3rd person POV
People pass on the sidewalk, it's a very busy day as today is the day that 'Coffee Heaven' was to be opened. Every coffee lover and individual who wanted to get a glimpse of the 'Princes Mate' had come down early to secure a spot on the sidewalk.
Now, this only made the man waiting to also get a glimpse of Acela Shaw more curious. He was patient after all, he had waited longer than these people have to get a glimpse of the young woman who shall one day be Queen of The Vale.
The handsome man who waits overhears a conversation of those in front of him and the comments on the young woman make his humanity crack. One comment had made him speak his mind, not wanting to listen to these pathetic nobodies to disrespect someone they should respect nonetheless. 'She's a human, the prince should just reject her!'
The handsome man chuckles darkly, catching the attention of the two females in front of him, they both turn and their faces go a bright crimson red when they notice someone had heard them, and someone who is as attractive as the man behind them.
The man smiles but shows no indication of being a 'friendly guy'. "Perhaps jealousy does not suit you, two ladies, the present Queen is human, no?" He says amusingly with hidden dark intentions.
The two women stare widely at the man and nod their heads nervously as now people around them have taken great notice of the women who are now insulting the future queen. No one would dream of it considering a week ago two Aldine men had been sent to The Silver Forge max prison for the attempt of murder on the future Queen.
The two women now lower their heads and make their way out from the queue as people snicker and stare and watch as they leave. The man did feel somewhat amused by the women, to speak so boldly in front of the number of people around them who practically worship the royal family.
The royal family Black. Now the man knew that family very well and they knew him, everyone knew him. He was presumed dead of course, he likes that. But now that he was back he wanted everyone to know it.
Starting with Acela Shaw.
He knows her well, the only reason he has traveled so far to introduce himself is that he was growing bored and restless. The young woman that this handsome man knows so well is sleepwalking through her entire life without knowing who she is, where she came from, and who she was to this man.
She was special and she had no idea.
This handsome man was over a century old, the first of his kind, as was Acela. Now in his life, this is very unheard of, not many of his kind had made one such as Acela, she was unique, she was the first, and this man wanted to protect her at all costs from this world.
She is the heir to his empire and legacy of course. His sons would argue that he was a fool, to keep such a young woman secret in his family, the whole thing had been a deep discussion amongst his people, not to his face, of course, no one would dare speak a wrong word about him and why he does the things he does.
He could not count on his many sons to do what this young woman could, she was young and wise, she had a flare and survived death. The man had regretted not showing his face sooner, he had missed too much time.
Regret? Yes, very much so. He had failed someone close to him and therefore he felt so much shame, so he hid. He made the wrong decision a long time ago and he was making the first move to make it right again.
The sound of a bell can be heard up ahead because of the man's impeccable hearing, it hints that the coffee shop is now open as the line begins to move. He was very close, so close to finally being a man of his word.
He was the next in line but he could not see into the coffee shop, but the smell of coffee beans was overwhelming his nose, it made it tickle and itch from how spicey it had seemed to the man.
Upon a customer leaving with a take-away coffee order, the scent from the content of his drink made the man frown.
He did not like coffee, not one bit.
Making his way into the shop had been a struggle, he tried to focus solely on the goal that was steps away from him. Upon entering he noticed how much the insides of the Coffeeshop had resembled someone he once knew, and let down, they were so similar in so many ways it made him reminisce about the past.
Not yet seen the young woman named Acela as he stands in front of a server who is behind a table ready to take his order had made the man a little disappointed. "Welcome to Coffee Heaven, what can I get you today?" The barista asks and the man frowns.
The handsome man stares deeply into the baristas eyes. "Acela Shaw." He simply says. It was a simple answer, he was not there this day for coffee. Nothing other than the young woman was more important to him.
The barista frowns and looks and the man nervously, he was intimidated by this man but he did not know why, but a huge part of the barista felt like submitting to him and do what he says or asks.
"I'm sorry Sir, Acela does not work here anymore." The barista says and the man growls deadly, his eyes glowing deep orange.
He had to control himself, if people had seen his eyes then he would be discovered a lot sooner than anticipated. The handsome man grabs a letter with 'dearest acela' written on it and places it in the hands of the terrifying barista.
"Make sure she gets this, if I find out she did not receive this, I will be back here and I will be less pleasant than I am being now. Do you understand?" The man says emotionless with seriousness in his eyes.
The barista's hands shake as he takes the letter from the man's hands and nods his head. "Y-Yes! I-I will make sure she g-gets it sir." The barista stutters out and the handsome man pays him no second look as he turns to leave.
The barista pales then snaps his head up. "WAIT!" He yells out to the man.
"Who should I say this is from?" He asks breathless, afraid the man might get mad for asking.
The handsome man in a trenchcoat and suit chuckles, the curls from his dark brown hair are wild on all sides but kept stylish in this day of age and his eyes are now a normal blue, he was dressed very casual smart for the occasion of hoping to meet the young woman today, perhaps he had been to exhilarated with the hope of seeing her? Perhaps.
Who should he say indeed?
"Lucius." The man says coldly then walks out of the shop and into the crowd of people, disappearing from sight, and just like that he was gone.
The barista pales and grips the latter, he studies the handwriting and it is so neat and polished, written in ink he had never seen before. He knew of a Lucius, everyone in his world knew that name, it was not popular as no one would dare use it to curse their children, the name was feared.. as it should be, it belongs to someone The Vale fear.
If he was who the barista thought he was, he feared for his family and most of all, Acela Shaw. As no one had seen him for over a century, he was presumed dead after all this time, after all.. he must be very old if he were alive today.
Lucius was the first of his kind, he was rumored to be a monster who led his people into a war against their masters, he was the first to be recorded of starting a war in The Vale, one that had set the Black family to drive his forces out and put Lucius and his people into hiding, as Lucius and his people along with the Black royal family and their people had fought side by side once upon a time to escape being slaves until Lucius thought that he could fix not only his world but the human one too.
At that moment everyone who was also inside the shop took a moment and hoped it was not the same Lucius who just walked out of the shop and vanished in the crowd.
Because if he was back...then nothing good is coming with him.
The king of Lycans is making his move.
