Regret or A New Plan?

At City Hospital, Paris

Noah's P.O.V.

I opened my eyes slowly and squinted it a little to adjust my vision. I winced as I felt a throbbing pain in my arm and head.

"How are you feeling?"

All of a sudden, I heard a deep raspy voice. I turned my head to the right only to see Vincent staring at me with a worried expression.

"I am fine. What about Leon?" I asked him.

"He's fine but still unconscious", he replied.

I blinked my eyes a little as I remembered Katherine.

"What about Katherine?"

Vincent scrunched up his eyebrows maybe perplexed by my words. "What do you mean?"

I looked at him and sighed understanding that he doesn't have any clue about her.

"She is dead", I sighed sadly. I turned my gaze away from him as I darted my eyes towards the ceiling.

"She didn't jump from the building so-"

"I know. And I think you need to rest now", he replied in a monotonous tone. I was taken aback by his words.

"W-What do you mean?", I spoke with difficulty as I felt my head pounding a bit. Vincent came closer to me and handed me an envelope. I was completely befuddled.

"What's this?"

"You are officially fired"

My eyes widened. I threw the envelope harshly on the ground and shouted fiercely​.

"WHAT THE HELL!!!! YOU CAN'T DO THIS!!! WHAT ABOUT XAVIER?" I yelled in a thunderous growl but he kept a straight face.

"We are closing this case"

Meanwhile

At Knights Heritage, Italy

Rosaline's P.O.V.

I was stunned as soon I heard him. My heartbeat stopped. I couldn't believe my ears.

"Xavier is letting me go? He is setting me free?"

I looked at Xavier with teary eyes. He was smiling sadly while looking at me.

"Where?", My voice was barely audible as I was still in a daze.

"America", he replied in a broken tone.

A sob escaped my lips as I kept staring him with wide eyes. He nodded and rested his head on my shoulders as he hugged me tightly.

"Yeah, you wanted to go. I am letting you go now. You can enjoy your life as you want. I won't bother you again. I am sorry for everything. I just loved you but my love turned into an obsession.... A dangerous obsession...I myself didn't realise when I started hurting you in the name of love. But...But..."

He then looked at me and wiped off my tears. His gaze landed on my shoulders. He caressed the bruises which he had given me gently with his cold fingers. I was staring at him silently while tears kept rolling down his cheeks.

"I have no one except you Rosebud. You have your entire family, friends, well-wishers but me...I have no one", he spoke, his voice staggered a bit as he was trying his best not to explode. A sob escaped from my mouth as his words stabbed my heart.

"I don't have my parents. I am an orphan, Rose. My friend who was like a brother to me also betrayed me. You saw that, didn’t you? I don't know whom to trust now. You are my life... My world...My everything...but my monstrous acts also separated you from me. But now I have realised I don't deserve you. You are so sweet Rose, so kind-hearted and innocent. I have hurt a pure soul like you too much. But now I won't. You don't deserve to be treated like this. So, I have decided to free you now from my cage. You can go, live your life as you want. I would never bother you nor ever harm you. I am sorry. Please forgive me"

He poured all his feelings infront of me while crying hard. I slowly wiped his tears with my fingers. I lifted his chin making him look at me.

"T-Then what about you?", I spoke while sobbing. Xavier just flashed me a broken smile and kissed my lips gently.

"I will live with your memories. I will spend my entire life reminiscing our wonderful moments that we had cherished together. How we used to kiss each other, laugh with each other, play with each other. How you used to take care of me when I used to get sick and laugh even at my stupidest jokes. I always wanted my wife to cook for me, wait for me when I come back home from office, love and take care of me but my obsession destroyed all these. I will always remember your laugh, your smile, your eyes, your scent...the best moments of our past. I will survive don't worry. As far you are happy, I am happy. You also go and fulfil your dreams. I came in between them. I destroyed your happy life with my darkness but now I won't. I will not bother you anymore. I'll just live for your smile and with your memories for the rest of my life and eventually die one day", he chuckled with tears rolling down his cheeks.

I couldn't control anymore and crashed in his arms while crying loudly.

"No, I am not leaving you. I'll die without you. Don't speak like this. I forgive you. Don't say you have no one. I am very sorry, Xavier. I should have understood you. I should have helped you. But I left you. I am so sorry. I was just so selfish. I am really a very bad wife. I only thought about myself. I am sorry. I forgive you. Please don't leave me", I cried my heart out while tightening my grip around his torso. He hugged me slowly and patted my head.

"No, Rose. You won't be able to live with me. I am a monster, Rose. I will keep hurting you. You deserve someone better. And I am not the-"

I shook my head and tightened my grip.

"No, I love you. Only you. Please don't say this. I love you. You're my life too. Please don't push me away...."

I kept crying. I realised my fault today. I shouldn't had left him. It was all my fault. I should have tried to change him. I should have helped him not leave him alone to die. He really loves me. He really has no one except me. But I took advantage of it and ran away. I should have thought once about him. I also loved him but I just trusted others and ran away leaving my love to suffer alone. I kept crying as I was too feeling too guilty.

