions ruined her beauty.
"You brought it on yourself." Aurora mocked in a cold tone.
Ignoring the crazy woman, Aurora walked in the direction of the trash can.
When Aurora returned from the trash, Emily stopped her: "Let's talk."
"There's nothing to talk about between us," Aurora said flatly.
"Aurora, you're not worthy of Gregory, please stay away from him." Seeing that Aurora was about to close the door, Emily quickly pressed her hand against the door.
"This has nothing to do with you." Aurora saw that Emily didn't give up, so she didn't rush to close the door: "Besides, I'm already married, so your worries seem superfluous."
Hearing Aurora's words, Emily had hatred in her eyes: "Aurora, are you showing off? Are you such a two-timer? I tell you, Gregory is mine, and I won't let anybody steal him from me."
Aurora was very disgusted by Emily's way of declaring sovereignty. She stared at Emily and said clearly: "Gregory is his own, and my relationship with him is not as shady as you think."
"Huh? Aurora, who are you kidding?" Emily snarled hysterically: "He even turned against his parents for you, and you said there was nothing between you? Aurora, why should he be so nice to you, you son of a bitch? Ah? On what basis are you?"
Aurora really didn't know that Gregory and his parents had a conflict over her.
She frowned: "Miss Emily, you are not welcome here, please leave."
Before Emily left, she said sternly: "Aurora, I tell you, if you are discovered by me to have dealings with Gregory again, don't blame me for being ruthless. Your husband is just a lawyer, you have to be careful not to. Implicated him. If you offend me again, I will never let you go. An ugly duckling like you will never be recognized by Gregory's family, and you are doomed to be a loser."
Aurora was in a bad mood because of Emily's appearance.
She had a nightmare when she slept this night.
In the dream, she saw Emily in a white wedding dress walking towards Gregory, they each said "I do", then exchanged rings and kissed.
As soon as the screen changed, she saw Silas fell into a pool of blood while covering his chest. In front of Silas was a man with a gun who could not see his face. She called out to Silas desperately, tears raging down her face, but he couldn't see her, he could only watch helplessly as his life withered away bit by bit.
When awakened, Aurora's forehead was covered in cold sweat.
Sitting up, Aurora lifted the sleeves of her pajamas and pinched herself hard.
The pain brought her sanity, Aurora told herself over and over again—it was just a dream, and the dream was fake.
This absurd dream made Aurora lose interest in sleeping, and she tiptoed out of bed and walked to the bathroom.
Aurora filled a basin of warm water, unbuttoned the top two buttons of her pajamas, wet the towel, and wiped the sweat off herself.
Aurora felt much refreshed after finishing the work. Looking at her face in the mirror, the slap print on it was completely invisible, which made her brows more relaxed.
Two days later, Ulani said she wanted to go out to buy groceries with Aurora. Aurora agreed.
Unexpectedly, the two met Gregory in the supermarket.
The first thing Gregory said when he walked up to Aurora was, "I'm sorry, I didn't know Emily was going to find you."
Ulani was helping with picking ingredients, and Aurora was holding one of her little hands.
"Mommy, I want that fish. Mommy likes to eat fish, so does Ulani." Ulani said.
"Okay, let's buy one." Aurora smiled and touched the top of Ulani's head.
"Gregory, what's your stance when you say sorry to me? If you and Emily are a couple, you should restrain her even more." Aurora took time to reply to Gregory's words.
"Aura, how could I like that woman, you know..." Gregory was like a wounded beast at this time, he only loved Aurora, he thought she should be very clear.
"In this case, Gregory, she is her, and you are you, if you think you have nothing to do with her, then her fault, you don't need to apologize." Aurora kept Ulani behind her, not wanting to make a bad impression on Ulani.
Giving Gregory a look, Aurora wanted him to notice the situation. In any case, she didn't want Ulani to know too much about the entanglements between adults.
Gregory watched Aurora go away again.
Gregory said in his heart: "Aura, why don't you understand? I'm not trying to protect that woman, what I care about is that you were hurt! I would rather suffer a thousand times than have you hurt one little bit, you know? In this world, the only person I want to love desperately is you."
Aurora didn't look back. She wouldn't give Gregory unreasonable hope. In fact, she understood what Gregory meant, but she could only pretend not to understand, because she couldn't respond to his love.
After nine o'clock in the evening, Aurora went downstairs to remind Ulani that it was time to go to bed, when she saw Ulani was talking on the phone with her father.
Ulani described her recent life vividly, and Aurora seemed to hear the man's laughter over the phone.
Ultimately, Ulani gave Aurora the phone to chat with Silas.
Silas seemed to have something to do temporarily, saying "I'll video call you later" and hang up.
Ulani said regretfully, "Mommy didn't have time to say a few more words to Daddy. My teacher said that communication between family members is very important."
Aurora smiled.
Ulani fell asleep after listening to the bedtime story.
Aurora went back to the master bedroom and as soon as she got into bed she got a video call from Silas.
It was their first video call, and Aurora felt novel.
While Silas can be eloquent in court, in life he is a man of few words.
The two fell silent after not talking much.
Just as Aurora was about to end the call, Silas suddenly said, "Aura, I want to have phone sex with you."
