“Your Highness, have some tea!”
Tengu poured a cup for Chen Xiaobei.
“Oh, I’m not thirsty.”
Chen Xiaobei had no intention of picking up the cup.
“If there’s nothing else, you can leave the tea here, Tengu. I will drink it on my own later.”
But Tengu refused to leave.
“You must drink your tea while it’s hot. You are an avid tea enthusiast. Why would you say something like that?”
“Why? Do you want to watch me drink this tea?” Chen Xiaobei retorted.
“This is a gesture of hospitality and I also would like to hear a tea aficionado’s comment about it!” Tengu said firmly; he definitely did not intend to leave.
But the more he insisted, the more Chen Xiaobei refused to drink it.
Both Chen Xiaobei and Demonic Fox had decided earlier on to be careful of this young man.
The fact that he kept pushing Chen Xiaobei to drink the tea right now proved that there was something wrong with the tea.
“If that’s the case, let me respond in kind, and gift you with a dessert!” Chen Xiaobei pretended to reach into his pocket and took out a piece of Heavenly Dog Biscuit from the Infinite Space Ring.
“Eat this piece of biscuit and I will drink this cup of tea!” Chen Xiaobei smiled at Tengu.

That needle was dipped in ancar <sup1</sup poison. Considering that Tengu was weaker than Chen Xiaobei, he knew that he would turn into dead meat if he failed to assassinate Chen Xiaobei. The attack was so sudden and so unexpected and they were at very close proximity. If Nikkawa Uchu was there, he would not be able to react quickly enough to avoid the needle!
Unfortunately for him, Tengu was unaware that the Nikkawa Uchu before him was actually Chen Xiaobei in disguise.

The needle hit Chen Xiaobei’s True Kang Armour and did not touch Chen Xiaobei’s palm.
“What? How could you have blocked that? That’s impossible… Impossible…”
Tengu was dazed.
All these years, he had pretended to be gentle and amiable, convincing Nikkawa Uchu that he was trustworthy.
All the other times when he interacted with Nikkawa Uchu, he had prodded him from different angles using various advancements but never once was Nikkawa Uchu able to deflect.
Tengu could not understand why.
And he would never know that the person before him was not the Nikkawa Uchu who had been charmed by him but the Chen Xiaobei who had been suspicious of him the moment they met.
Chen Xiaobei grabbed Tengu’s wrist, and twisted it so that the needle was pointing at Tengu’s eyes.
“Don’t you move! Or I cannot guarantee that my hands won’t shake!” Chen Xiaobei warned, his tone irritable.
With the needle a few inches away from his eyes, Tengu dared not even breathe.
“Tell me, why do you want to kill me?”
“The answer’s obvious. Don’t you know why?”
“If you don’t want to die, tell me now! I didn’t say that you could talk rubbish!”
“It’s because twelve years ago, I was supposed to be the one going to North Wilderness Starfield! But Phantom Rain took it away from me… I tolerated it. I put my tail between my legs and continued to serve Tenshou obediently! But 9 years ago, another person took my place! I consoled myself, convincing myself that I was still young and could wait for another 3 years. But then 6 years ago, someone else took my place! I protested and Tenshou promised that I will be next! I was so excited and thought that my time had finally come but you came into the picture and stole my place! This is the 4th time in 12 years! I’ve been waiting for so long! Do you even know how I feel? It’s like the girl whom I’ve waited for 12 years finally agreed to marry me and then get snatched away! I know that Tenshou has already made an appointment to activate the portal to North Wilderness Starfield and will be leaving in 2 – 3 days. If I kill you, then I will be able to go in your place!”
Chen Xiaobei listened to his sorry and then sighed. “Truth be told, you really are so pitiful! But like the old saying says, there must be a reason why people do not empathize with you!”
“F*ck you! I have been the victim since the beginning! You are the execrable robber!”
“Aren’t you ashamed for even thinking that? The person who took your chances away from you is not me but Tenshou! Why don’t you kill him? You bully the weak but fear the strong. What kind of man are you?”
“I…” Tengu stuttered.
This was not the first time his chance was taken away from him. Even if Nikkawa Uchu was not on the list this year, others might be next on the list.
The root of the problem was Tenshou!
Tengu wished to kill Nikkawa Uchu but not Tenshou. This was the typical case of bully the weak but fear the strong. He was obviously trying to run away from the root of the problem. If he did not do something about it now, he would never be able to be granted the permission to go to North Wilderness Starfield!
“Alright. The milk was already spilled. I won’t kill you. I will just present you and your poisoned needle and tea to Tenshou!”
“No! Please don’t hand me over to Tenshou! He will kill me… Please let me go! I promise that I will disappear and never show my face again!”
“Do you think I’m stupid?” Chen Xiaobei rolled his eyes at him. “You and I are not friends. What do I can from letting you go?”
“Alright! If you don’t hand me over to Tenshou, I will bring you to his treasury!”
