Twenty-two
- How much drama! -discuss.
"Why didn't you leave her with her husband?" she asks. -Why did you decide to bring her right here?
"You saw the bodies in the garden, so you know very well why I brought you!"
“I know why you brought her, but what matters here is whether you know about it. -insinuates. -Tell me something, you are aware that she does not belong to you, are you?
- What do you mean by that?
"I mean she's not yours!" -It's frank. -She's married, she already has a husband!
"I know that, you don't have to keep reminding me!"
— If you had evaluated your decision earlier, you would also have remembered that bringing her here would be a risk to everyone's lives. And when I say everyone, it's because he knows very well what the other three would do if they knew that he transformed a fourth woman and to make matters worse he shares feelings with her.
“There's no way for them to know, especially since they never walk around on this side of the house.
"Okay, let's see how long this lasts!"
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
— B-Benjamin...
The next morning, the Queen wakes up alone, finding herself in a totally strange place and wearing the same clothes as the accident last night. She sits on the bed and apprehensively begins to analyze the whole place with her eyes, feeling the sun through the huge glass windows.
- Wow... -said admired. -W-wait... God!
She sees that she has soiled the bed with blood and hastily jumps out of the mattress.
“Shit! -His hands rub the sheets making the situation even worse. -Damn it, he's going to kill me. What do I do?
The Queen puts her hand to her forehead and starts pacing, thinking about what she should do to make the mess she's caused disappear. She sees the closet and runs to it, encountering several suits and social blouses, the hope is that she would find more clean linings, but anything she touched would also come out stained.
— Mila? she called from the corner of the door. -I can enter?
“Vincent! -she runs to the door and surprises him when she pulls the doorknob and grabs his wrist thrusting him into the room. -I need your help! -she said locking the door.
- What there was? she asked. -Don't tell me you're going to faint again...
- No, I'm not going! - she replied.
"Then why is it still so dirty?"
“Yes, that's what I want to talk about. Look what I did with Benjamin's bed! - she showed, collapsing. -He's going to kill me, Vincent. For God's sake, help me clean this up.
Vicent, as if he couldn't hide it, does everything to contain his mouth and the laughter that was dying to escape.
- You are laughing?
"Sorry, you're stronger than me!"
He laughs and she gets irritated giving him two light slaps on his arm.
- Stop laughing! -she said slapping him friendly.
- There! - she complained laughing.
- Help me please. In a little while he'll come up here and I'll be in a lot of trouble!
— A thousand things for you to worry about and you decide to give importance to it right away?
— Look at this room Vincent, surely its master is a nauseous man who notices even if the sheet is crumpled. I doubt if anyone has ever stepped in here with shoes on, you can even smell the clean floors and rich furniture.
— Well... -he thinks about her words. -I think you're right about what you said. After all, I've known him my whole life and he's never let anyone into his room.
"My God, I'm going to die!" - he vented huffing.
This butler sure knows how to make things more interesting.
"No, calm down, nothing will happen to you!"
"How not?" she snapped. -Look what I did with his mattress and now you tell me he's the hot conceited type who doesn't like people invading his space.
"You said it was hot!" -laughed.
— Come on Vincent, help me!
- Right! - agreed. -See that door? - she pointed.
"What door?" -strange. -There's no door there!
On the right side of the closet, there was an opening in the corner indicating another room, but without a door.
Mila "Damn it, don't you tell me that the bathroom here doesn't have a door either!"
— Take a shower, but a really good one to get rid of all that dead corpse smell. I'll take care of cleaning everything up before you get out of the shower.
- Okay!
She goes to the opening while the butler makes sure to clean and change all the sheets. When she arrives at the portal without locks, her views are in shock believing that she had already seen everything but that.
- It's not possible!
Transparent glass everywhere and a surreal, beautiful and mesmerizing landscape. The person who took a shower there was responsible for the energy bill and all the other expenses that only such a place could generate.
Mila "Should I be worried?"
Mila "If a person's house says a lot about them, then I was worried about Thomas."
— EVERYTHING RIGHT THERE?
- YES!
Mila "Of course not!"
Mila "The patient who built the bathroom in the palace doesn't even come close to the psychopath who built this one. One worse than the other. Before, the fear was that my bedroom door would be opened, now the fear is that the entire planet, including the animals, see me naked."
She takes her shower which was actually more of a walk through the woods, making sure to get the dead people smell off her skin. She scrubs herself down like never before and shampoos her hair about six times, finishing with her Greek God-scented conditioner. Leaving the bathroom wrapped in a towel, she sees that Vincent has left everything clean and tidy, just as she had promised. That causes a huge relief, until she realizes that she didn't have any clothes to wear.
