Chapter 23: Playing Stalker

I received report from Edril that morning that Jade has just moved out of her parent’s home and was presently living in a dormitory.

I felt sad when I heard this. I was actually looking forward to fetching Jade to and from her house. It would have taken around three to four hours to get Jade home with all the traffic. I could have spent more time with her had she not changed houses for the moment.

Today, I watched as that Mr. Ratty President with perpetually perfect hair walked Jade back into her dorm.

Although I detested the notion at all, I let it happen. First, because I already got into Jade’s bad side twice today. I didn’t want to further increase her heartaches on me if I really wanted her back into my life.

Second, I wanted to know where Jade was staying, and if I were to offer her to come home with me, I didn’t think she’ll accept my offer… especially now that she’s pretending to be in a relationship with that jerk.

Now, to be exact, it has been two hours since they went inside the dorm building, and that rat hasn’t come down yet…

Is it possible that they’d be doing something only lovers do?

“Alpha Kix, sir, please calm down,” Edril said beside me. I made him follow me here on the convenience store across Jade’s dorm, fearing that I may miss that rat if I don’t have another set of eyes tailing them.

“How can I calm down,” I said exasperatedly. “That rat is with Jade right now! He is with her for two f*cking hours! What could they be doing in there?!”

“Um, there could be many reasons why they’re still together at this hour…”

“Many reasons?! What sane reasons could there be?!” Between a boy and a girl who happen to like each other, there could only be one reason they are still together at this time!

“M-Maybe they are working on their research? You did say they are research partners, alpha, so -”

“What kind of lame excuse could that be,” I told Edril angrily, slamming my fist on the table. Several customers at the convenience store looked at me with fear in their eyes, but I don’t give a damn!

“I’m sorry, sir. Can I ask you to leave? The people here are getting frightened by you,” the store manager approached me.

I looked at the store manager, and he almost jumped out. I had no patience to control my temper now.

“Edril, explain to this guy why he can’t drive us out,” I snapped at my assistant.

“Hey what are you -,” the store manager protested, but Edril stood up quickly, showing him a paper we had just signed a few minutes ago after pulling some strings and calling some people.

“Mister, this here is the deed of sale for this convenience store. My master here is the new owner of this store… You can’t possible drive him out if you don’t want to lose your job this instant.”

The store manager’s mouth was hanging so wide that mosquitoes could have easily flown in it. He immediately bowed his head towards us when he came to his senses.

“Sir, I’m so sorry, sir, um, Mr. Owner, Mr. CEO… I’ll make sure I drive the nasty customers out if they begin to complain how scary you are.”

As soon as he said this, he quickly ordered his subordinates to do their jobs extra well.

Ah, thankfully, Edril was always someone who remained level-headed even though I was almost blackened out with rage. If I didn’t have him, a fight could have already broken out since I was so angry at the moment!

“This can’t be! I cannot wait any longer, Edril,” I said. I stood from table and proceeded to remove my jacket. I would have removed every article of clothing I had and was already halfway through removing my shirt, when I saw the store manager and the other personnel ogling at my exposed abs and about to be naked body.

“Calm down, sir… Are you really going to do it? Are you going to spy on them?”

“Well, if she was your mate, what would you have done,” I asked. I handed him my jacket and spoke loud enough only for Edril’s ear. “Wait for me in the car. Bring me fresh clothes when I get back.”

I hate to see this uniform get ripped. It had my Jade’s scent on it, so I was planning to save it, but my mission now was more important.

I walked around the other side of the dorm building, looking for ways on how I could enter. Thank Goddess, the fence at the back was low, and there were balconies at the back of the building.

My Jade was on the third floor. Room number 307, to be exact… All I needed now was a place to transform into my wolf safely.

Finally, I found a poorly lit side street near the back of Jade’s dorm. I hid myself in there and channeled Riley’s form.

Transforming into a wolf was second nature to me and was as easy as breathing. I was only sad that my uniform had to be torn away in the process.

However for my Jade, I am willing to do anything! I’m sure she’ll thank me for rescuing her from her sordid date with that rat Liam.

‘Good Goddess, Jade is on a date,’ Riley, my wolf said in our head in exasperation. He started to get annoyed and nervous, the fur in his tail sticking out in irritation. ‘Why the hell did you only summon me now? We should have stopped it before it happened! Plus, it has been two hours already! What if they were -?’

‘What,’ I thundered impatiently in our shared thoughts.

‘What if they were already kissing in bed, like in the movies?’

I wanted to strangle Riley. I hated his innocent and at the same time I loathed his probably accurate thoughts right now…

‘Then, get your ass up to our mate’s room, make a mess, and stop them,’ I said impatiently.

I didn’t have to tell Riley to do this at all. At the very moment, he was already on the third floor balcony and had already identified Jade’s room through her scent.

We landed softly on Jade’s transparent balcony, and we were utterly surprised by what we saw.
