Twenty-eight
When I got tired of the changes I decided to look for an isolated place, where I didn't have to justify whenever a human disappeared, or when a scream was heard. I met Drumond, who was one of the richest farmers in Dallnalia, owner of an immense piece of land that included part of the largest forest in the country. He was old, kind and having recently lost his wife, he agreed to sell me the land as he intended to leave. The place was falling apart, but it didn't take me long to tear the house down and build another one as I wanted.
- Let's talk! -I announce, passing by the entrance to the second room, where the jacuzzi was.
This whole part of the house had a proper ventilation system. Before it was just a simple hiding place, but then they started sleeping here and the next day they also refused to leave.
The immature decision to isolate themselves down here started on the day I forbade any kind of violence and murder against humans. At that time there were many clans of hunters and some of them were roaming my lands. I lost many friends and much of our race was being wiped out.
"Can't you wait for us to finish here?"
Iris, was the oldest of the three. Ruthless, calculating, cruel, possessive, ambitious, vain. She was the granddaughter of the famous Eleonor, one of the most powerful witches in the world, but who did not inherit her powers.
At the time I met her she was a good and loving woman, but after she was transformed she became a destruction machine that I couldn't control.
“Sit there and wait, Benjamin! -said along with the others, delighting in the blood bags that Vincent had just brought from the hospital.
Marrenta, intelligent, gluttonous, treacherous, influential. Kaila had everything to be a good person, but it was exactly the opposite.
Whenever I gained control over the other two, or when we finally all came to terms, she would disagree, causing anger and agitation. I never know what to expect from Kaila and even if I tried hard to know what her next step is, I would still be surprised.
"Enough girls!" - she said getting up.
Julie was my salvation, she was an angel. So sweet, sweet, kind, caring, naive. She was the type of girl who strictly follows her father's orders, being an example of a daughter, woman and wife.
It's a shame that others live taking advantage of your innocence.
"I thought we had a deal!" - I say sitting on the couch. -The promise you made to me is proving to be dishonest -
“Dishonest? She stands up with an arched eyebrow. -Do you really want to talk about dishonesty?
I look at her, look at her deeply, not saying a word about her overtures.
“Don't start, Iris!
The three sit on the other couch across from me.
"You brought another woman home!" -she insists on the subject, flooded with jealousy.
"We're talking about four bodies in a trunk and another dumped on my floor!" -I'm more rigid. -Do you think they won't suspect, that they won't do everything to find the culprits this time? - I try to disturb them mentally.
"I warned you not to!"
"Here comes the saint!" - ironizes.
“Kaila! - I warn.
— They weren't even real people Benjamin, they were just beggars, nobody will miss them. They don't even have a family!
"I'm going to pretend I didn't hear that!" - I get up even more stressed than when I entered. -If you insist on killing innocent people, I won't protect you anymore. They will be exposed and attacked!
"Are you like this because of that woman?" -she stands up, trying to intimidate me.
— Mila, it's the hospital director's daughter! -I lie.
Before ordering the killings to stop, I had to make a deal with Dr. Scott, the director of the hospital. Because he was directly connected to humans, he had known about our existence for a long time, given the countless attacks that arrived at the hospital without any context, or logic. He agreed to help us whenever called upon and also started to donate a good part of the blood he received, in exchange for immortality for all those he deemed necessary.
I didn't do the transformations, in fact, Mila was an exception. I passed other contacts, who didn't mind providing the services, since I had decided to stop.
"He just asked me to protect you for a while, until you sort out some problems!"
I can't tell the truth, I know very well what they would do if they found out that I transformed another woman.
“And the talk about a Reign?”
“There is no reign. She's just a prepotent woman who thinks she's a doctor's daughter! -I make up more lies, overwhelmed by their probing looks.
"Did you have to bring her right to our house?"
"And why was she wearing your clothes?"
— What part of "protect" did you not understand? -critical. -Do you want me to take her to a hotel and keep an eye on her there?
"But what about your blouse, Benjamin?"
"WHAT THE HELL!"
“What's with that bloody blouse, Kaila? - I get irritated. -It's just an outfit and I don't even know how she got it!
I huff tiredly from the interrogation, throwing myself back onto the couch. The three begin to stare at each other as if analyzing my responses, deciding what to do with me.
— Well... -Your hard shell starts to break down.
"We're sorry!" -is direct in the apology.
