Caelan POV

I lean back in my chair after a long fucking day and take a deep breath.

I'm now King of The Vale.

For five long years and I wonder every day how my father did this for over 100 years without murdering people left and right for being so damn impossible.

I've spent the whole day listening to the council argue over land, I could give less than a fuck who it belonged to in the past, if no one claims it with a document of ownership then it belongs to the royal family, that's how it's always been.

It's easy to get the land back, all you do is pay but those fucking tight vampires refused to pay the fee, resulting in me listening to their pleas for hours.

Until I threw them all out and tripled the price of land, which I don't tend to give to them anyway, not after the shit I had to listen to for hours on end.

After today I have a week, a full week with my mate and daughter Hayden. My little girl is the double of her mother in so many ways, everyday I wake up with a smile on my face knowing how lucky I am to have them.

With another pup on the way, I am truly blessed.

It's early in the morning and I need to sleep then join my mate and pup at my parents outside The Vale, for a week we've decided to spend it at Deepwater pack until then I need to shower then I can fly over.

I've missed my girls too much and it's only been a day.

Acela has been adjusting to being Queen like a professional, every day she surprises me by juggling being a mother and a Queen.

Turning the shower on I grab my toothbrush and begin to brush while the water cools, I need to hurry if I want to catch them waking up, it's currently 05:00 AM in NZ, Deepwater, and I wanted to surprise my girls before they wake up.

Quickly washing my body in record time, I get dressed and dry my hair. I'm dressing casual and I forgot how it feels to be comfortable, always wearing stuffy ties and suits, now I know exactly how my father Kane felt all these years, the only reason he didn't go mad was probably because of my mother.

I head out onto the balcony and spread my wings wide then stretch them. When was the last time I flew or ran with Rion? My muscles are stiff and desperate to be worked until I can't remember anything anymore.

A run with my mate, that's what I need.

Jumping off the balcony I flap my wings and make my way to the portal.

Ever since Acela found out what she was and about her family, things have been good, being half-Fae and Lycan, she can control not only her transformation but she has slowly mastered the art of magic.

The one ability I love is her ability to open interdimensional portals to travel between dimensions at any given time, the number of times she has pulled me into a portal to the middle of nowhere and we've just escaped, even though it's only for a few minutes

I live for those minutes alone with her.

Making it to the portal I land down on the ground and touch the stones to open the portal, I'm running on three hours of sleep for the past three days and I won't rest until I'm in the arms of my mate, my wolf and I are too tense to relax without her close.

Acela POV

"Come on baby, don't kick, mama wants to sleep." I beg my pup as I rub my belly.

My back is killing me and I've been awake for the past hour, it's 06:34 AM and Caelan should be here today, the sooner the better, I need his damn touch to calm down his son, right now he's kicking so much inside me it's impossible to relax without Caelan near me.

Caelan wasn't joking when he said when Hayden was old enough we will try for another pup, I tried for five long years to resist that sex pest and in the end, he finally got what he wanted, I'm now weeks away from giving birth to our boy and Hayden and Caelan are over the moon with excitement.

I just want him out of me so I can finally sit up on my own without help.

I sniff the air and I can smell him a mile away, I'd get up but I can't move, I'm a big balloon stuck on the bed. I laugh at the thought but without the help of Kane or Sora I am stuck here indefinitely.

I smell Caelan more strongly now and that is when I see him, looking as handsome as the first day I met him, this old man still looks the same as ever, leaning against the doorway smirking down at me as I frown at him.

This is his fault.

"Hey babe, need a hand?" He asks amusingly and I groan out.

I nod my head and he comes over and gently pulls me up so I can put my feet on the floor. "Thank god, I need to pee desperately." I growl out as I tiptoe to the bathroom, Caelan's husky laugh making me glare at him from over my shoulder.

I close the door slightly and I hear Caelan growl out a warning, making me roll my eyes.

Yeah yeah, I won't lock it, you domineering wolfman.

"I heard that." He calls out behind the door.

I snort. "Stop reading my thoughts then." I say back with a grin, causing him to laugh out.

A knock at the bedroom door startles me and I hear Caelan open it as I flush the toilet and push myself up to wash my hands and brush my teeth.

"Ah Caelan! When did you get here? You look tired." I hear Sora say from behind the door.

"Just now and thanks mother, really." He says sarcastically causing me to snicker out.

I finish up and join beside Caelan and grin at Sora who smiles widely. "Hey, is she up?" I ask Sora and she laughs, nodding her head.

"Oh yeah, she's with Kane fishing, I swear I've never seen him happier when he's teaching her how to fish." She says humorously and I laugh when Caelan rolls his eyes.

Kane had tried to teach Caelan and Lisla to fish when they were young, tried and failed due, as twins they can't stand the smell of fish, Caelan refuses to eat them and Lisla grimaces at the sight of them, no doubt from a little trauma caused by Kane gutting them when they were children.

