The knock on her chamber doors came exactly at nine that evening, and Kit wasn’t surprised by it. Landon seemed like a punctual fellow, one who had been waiting for this opportunity for quite some time, and when she’d seen him at dinner only a few hours previously, he was glowing with anticipation. She’d enjoyed watching him from a distance as his smile beamed brighter than the candles that lit the tables.

“You look lovely,” he said as she stepped back into the antechamber. He was wearing the same tunic, jerkin, and trousers he’d worn to dinner, in his province’s colors of gold and green. She thought he looked better in blue since it matched his eyes, but with his light hair and fair complexion, he couldn’t look poorly in anything, especially with such broad shoulders and the sort of flat stomach Kit imagined one could wash the laundry on.

She was wearing only her thick, purple robe over her chemise, so she wasn’t quite sure how she could look particularly lovely, but she thanked him for the compliment. The rain that had begun to fall earlier that evening was enough to cool off the heat of the day, though it wasn’t chilly enough in her rooms for a fire. Still, this robe had been preferable to the thinner one she’d often wore recently because of the heat of summer.

Taking him by the hand, Kit led him into the interior chamber. She’d arrived in enough time to deposit a sheath and the special lubricant from the physician on the nightstand. With the bedclothes pulled back, all she needed now was this man to take her. The glint in Landon’s eyes assured her he would not disappoint.

“Is there anything I need to know before I ravish you?” he asked in a heady whisper that had tingles spreading up and down Kit’s spine.

She couldn’t remember anyone ever asking her that question. “Not that I can think of,” she replied, wondering what in the world he was even referring to.

“Good.” Using just the tips of his fingers, he trailed a line from the side of her face down her neck, and Kit shivered in anticipation. “Then, I hope I can show you a few things, Princess.”

Kit liked the idea of that, though she wondered what there might be that she didn’t already know. Before she could think on it too deeply, his mouth was on her neck, and Kit found herself gasping for air.

Landon’s palm rested against her face, his mouth consuming the sensitive flesh where her shoulder and neck met. His free hand pulled loose the belt of her robe, and he removed the garment quickly, the fabric puddling at her feet. His teeth nipped at her flesh, as he sucked and kissed his way to the thin fabric of her chemise. Light as it was, Kit wished it was out of the way.

Her fingers fumbled for his waist. She wished she was as smooth as he was and could jerk his belt away just as quickly, but the sensation of his warm mouth on her skin had her distracted. Landon reached in to help, pulling his trousers down with the same motion, and she wondered when he’d taken his boots off, or had he even been wearing any to begin with?

He moved back slightly, grinning at her with enthusiasm, as he pulled his jerkin and tunic off with a practiced skill she imagined he must’ve taken many attempts to master. Her palm immediately went to his chest. Smooth and muscular, she couldn’t help but run her hand over him. Though he wasn’t quite as broad chested as Cassius, he was a close second. But Landon had other features that made him spectacular all on his own, including the ripple of abs that disappeared into the waist of his breeches.

“You seem to be clothed still, my lady,” he said, his hands coming to rest on her hips. “I think it’s time to remedy that.”

If she had wanted to protest, she wouldn’t have had time to think of the words as he pulled her chemise down from her shoulders, slipping her breasts out the top, and pressing the gown, which was meant to go off over her head, down to the floor. She didn’t mind at all as his hands moved to cup her breasts. “You are exquisite, my beautiful Princess,” Landon whispered, tugging gently on each of her nipples before moving to press a palm against one as he continued to thumb the other.

Kit had never experienced anything quite like this before. She stepped closer to him, wishing his mouth was on her, but he didn’t lean down to kiss her. Placing her hands on his shoulders, she took in the feel of his rough hands against her, pressing into him, closing her eyes in anticipation.

Landon removed his right hand and slid it down her stomach. Through slitted eyes, Kit looked up at him as his fingers intertwined the soft down between her legs, and then his fingers were inside of her, two, then three. They were long and thick, and at his first touch, she found herself lost in an explosion of sensation. Already wet from his teasing, she couldn’t help but rock into his palm with each thrust. Kit increased her grip on his shoulders, afraid she might fall backward on unsteady legs as he brought her just to the brink of ecstasy.