"I've heard that before!" - I say tired. -You always mess up and then I have to fix everything...
“We didn't mean to, Benjamin. We were bored and -
"And then they decided to kill five people just to have a little fun!"
"We're sorry for hurting you..." she said, shrunken and sad.
— Why did they do that to Mila? -question. -How am I going to explain myself to her father?
"She's alive, isn't she?" - mocks.
"We didn't do anything else!"
“You dug your nails into her neck, Iris!
"If you keep protecting her like this, I'm going to start thinking there's more to her than you said!"
— It could be anyone, you still wouldn't have the right to do what you did!
"That's enough, you two!" -she imposes herself, angry. -We already understand the seriousness of what we did and -
—Did you really understand Julie? - I interrupt her. - I'm tired of this shit. You look like starving children who -
“We're tired too, Benjamin! - he said. -We are always taken by surprise, you never share your decisions with us, it's one bomb after another.
I sit up and stare right into her eyes.
"What decisions are those?" - I'm firm.
— This girl... Mila, that's the name, isn't it?
- If I had known that the whole conversation would boil down to just that, I wouldn't have wasted my time coming here! I stand up and turn my back to leave.
— BENJAMIN! -she yells, running after me. -Wait! - she said taking my arm.
- What it was?
— Let's stop fighting, please... -she asks, her eyes shining.
"We're really sorry!" - she said approaching.
Gods. Three Goddesses who made my whole world turn upside down whenever they decided to play with my face.
"Julie didn't mean that, did she Julie?" -she threatens, using the domain she had.
- Sorry...
Their haggard gazes settle on me, full of well-calculated intentions.
"We want to apologize master...
She bites her bottom lip, trailing her hands down my arms in a warm way.
"We're sorry for hurting you…" he tempts me with his seductive drawl.
The two begin to slide down my body, getting glued to me.
"Do you want to play with us?"
They know how to mess with me, but I'm too pissed off for that right now.
- Girls...
"Damn it!"
Julie hugs me from behind, undoing the buttons on my shirt while Iris takes off my belt.
— We miss you... -he said kissing my neck.
"W-wait... I struggle."
I should be entering each of them right now, making them scream, moan my name as they come. But for the first time in my life, my mind is elsewhere.
Mila, it comes and goes in my mind like flashes of light, at the same time they touch me full of desire. It was impossible to look at them, without that smile and green eyes taking over everything.
- He arrives! - I walk away.
"What the fuck is happening to me?"
"N-no way!" -stutter. -I am unable!
- Can not? -she is perplexed. -How can you not?
"I'm not in the mood for this!"
- Is playing?
I had never denied them pleasure before, making a decision like this was new even to me.
— T-tomorrow... - Not finishing what I was going to say, I leave the basement with hard steps, stunned.
— BENJAMIN!
They were nonconformist, screaming and cursing.
- Mila... - I whisper.
She doesn't get out of my head. I'm doing everything I can, but she keeps showing up.
- Sir?
Vincent closes the refrigerator with an orange in his hand, realizing that he leaves the basement completely distraught.
- What there was?
"N-it's nothing!" - I say rubbing my face, disoriented. -Why aren't you doing what I asked?
"I got hungry!"
— What about Mila?
“I called her a thousand times, my lord. I don't know what else to do to -
Suddenly, a loud, thumping sound rumbles from inside the garage outside the house.
— Oops! I'm astonished. -I-Is that what I'm thinking? - I'm so stunned that I even stumble over the words.
My butler, who is even more shocked than I am, pulls out the key drawer, raising a panicked, nervous look.
“Vincent! - I close my eyes.
He doesn't say anything. Simply nothing.
"I-I'm missing a key..."
The garage door starts to open and I, along with Vincent, shoot wildly.
"I STILL KILL YOU, VICENT!" - threat while running.
"I'M VERY SORRY, SIR!"
When we reached the garage, my butler got up on his knees trying to catch his breath. The mixed emotions I was feeling only started to get worse when I realized I had arrived too late.
— The key... -I comment, starting to analyze the scenario better.
"Cum..."
— Tell me she didn't take my Maserati...
"Do you want to kill me now, or later?"
It's raining, raining hard. In Dallnalia the weather has always been very random, one minute the sun warms everything, the next the rain spreads with its winds and rays, and when we least expect it, snow is covering the ground. Those who are born here manage to live normally with these changes, but those who come from outside never adapt.
