"Is that so?"

A deep voice boomed inside the closed room startling Rosaline and Emily. They both turned around only to see an inflaming Xavier standing at the entrance. His one hand was dipped in the pocket of his trousers while his other hand clutched the cell phone in a death grip. Rosaline's eyes turned wide as saucers. His spine-chilling look was enough to make her run for hills.

Xavier's P.O.V.

After the conflict with Noah and Antonio, I left straight for Scorpions' prison where I had held that betrayer captive. My hands were itching to kill her but before that I needed my answers. That's why without waiting for anyone, I started my interrogation but the answers which she gave me, left me shocked and incensed.

Never in a million years I had imagined that Katherine was none other than Rebecca's cousin.

Both Katherine and Rebecca had hidden this fact from the Agency and others. Even after asking for hundred times, Katherine didn't open her mouth nor she told me the reason behind it. She only kept chanting the mantra that whatever she did was to avenge the death of her sister. But when Katherine told me that she was the one who had tried to kill Rosebud that day in the lift, I lost it. My Rosebud could have died that day if Noah wouldn't had found her. Without thinking twice, I headshot that bitch who died on the spot.

After killing Katherine, I was becoming restless. My mind was trapped in a whirlwind of emotions and I knew that there is only one way I will be able to calm myself down. Reaching Knight Empire, I immediately turned my heels towards Rosaline's room to meet my healer, my remedy.

But when I reached there, I heard something which I shouldn't had.

End of Xavier's P.O.V.

Rosaline gulped when Xavier's fierce eyes met with her scared hazel ones. She instantly dropped her gaze to the floor as she knew that she was doomed now.

A pin drop silence prevailed inside the four walls. Emily immediately scurried away leaving Rosaline alone with her psycho husband who was shooting daggers at her. Rosaline flinched when Xavier abruptly kicked the door shut with a loud bang and bolted it. His footsteps rang danger bells in her ears as he approached her within three long strides.

Rosaline fisted the hem of her skirt in apprehension and bit her lower lip. Xavier's intense gaze fell on her pale face. He lifted her chin with his index finger and made her look at him.

"You know him damn well, don't you?", he gritted the last part with clenched teeth. Rosaline was tight-lipped. Xavier then pulled her lower lip with his thumb and index finger. Her breathing turned ragged when Xavier started caressing the pad of his thumb on her soft lips. He then cupped her chin and with his other hand he grabbed her waist and jerked her closer. Rosaline yelped and grabbed his shoulders for support. She peeked at him through the curtain of her lashes.

"I told you that this topic is over, isn't it? I think I made myself clear that neither you are going there nor you are ever, EVER going to take his name from your pretty mouth.", he snarled making Rosaline jump in fright. She quickly placed her both hands on his left wrist which was holding her chin and shot him a pleading look.

"Xavier, don't jump the gun. At least first hear me out. I know you're afraid that he will again do try to harm me once I go back or will try to turn me against you but trust me, I won't change my stand this time. Please believe me Xavier.", her chin wobbled as she looked at him with teary-eyes.

Xavier's gaze turned soft. She still thinks that he doesn't trust her which makes her every time fraught with anxiety. For him, Rosaline was an open book so he could easily decipher her fears and worries.

Xavier then slowly removed his grip from her chin and cupped her right cheek in his palm. He leaned forward and placed a lingering kiss on her forehead making Rosaline close her eyes. He then rested his forehead on hers and inhaled sharply.

"It's not like that Rosebud. I trust you, my love. I trust you more than myself but I just don't trust those wolves who are there, waiting for you. Especially that trickster. I can't take such a big risk moreover when you had just been snatched from the jaws of death.", Xavier said in a worried tone and kissed her eyes. Rosaline looked at him and smiled. She then grabbed his silver chain which was dangling from his neck and started playing with it.

"I know that sweetheart. I know I am naive and don't possess such a sharp and cunning mind like you all but I know one thing for sure, V will never harm me. You yourself said that he loves me and also V has never tried to force himself on me. He maybe unrelenting or shrewd but he will never stoop this low. I am guaranteed that V will never-"

Rosaline immediately halted in midway when she felt Xavier's chest vibrating at an abnormal pace. His harsh and deep breaths fanned her forehead making the hair on her nape stand in alert mode.

Rosaline squeezed her eyes shut feeling Xavier's body shaking in fury, the heat of his anger emanating from his skin caused goosebumps all over her body. She slowly unfolded her scared orbs and lifted her head up. A shriek escaped her lips which instantly got muffled as Xavier harshly slammed his lips on her soft, plump ones making her jolt in her place.

Rosaline fisted his shirt when Xavier started moving his lips aggressively against her. Anger was evident in his rough yet hot kiss and she could feel that. Xavier then grabbed her nape and threaded his long fingers in her thick locks as he pressed her soft lips more towards his hungry ones. Rosaline lowered her guards and waited for him to simmer down. It wasn't a deliberate move but she knew that her words had triggered him badly and now she is the only one who has to bear the brunt.