He was lifting her before she realized her feet were off of the floor, taking her to the bed. His hand was still inside of her, the other cupped around her buttocks, and she pulled herself up by grasping his shoulders, not wanting to let go. He lay her on the edge of the bed, and Kit let out a moan of protest when his one hand left her rump and then the other slid from between her legs. But his mouth only strayed away from hers for a few seconds as she realized he was reaching for the sheath.

Without his hands on her, Kit felt a chill. She fumbled with her nipple, watching him remove his breeches and unroll the sheath onto his thick cock. He lifted her legs and wrapped them around his waist, and she gripped him tightly, wishing he’d press into her already, but he seemed to be enjoying watching her writhe in anticipation. When he finally did thrust into her, it was one solid movement, deep and hard, and Kit yelped in pleasure, taking him all in at once and expanding around him.

“Do you like that?” he asked, bending to kiss her as he pulled her even closer.

“Yes,” was all Kit could manage. His hands on her hips steadied them as Landon began to thrust in and out of her. Somehow, it seemed like each went deeper, though she didn’t know how that was possible. She thought she’d enveloped him completely from the first pounding of his hips into the back of her thighs.

It was rough, fast, hard, and Kit wasn’t used to it at all. But she liked it. Landon was much more vocal than any of her previous lovers. He grunted and groaned and even said a few swear words as he moved his hips forward and backward in perfect timing. Despite the speed and power behind each movement, Landon seemed to last much longer than most, and Kit wavered on the peak of pleasure, falling over the edge and coming back several times for what seemed like hours. She lost all track of time as wave after wave of ecstasy overcame her.

At last, Landon tired. With one more gyration, he spent his seed, leaving Kit panting for air, disappointed it was over but thankful she would have a chance to regain her composure. Landon pulled himself out and fell onto the bed beside her, also breathing deeply.

It took only a moment of sucking in air before he pulled her up off of the edge of the bed and wrapped her in his arms, peppering the top of her head with kisses and pulling her to his chest. They were both glistening with sweat, and Kit felt as if she’d been on a long run through the forest, or a lengthy hike down the castle corridors. But she wore a blissful smile, and when she opened her eyes to glance at Landon, she saw the same sentiment echoed there.

“Are you satisfied?” he asked quietly in her ear.

Kit was still incapable of speaking so she only said, “Mmm hmmm.”

“Good.”

She remembered what had happened the last time he’d given her that one word answer, and Kit thought she was far too exhausted for another round that night. Perhaps in the morning....

Something told her he would be ready to go again in a few moments if she didn’t dissuade him. Rolling over, she leaned up, trailing her fingertips down his chest as she smiled at him. “I’m quite tired, Landon of Brendrake,” she said, still gasping in air. “Would you care to sleep in here with me?”

That grin she loved so well spread across his face. “Yes, of course, Princess.”

Giggling at his enthusiasm for sleep, Kit leaned down and pecked his cheek. Perhaps it was the fact that he was the youngest Representative that allowed him to be so full of energy, or maybe he was just naturally full of zest, but Kit realized she would need to ensure she had a good night’s sleep before she invited Landon to her chambers in the future.

He hopped up, no longer spent. “Would you like your chemise?”

Realizing the fabric was probably stretched beyond repair, she said, “No, thank you.” He smiled at her once more, and Kit took him in. His magnificent form almost had her wanting to go for round two, but the hunt and subsequent issue with the dismissed Representatives had taken a lot out of her. She leaned up on her elbow, intending to move up to the pillows, but before she could even move, Landon was there, picking her up once more, and placing her in the spot nearest the window. He pulled the blankets up and over her, kissing her lovingly on the forehead. “Goodnight, beautiful Princess Katrinetta,” he whispered.

“Goodnight, Landon.” Kit closed heavy eyes, and a few moments later when he slid across the sheets, she adjusted to rest her head on his arm, welcoming sleep to her weary body.