Mila "Now fucked!"
For a minute that fact even bothers her, but when she stops and thinks about the blouses she had seen hours before, everything is still calm except for the part that was only going to wear that and nothing else underneath.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Minutes later, I ask Vincent to go to the hospital to get more blood to replenish the reservoir. During that time I try to take my mind off my problems by sticking my face in a good book.
The problem with trying to read, while your mind is somewhere else, is that we start putting words where they don't exist and stories where they don't exist. Everything was running out of line, including the control I had over my feet, which kept hitting the ground over and over again.
"What the hell is this?"
"Ben?" -a calm voice, echoes behind the door making me drop the book immediately.
— Mila! I get up from the armchair.
- I was looking for you! -she said entering the library with wet hair and a wonderful perfume.
"Didn't mean to bother you-"
"You Must be kidding!"
When I see her all over, I can't believe what my eyes are seeing.
— S-sorry... -she sees me focused on her body, blushing with embarrassment. -I couldn't find anything to wear and--
- Everything is fine! - I interrupt her. - I had forgotten about that detail!
"What a fucking detail!"
"You didn't let me get my clothes, in fact you didn't even let me say goodbye to people...
- It was better this way! -I say. -I mean...better in relation to avoiding contact with humans and not in relation to being without clothes now...it's...in this...in this situation.
She laughs, moving towards the couch to sit down.
— I see no problem in continuing to wear your clothes, I'm sure my perfume won't bother you.
"No, he won't!" -I agree. -AND...
"I urgently need to change the subject!"
"Can you tell me what happened yesterday?"
— No big deal, I just discovered your relationship with my security guard! - is sarcastic.
"Did you just hear about this now?"
"Funny, isn't it?" - mocks. -You know I'm a Clifford and you even mentioned my family name, but you never stopped to tell me your last name.
— Piter is your friend, I thought he had already contacted you!
- Friend? She laughs in a playful tone.
- Yes... - I stare at her thoughtfully. -But that's not what spurred your anxiety yesterday, is it?
“Why would it have been?
Mila "I came to the conclusion that in this life I was born just to screw myself. There are so many men in the world and I decide to have a hard-on with my uncle while having sex with my nephew."
"You always get really weird when you bring up his name...
- What? -she stands up suddenly, her skin even lighter. -Wow Benjamin, you are worse than me when it comes to mental fantasies.
— Depending on the costume, I'll take care of getting it clean before it bothers me.
Mila "Oh God..."
"I think I better go back to bed!"
"Not feeling well?"
- Honestly no!
“There are a few things I didn't tell you about the transformations. If you don't want to -
- I want! -cut me. - I also wanted to clear up some doubts.
“First, your fainting spell. This is usually one of the warnings our body gives when it doesn't complete the transition. It is essential that the first meals are from adults and -
— Oops! - she interrupts me again. -If you're trying to say that I need to kill people, then it's better not to continue.
- No! -nego. -You can live normally on blood bags, but if you don't eat at least two bags a day, your body will become weak and the sunlight can kill you!
“What if I choose not to drink that crap?
- Filth? - I repeat surprised. -She's the first vampire I've seen that doesn't like blood!
"It's not that I don't like it, it's that I don't want to be like that...
“I'm sorry Mila, but this is your life right now. And if you don't eat at least the minimum, there will come a time when your body won't support it!
- You are wrong! -debated. -I'm fine now...
- Yes... - I approach her. -But only because I completed her transition!
"How did you complete it?"
“You've only fed from three and a half people. The nurse, Antony, Carl and part of Piter. While you were unconscious, I gave you enough to complete your transformation.
"Did you feed me while I slept?"
“You had just passed out, I couldn't expect you to wake up and do what was right afterward.
"And again, you made yet another decision for me!"
"I'm not starting this argument again!"
- Okay! - she agrees furiously.
We entered a hole of silence knowing that that space and time was ideal for us not to start a war. In those five minutes she was walking around the library, wearing that blouse that I never imagined would fit so well on a female body, her fingers passing through the books long enough for the rays to enter us, to cease.
I was watching her and her body knew it, her eyes didn't have to turn to me for her to notice my fixation. Maybe I was imagining things and in the end she wasn't even minding my presence, however, something told me that the other version of her, the one underneath the stubbornness, was capable of feeling my hot and ambitious body.
