#128 - Chapter 128 Passing By
On the highway.
As the oncoming vehicles drew closer, all the team members grew serious.
It was the first time they had encountered a group of this size in the apocalypse.
They were vastly different from the survivors they had met before!
Before long.
The two convoys finally approached each other, stopping about 30 meters apart.
Two men in bulletproof vests jumped out of the lead off-road vehicle on the opposite side, walked forward a few steps, and raised their hands to show they meant no harm.
Qin Jin pondered for less than two seconds before also jumping out of the car.
With his current skills and strength, even if the other party had guns, he was confident he could dodge before the bullets were fired.
And don't forget he also had danger prediction.
He walked to the front of the Saber-toothed Tiger, staring at the two men who had come down, wanting to see what they had to say before deciding how to deal with them.
The two men across the way secretly exchanged glances. One of them, a weathered middle-aged man about 1.75 meters tall with short hair, spoke:
"Friends on the other side, which shelter are you from? Is it convenient to chat?"
A very cautious statement.
Qin Jin stared at him, seeing that he didn't seem to have any malicious intent. He didn't want any trouble here that would lead to team member losses, so he said:
"We're just a group of ordinary survivors. As for where we're from? There's no need to know, right? If everyone has nothing to do, let's make way for each other and leave."
Hearing this, the person on the other side couldn't help but be stunned. He didn't expect that this group, whose convoy looked extremely large, would be unwilling to communicate with him.
To show sincerity, he couldn't help but say some not-so-important information about his side first.
"We are from the Yangcheng Shelter. This is our team searching for food and supplies. We have no malice. We just think that since we are all surviving humans, we can help each other if needed!"
His tone was very sincere, and the words he spoke were impeccable.
Unfortunately, he was overthinking things.
Facing this group claiming to be from the Yangcheng Shelter, Qin Jin recalled some memories from his previous life. If he remembered correctly, this Yangcheng Shelter was the largest human survivor gathering place in Yangcheng.
In the early days of the apocalypse, it had gathered tens of thousands of survivors, but later it declined rapidly due to some disasters and events. He had met many people from this shelter, so he knew a little about it.
Since that was the case, he had even less desire to chat. He wasn't very interested in a place that was about to disappear, and he might as well transport the heavy weapons home earlier and deal with the next pile of things.
He didn't even want to reveal too much information and cause unnecessary trouble.
"We are survivors from nearby, rushing home. Let's just say goodbye here."
Towards the end, his tone had already turned cold, and he was also retreating, looking like he was about to get into the car.
Seeing this, the middle-aged man couldn't continue to pursue communication, and shouted to Qin Jin:
"In that case, I won't disturb you. The road is a bit narrow. In a while, our convoy will pull over, and you can slowly drive past first."
The middle-aged man said this.
Ignoring the other man next to him who suddenly looked shocked and stared at him.
"That's for the best."
Qin Jin glanced at him, said this, and flashed into the Saber-toothed Tiger.
The middle-aged man walked back a few steps and shouted a few times towards his convoy. Then their cars also began to slowly drive to the side of the road, actually making way.
Qin Jin looked at the scene in front of him in the car, felt that there was no major problem, and used the walkie-talkie to say to the team channel again:
"Everyone, pay attention in a while! It's best if nothing happens, but if they dare to play tricks, then there's no need to be polite!"
"Let's go!"
The huge Green Source convoy started again, led by the Saber-toothed Tiger.
The middle-aged man who spoke earlier and another man stood on the emergency lane, their eyes staring at the starting convoy. The younger man couldn't help but say:
"Captain! Are we just letting them go like this!? Not asking them to join our shelter or asking more questions?"
In his opinion, their Yangcheng Shelter was the most powerful existence in the nearby cities, and others should be willing to join.
The middle-aged man didn't look at him, his eyes still staring at the moving convoy.
The more he looked, the wider his eyes opened, until the Saber-toothed Tiger drove past him, and Qin Jin was also on it, staring at him coldly.
After the Saber-toothed Tiger drove past, it was another mighty modified explosion-proof vehicle, followed by baskets of large modified heavy trucks, among which there were actually several military heavy trucks that he had seen on TV during peacetime!
The middle-aged man swallowed, and then replied to the younger man:
"Do you think these people would join our shelter?"
"I advise you not to have any ideas now! Otherwise, we might not even know how we died!"
In fact, without his reminder, the man next to him also felt his scalp tingling.
He was also stunned.
Before, when they looked at the Green Source convoy from this direction, they could only roughly see that this was a team with many cars. They only knew that there were some large cars behind, but most of their attention was still attracted by the leading Saber-toothed Tiger, knowing that this group was not easy to mess with.
But he didn't know that their convoy was so huge!
And so strong!
Later, they also saw many giant semi-trailer flatbeds!
They didn't know what kind of giant supplies were loaded on the back of the trucks, all tightly wrapped in waterproof tarpaulins.
The things on the back of several of them were actually four or five meters high, and the sense of oppression from driving past them was extremely strong!
At the end, there were also three armored vehicles with machine guns mounted on the roofs!
Damn!
Each of them had a fully armed person grabbing a machine gun. They had no doubt that if they had made any moves just now, those machine guns would have swept them into a hornet's nest!
The people in their convoy were also dumbfounded.
The Green Source convoy all slowly drove past, slowly moving away in their sight, until they completely disappeared at the end of the highway, and they woke up from their dream.
"Damn! Are these people from the military!?"
The younger man couldn't help but blurt out a curse, and said with lingering fear.
He had been thinking about pulling this chance encounter survivor convoy to get some information or see if there were any benefits to be picked up, but he didn't expect this to be a Tyrannosaurus Rex!
He silently touched the pistol on his waist. This was because he was a middle-level figure in the shelter, the deputy leader who followed the captain to search for supplies, and he had the right to own a weapon.
Their entire convoy searching for supplies only had 1 machine gun and 3 pistols.
Not many bullets either.
It was already a team near the Yangcheng Shelter that others dared not easily provoke.
But facing the group just now, he suddenly felt that the pistol on his waist was a bit boring.
What kind of people were those people just now!?
Looking at the armored vehicles behind, and the people staring at them on each car before, there was no doubt that these people had more guns and weapons!
"Let's keep going! Since people don't want to have any contact with us, let's cause less trouble!"
The middle-aged captain patted him on the shoulder, sighed, and returned to the lead off-road vehicle.