Xavier then broke the hug gently and cupped my face. He wiped off my tears but I kept crying.

"Rose, stop crying. Please, you are making it difficult for me", he spoke in a stern voice.

"Don't leave me", I cried. Xavier then rested his forehead on mine and spoke sadly.

"Rose, I have already hurt you so much. I can't control myself. I just love you so much. But I think this relationship won't work out. I literally have nothing left my sweet Rosa. I don't want you to suffer with me. I just wanted to make you happy but I think I chose the wrong way. I just wanted to be the only person in your life but I forced you to love me. But now I can't. I don't want to hurt you more. I can't-"

"NO!!! DON'T LEAVE ME!!! PLEASE, I BEG YOU!! I AM SORRY"

I shouted making him flinched. I then cupped his face and kissed him. My lips were trembling as I was sobbing hard. Xavier then grabbed my face and kissed me hard. He started giving me open-mouth kisses and held my neck to deepen the kiss. We then pulled off soon and stared in each other's eyes.

"I will help you, Xavier. I don't want this luxurious life. I only want you. I will happily accept you even if you have nothing. I just want you. Only you. Nothing else. Don't push me away. I am sorry. I just left you to suffer not once thinking about you. Please forgive me. I am so sorry", I whimpered as I held his face in my hands.

Xavier then kissed my forehead and smiled.

"Okay"

I smiled with tears streaming down my face. He shook his head and wiped off my tears.

"I love you Rosebud. I love you so much"

He spoke in a hoarse voice and grabbed the back of my head as he slammed his lips on mine. I also kissed him back but he was fierce as he started kissing me with hunger. I also try to respond back with the same intensity but he didn't allow me. I couldn't breathe anymore so I opened my mouth for air but he took the opportunity and inserted his tongue as he started sucking on it hard.

"Mmm, Xa-Xavier"

I tried to push him back to make him realize that I was going out of breath. He was dominant and rough but soon he understood my condition. He broke the kiss with a sloppy sound and rested his forehead on mine as we both tried to catch our breathe.

"I am sorry for leaving you", I spoke in a guilty tone as I looked at him sadly.

"It's okay. I can understand" he spoke in a deep voice as he ran his tongue over my swollen lips to soothe the pain which his bruising kiss has caused. I smiled and pecked his lips.

"But don't leave me again. I'll die without you", Xavier spoke in a sad tone. I immediately shook my head in denial and hugged him.

"Never ever in my life"

He hugged me back as we cried in each other's embrace for some time. I then broke the hug and wiped his tears.

"Let's start our relationship again", I chuckled.

He nodded while smiling.

"Hi, I am Xavier Knights "

He extended his hands to me. I laughed and shake hands with him.

"I am Rosaline Knights. Nice to meet you my hubby"

Xavier laughed. He then brought my palm to closer to his lips and placed a soft kiss on it.

"Nice to meet you too my wifey"

We both then laughed and hugged each other.

"I love you Xavier"

"I also love you, my Rosebud "

3 months later

It's been three months since Xavier and Rosaline got together. Xavier had become a lovey-dovey husband and took care of Rosaline like a child. He wouldn't allow her to do any work and would never get angry on her.

Rosaline had also started working in Romano Corporation as a Design Engineer. Xavier had personally asked Antonio to let Rosaline work in her company to which he happily accepted. Xavier knew how much she loved to design cars so he allowed her to work there.

Rosaline was very happy. She had already forgiven Xavier and had now moved on with her new life. They both were happy with each other now.

"Xavier"

Xavier and Antonio were discussing about their new project when suddenly they both heard Rosaline's voice. Xavier turned around and looked at Rosaline. He smiled at her. He quickly walked to her and pecked her forehead.

"Yes Princess"

He hugged her tightly while kissing her hair. Rosaline smiled back. She then broke the hug and smiled. Her gaze then landed on Antonio. She greeted him to which he nodded with a bright smile. Rosaline then turned her gaze towards Xavier.

"Baby, I heard from Sebastian you are going to America?", she spoke, her brows were creased together displaying her nervousness. Xavier nodded while caressing her hair.

"Yes sweetheart. It will just take a week and I'll be back again"

He assured her with a soft kiss on her forehead.

"But Baby, will you be alright?"

Tears brimmed in her eyes as she stared at him. Xavier kissed her lips gently and looked in her hazel orbs shining brightly.

"Rose, don't get worried too much. I have some unfinished business over there. I'll be alright. Okay?"

He smiled to which she nodded. They both then hugged each other and Xavier left with Antonio. Antonio was smiling at them all the time. He patted Xavier's shoulder as they made their way out.

"I am happy for you both", he beamed.

After bidding goodbyes, Xavier and Antonio soon then got inside their limo. The driver started off the engine while they headed towards the airport. Xavier looked at Antonio who was smiling at him brightly. He raised an eyebrow in confusion.

"I was too worried when I came to know that you had decided to let her go", Antonio spoke in a sad tone as he looked at him with sparkling eyes.

His smile automatically got dropped off his face when Xavier flashed him his famous evil smirk.

"Who said that?"