Xavier lowered his other hand to her waist and lifted her off the ground. Rosaline's grip on his shirt tightened as her toes were barely touching the ground. Xavier then gave a harsh bite on her lower lip making it bleed. Rosaline gasped and he immediately thrusted his tongue in her mouth and started sucking her tongue wildly. She yelped when Xavier slammed her petite figure on the wall. He finally pulled off making the girl struggle for oxygen.

Rosaline was busy galloping air but her heart nearly came out of her ribcage when Xavier abruptly gripped her throat, not too harshly and made her look in his raging orbs.

"YOU REALLY WANT ME TO TIE YOU UP? ARE YOU THAT DESPERATE FOR PUNISHMENT?", he growled on her face. Rosaline shrivelled in her place and immediately shook her head in denial.

"No, I- I was just trying to tell you that Vincent would never harm m-"

"KATHERINE WAS WORKING FOR VINCENT!!" Xavier finally exploded. Rosaline became stunned by his words.

"W-What?" Her words came out as a mere whisper as she was beyond shocked. Xavier instantly placed her down and got away from her. He pushed his hair back with his fingers revealing his broad forehead.

"No doubt Katherine was in our team but she was still in touch with Vincent. She fooled us and for the first time in my life, I got played. Her motto was simple, to destroy the Scorpions. Jennifer had suspected her of espionage but she couldn't cite any evidence against her which compelled me to believe her. But today Katherine herself confessed her crimes which left me in a dilemma because if Vincent had sent her here to spy us then why did she targeted you?", Xavier spat in anger. Rosaline kept listening to him silently as she had practically run out of words.

"On further catechizing, Katherine told me that though she was sent her as a spy but that bitch fell for me. She wanted to have me at any costs that's why she tried to kill you that day in the elevator but I saved you.", Xavier said. Rosaline palmed her mouth in shock.

"It was Katherine that day?", she couldn't believe her ears. Xavier nodded.

"Not only that day, that slut had tried to kill you multiple times but one after another all her plans got failed. She had even cut all her links with Vincent as she got deviated from her plan. Finally, after getting defeated, Katherine became frustrated and joined hands with Ashton. They made a deal. Ashton will hunt you down which will naturally kill me. It was like killing two birds with one stone. But fortunately, again it didn't work out.", Xavier said in his deep voice. He then looked at Rosaline who was sobbing silently. She had covered her mouth with her palms and was crying hard.

Xavier's heart twitched with pain. He immediately pulled her in his arms and hugged her tightly. Rosaline burst into tears and started sobbing hard.

"I didn't want to tell you this but you left me with no choice. Rosebud, please try to understand. I know life with me is not a bed full of roses. Each and every step we take is filled with dangers, risks and getting hunted down by the wolves who are hungry for power and dominance. That's why I am advising to stay on your toes all the time. Your ambivalent attitude has already landed you up in so many troubles earlier, now for God’s sake listen to me and do as I say. Alright?", Xavier said to her in a soft voice. Rosaline buried her face in his chest and sniffed.

"I just wanted to help you.", she told him making Xavier smile at her innocence. He knew that Rosaline was too pure for this cruel world but her innocence is what urges him to love her more and tempts him to keep her safe and hidden from everyone.

Xavier then broke the hug gently and cupped her face in his palms.

"I know that Rosebud but you can only help me if you just listen to me. Try to understand love, it's for the best. Hmm?", he cooed and rubbed his thumb over her chubby cheeks. Rosaline meekly nodded still wearing a long face.

"Alright I won't say anything anymore if that's what you want from me. I just hope things get sorted soon without involving any violence or bloodshed.", she replied.

Suddenly her eyes lit up as an idea popped in her mind. She looked at Xavier with hopeful eyes making him confused. "Can you promise me something Xavier?"

Xavier hummed in response and pecked her nose.

"Don't kill Vin-"

"Rosebud"

Xavier growled and placed his index finger over her cherry lips in a warning manner. Rosaline instantly bobbed her head as she got his message.

"Okay, okay I won't take his name but please I don't want you to kill him. Please Xavier, if you win don't take the law in your hands instead just hand him over to the police. I know V- I mean he did wrong but still I don't want you to stain your hands with blood anymore. Please promise me this."; Rosaline pleaded him with puppy eyes. Although Xavier didn't like the way she was trying to save Vincent from his wrath but he knew she was only worried for him.

Xavier flashed her a smile and kissed her lips.

"Okay" he replied making Rosaline smile brightly. She hugged him out of happiness. Xavier chuckled and wrapped his arms around her waist. He pecked her crown and rested his chin on it.

"Thanks a lot Xavier. I love you.", Rosaline chirped excitedly. A gasp left her mouth when Xavier grabbed her hips and in one swift motion lifted her up in air. Rosaline immediately wrapped her legs around his waist and coiled her arms around his neck.

"X-Xavier?", she asked him nervously while her cheeks turned red when she looked in his eyes which were gleaming with desire and admiration.

"I want something more than a mere thank you."