But Hayden? She loves it.

She is obsessed with everything Kane and Caelan does, she's a little tomboy and I love it, it's so amusing to see her so excited about the outdoors, as a full-blooded fae, she is one with nature and all of us love that fact.

Hayden is only a fae, she did not inherit the werewolf or Lycan gene, but only my mothers gene, and she has been showing signs of having the gift to manipulate water, I found that out by luck when I bathed her one day, we both think it's wonderful, Kane made a joke how she'd be perfect as a fisherwoman and ever since it's become an inside joke between the adults.

As we all sit outside, I curl into Caelan's side and he wraps his strong warm arms around me, instantly relieving my stress and calming down the impatient pup that wants out of me.

"How are you both feeling?" Caelan asks and I sigh out and look at him dumbly, he shrugs and smirks at me. "Aw babe, don't look at me like that." He says with a frown and I poke his chest,

"This is the last one, I mean it Caelan, my ankles are swollen and I can't even laugh without peeing." I say seriously and he just grins, trying not to laugh at me.

"I'm being serious, I will chop it off." I tell him seriously and he still has a smug grin.

"Chop what off?" A deep voice says and I turn to see Kane coming from around the corner, holding a huge fish.

I didn't have time to speak as my girl's excited scream startles us all, making Sora almost drop the plate of drinks she was carrying out to us.

"DADDY!" Hayden screams, holding onto a smaller fish, mimicking Kane.

Caelan grimaces at the fish but his eyes light up as he holds his hands out for his daughter who jumps into his arms next to me. "Daddy look, gramps said I can eat it later, isn't that cool?" Hayden says happily while she waves the dead fish in Caelan's face.

Caelan pales and nods his head as he leans his head back, causing me and Sora to laugh and Kane to snort. "Hayden come on, you know daddy hates fish." He says seriously, causing all of us to laugh, even Hayden.

Hayden grins and jumps of her daddy and then runs into the kitchen, not before popping her head out from the door and glaring at Kane. "Come on gramps! We need to put them in cold!" She says demandingly, hinting at the dangling dead fish in her small hands causing us all to look at her amused.

Kane is loving it as he heads towards the house, mumbling to himself 'yeah yeah, I'm coming boss'.

Caelan shivers next to me as he has goosebumps on his arms. "I swear she does that on purpose, our kid is scary." He says, staring into my eyes with a serious look, making me howl out laughing at his expression.

We all hear Hayden giggling from inside the house then we see Kane comes out with her upside down on his shoulder. Caelan wraps his arm around me whilst the other hand is placed on my stomach, Sora goes to Kane and picks Hayden off from him as he just shrugs as his mate scolds him.

"I love this." Caelan says quietly as he kisses the side of my head, I look towards him as his eyes are fighting to stay awake.

I smile lovingly at my husband and the love of my life. "I love you more now lets go have a nap, your parents are taking Hayden hiking later, so you know what that means?" I ask him and his eyes light up.

"Undisturbed sleep?" He says with hope in his tone.

I nod my head and grin. "Sleep."

He groans out happily and yawns, standing up and holding his hand out for me with a lazy grin. "Fuck, I love you." He says tiredly and I laugh.

I look towards Kane and wave as Sora helps Hayden tie her boots. "We're gonna head on in and sleep." I say to Kane and he looks at us with a look.

He snorts and grins knowingly, nodding his head and waving us off.

As we head into the house I can't help but think Kane got the wrong impression of 'sleep', it reminds me of the time he could smell the sex on me and Caelan, the first night I slept at the palace.

That was possibly the most embarrassing moment of my life in front of Kane and Caelan loved it.

Hearing the car start as we make it into the guest bedroom, Caelan throws his jacket behind the chair and begins to strip, I watch him greedily as I sit on the bed like a big hot air balloon ready to burst.

He drops his pants and I stare at him confused with my mouth slightly open as he just shrugs and grins at me, stalking his way towards me.

"W-Wait, Caelan..?" I mumble out as he lifts the dress up from me and unhooks my bra, leaving me sat there with a huge belly and naked chest.

He moans out as he stares at my larger breasts and his eyes light up. "I've waited too long, let's 'sleep', before I lose my mind."

My eyes go wide and I don't get a chance to speak as his hot mouth is on mine, his rough lips taking mine in his as he leans me back against the pillow and spreads my legs wide so I can wrap my legs around his waist as I lay down.

He growls out and moans as I rake my nails down his back, causing him to breathe heavily as his large dominant length stands at attention.

His eyes glow brightly as he stares lovingly into my eyes, his wolf now in control. "Brace yourself mate." He says with a devilish smirk as he rips the panties off from me.

I'm utterly, completely and madly screwed, when it comes to Caelan Black.

And I wouldn't have it any other way.
