Chapter 5 Safe

"Nana Celia, I'll take care of it. You don't have to do that for me anymore."

Slowly I told mother Celia one of the Solidads housemates. Sometimes I read my books or draw some of my works here when I want some view of this greens. And now that it has crossed my mind, I have decided to take the book I started yesterday and read it as I used to. Maybe I'll go to the beach later because the sunshine is pretty high there.

It was about 9 in the morning when I started to read, freeing myself from all the worries that I might have if I just loose myself from overthinking so much. And when I noticed it, the rays or the sun have reached my feet already without even realizing. I'm sure it will be noon because every time the heat of the sun reaches this part I have memorized it.

I jumped a bit when I heard Nanay Celia shouting at the top of her lungs and when I looked back at the big door of this house Aling Letty, one of the housemates here, was running and didn't seem to hear Nanay Celia's sigh. Mother Celia came in again and I decided to follow her to calm her down but even before I could leave I saw some figures get out of a familiar car. I gulped due to sudden slight shockness because I'm familiar of that car. I wasn't mistaken because after a woman and two men I wasn't familiar with and I didn't know came down, he was struck by my sight.

He was not wearing the same clothes when I saw him the last time because he's on a simple jeans and fit plain black shirt paring with boat type of shoes. He was looking different. He was kind of serious while having a chit chat with his friends? workmates?

I don't know. He checked his phone for a moment and when I less expected it, I met his eyes and unlike the previous days it seemed like he just looked at me and didn't mind my presence with him.

Oh why Ava Cryreese? Do you even matter? They continued to approach the door of this house and holding my breath I bent down and hugged the book tightly as they passed me. I don’t know why there is so little pinch of joy in my heart to see him. I don't know where's it comming from.

I should get used to this. He will be staying here for a while and it's normal for him to just be on my sight every now and then because he is here Ava. This is just normal. I waited a few more minutes and decided to go inside. I expect them to be in the living room but I guess It was a serious matter about his work because they will probably go straight to the office. That was all and I took the stairs to the second floor to deliver my luggage. When I reached the door I knocked for a few times like I always do as a respect then get inside. I immediately saw Sir Levi's serious figure and the moment I grabbed the attention of his companions but the woman I had met earlier did not stop speaking.

She's graciously speaking business and technical terms that I don't understand in front of the table where Sir Levi sits but that didn't stop me from serving the food that I was holding in the mini table of this office. I am now in the middle of two men on my left and the woman on my right. I act slow and am afraid to make a mess because there are no Solids in front of me so only one mistake will make me angry.

While I was serving the food, I can feel this one guy with a casual clothes in the right side of the table follows every move that I make and It made me uncomfortable. Beacause he’s infront of me, I followed his gaze on my body and I wasn’t wrong. I slightly looked at him and I saw him smirk. I quickly averted my eyes and just set down the last plate.

Suddenly, Levi's clearing of throat thundered around the room. As if it was intentional and you need to notice it. I heard the woman stop speaking and when I looked back at them I saw Sir Levi's dark stare at me and the woman's turn as well. I just hugged my tray and quickly turned around to leave. I heard the woman continue speaking as I cleaned the room.

It was the second time I came back with the beverages on this tray and served it like I did a while ago, I still couldn't help but look back at the man who had been staring at me. I was about to serve the last drink when I felt something brushed on my thigh.

I just ignored it because I think the strap of the white dress I was wearing had come off and was touching my leg.

"Enough."

I heard the woman's appeal as if she didn't agree with what she wanted. I was about to go out carrying the tray I was holding when,

"Ava, you stay."

"I didn't expect you to come here and serve those trays," He gently said.

"And I didn't expect Ethan to harrased you in that way. I'm sorry."

I frowned at what he said and thought and when I went back to the events before I knew what he was saying. I can feel my shiver down to my spinal due to the terrifying circumstance. I was harrased and I didn't even notice it.

Without even realizing it !? I couldn’t help but roll my eyes and restrain myself from crying at the unexpected fear I felt when this man infront of me suddenly brushed my right cheek, so gently.

"Shhh."

He met the little gapped between us as he calmed me. My eyes were already full of tears when I looked at him and he was blury.

"Are you always that naive?"

I almost melted with ease when he said this. I don’t know if he was annoyed with me or he was secretly pleading. That irritated tone that I'll always be willing to hear. I was preventing my tears to fall with my full strength but I failed. I could see his gaze following the tears that dripped down my cheeks that I couldn't figure out why.
