#1268 - Chapter 1268 Dreaming
Ye Kong didn't know how long he had slept.
Lost in dreams, unaware of being a traveler, he indulged in fleeting joy. Scenes flashed through his mind like a movie replay, leaving him with a splitting headache upon waking.
It felt as if something was flooding his brain, but he couldn't quite grasp it.
He could hear faint whispers and hurried footsteps nearby.
Then, Ye Kong slowly opened his eyes.
The glaring sunlight instantly made him feel as if he were back in the Boundless Realm. Then, Ye Kong's eyes began to focus, and the blurry shadows gradually transformed into shapes. First, there were scattered figures, and then a large crowd of people.
Only then did Ye Kong realize that he was lying in a bustling marketplace. His clothes had been changed to coarse linen garments. In front of him was an umbrella stall, and the stall owner was loudly hawking his wares.
Ye Kong supported himself as he sat up, clutching his head. A customer walked over and teasingly asked the stall owner, "Xu Nuo, did you bring your little lover out to soak up the sun and attract customers again?"
Xu Nuo replied with a smile, "Don't talk nonsense, Brother Mei. Do you want to buy an umbrella?"
"The weather is so clear, who needs an umbrella? Xu Nuo, your craftsmanship is good, but why don't you find some other business to do?" Brother Mei kindly suggested.
"It will probably rain within half an hour," a gentle voice sounded from behind.
Xu Nuo immediately turned around, asking with great delight, "You're finally awake! It seems Sister Furong was right, you need to absorb more popularity to wake up."
After speaking, Xu Nuo remembered what Ye Kong had just said, "By the way, you said it would rain later, why?"
As soon as he asked this question, a gust of wind suddenly arose, followed by increasingly strong winds. The sky suddenly darkened. The sky, which had been clear just moments before, was now covered by large, wind-swept dark clouds.
Within minutes, a torrential downpour began to fall.
"Quick, pack up and leave!"
Everyone was hurrying to pack their belongings.
Ye Kong stood up and stopped Xu Nuo from packing up the stall, saying with amusement, "Isn't the rain the perfect time for you to sell umbrellas? Quickly open them all up."
Xu Nuo frantically opened the umbrellas, with Ye Kong assisting him. Soon, people noticed and bought umbrellas for emergencies, and gradually, most of the umbrellas were sold. Ye Kong looked at the sparsely populated market and asked, "Where is the largest restaurant here?"
Xu Nuo led Ye Kong to the entrance of Drunken Immortal Pavilion.
Drunken Immortal Pavilion was a three-story building, entirely constructed with antique wooden structures. The interior, especially the all-gold interior room, was incredibly luxurious, a place frequented by the wealthy and powerful. Others could only stand far away, or consider themselves fortunate to be able to go inside and order a cup of tea, which would cost the price of several umbrellas.
Ye Kong nodded, pointing to a nearby stall, "Then let's have Yangchun noodles."
"Ah?" Xu Nuo asked again as if he hadn't heard clearly, "I have money now, you can eat whatever you want."
"This is fine," Ye Kong stretched out his leg, already walking over, striding forward and sitting down, "Waiter, two bowls of Yangchun noodles."
Xu Nuo walked over at this time, "You're a very interesting person."
Ye Kong looked around, lowering his voice and asking, "Where is this place?"
"I thought you would never ask me," Xu Nuo smiled and breathed a sigh of relief.
"This is Jing'an Town."
"Then, who am I?" Ye Kong quickly went through his mind, confirming that he had never heard of this place. It was also completely outside the hundred-mile radius of the Qing Ting Pavilion.
Where had he drifted to?
"I found you by the river when I was collecting bamboo nearby," Xu Nuo said.
At this time, two bowls of Yangchun noodles had been served. Ye Kong pushed the bowl of noodles over, picked up his chopsticks, and first put a mouthful into his mouth, immediately wincing from the heat.
Xu Nuo laughed even more when he saw this, softly saying, "Eat slowly."
Adding, "You don't seem to care how you got here, it's like you don't care about anything."
After speaking, the tone became heavier.
"You were unconscious for a whole half month!"
"Has it been that long?" Ye Kong took another bite, this time the Yangchun noodles were not hot, and he could even enjoy the deliciousness.
How pleasant.
"Yes! I found many doctors to treat you, and many people said you were beyond saving. In the end, I still saved you. And, you try it, isn't the pain in your body gone?" Xu Nuo looked for praise and gratitude with a smug look.
Unexpectedly, Ye Kong only said 'oh', completely ignoring how Xu Nuo, as his savior, had dragged him back from the river, healed his wounds one by one, and taken care of him day and night.
Fine, fine, so you're going to ignore me, right?
Xu Nuo ate the noodles with a pout, no longer speaking.
After eating, Ye Kong followed behind Xu Nuo as they walked.
Xu Nuo suddenly turned around, her tone stiff, "You've already woken up, you don't need to follow me anymore."
"I feel like I haven't fully recovered yet, my chest still hurts a little," Ye Kong clutched his chest, feigning pain.
Xu Nuo immediately softened, "Where does it hurt? Let me see."
Ye Kong said, "It's just that there may still be residual toxins in my heart, I'm afraid it will take a long time to recover."
Now Xu Nuo didn't mention driving Ye Kong away.
The two were walking back on the road when three people walked out of Drunken Immortal Pavilion, calling out to them, "You two, don't leave yet!"
Ye Kong turned around.
The person at the front was first stunned, and then said after looking for a long time, "You, you are Ye Kong!" His voice trembled.
"You are Ye Kong?" Xu Nuo's voice rang out from the side.
"What's wrong?" Ye Kong didn't pay attention to the person in front of him, but lowered his head to look at Xu Nuo, he could clearly feel that Xu Nuo's voice was wrong.
Xu Nuo was silent for a long time.
So long that Ye Kong was impatient, even wanting to reach out and lift Xu Nuo's face. At this moment, Xu Nuo raised her face, her face filled with anger and resentment. Her hands were clenched tightly, and her entire voice was roared out from her chest, "You, you are actually Ye Kong!"
Xu Nuo had completely changed, from the bright and flowery woman she was just now to the current vengeful person. All it took was hearing the two words Ye Kong.
Passersby on the street, hearing the name Ye Kong, also stopped in their tracks.
"What have I done? I actually saved my enemy!" This sentence was shouted to the sky, and then, Xu Nuo glared at Ye Kong.
"Ye Kong, I saved your life, now return it to me!"
