Chapter 57: Make It Up To Me
JADE:
This was terrible… Perhaps I was in another nightmare where I had not yet woken up, right? If so, anyone, someone, please wake me up!
I blinked back several times, but I was still here…
Rats! Kix was still here!
I felt somebody tug at my shirt from behind. Double rats! Liam was also here…
It really did happen… I had a lustful encounter with Liam in the infirmary while Kix was there…
I couldn’t breathe. I wanted to run, but I couldn’t move too. What should I do?
The unsuspecting nurse walked towards Kix’s side of the bed. She was busy organizing her first aid kit.
Suddenly, Kix broke the aggravating silence in the air.
“Miss Nurse, don’t worry about me. I’m fine. Just please sign this slip, and then I will go back to class with our Miss Vice President over there.”
He pointed at me, his eyes looking hard. I wanted to cry out.
“Um, are you sure? I heard you had a fight with that boy over there. You were classmates, right?”
“Yes,” Kix replied.
“Then you might have sustained some injuries.”
“No. I can go back to class,” Kix said again with a hard expression on his face.
Despite trying to keep it all cool, I could see the outpour of emotions in Kix’s gray eyes. They looked absolutely hurt.
How long had Kix been here? Did he hear us?... Did he hear everything?...
My body was trembling in the realization of what I had just done.
Of all times, of all places, why must he be here? Why must I hurt him like this?
“Okay… If it’s alright with her, then I think its fine to go back. You don’t seem to have incurred any wounds that need tending, anyway,” I heard the nurse say to Kix.
She handed him back a small slip of paper after she signed it. “Head back to the Disciplinary Councilor’s Office to drop this off then, you can go back to class.”
“Miss Vice President, aren’t you coming with him,” the nurse said, turning towards me.
It took me a few more calls from the nurse before I was able to mouth an answer.
“Y-Yes…”
“Are you okay? Did you also come here because you are sick,” the nurse said, coming closer towards me.
I shook my head vehemently. What if she finds out what Liam and I just did?
“N-No, we’ll head back. I’ll come with him,” I told the nurse as calmly as I could although I knew I miserably failed.
I turned to snatch my phone next to Liam. He put his hand over mine as I reached for my phone.
“You okay,” he mouthed.
I faked a smile at him and nodded.
Hell, of course I was not okay! A big part of that was because of him, but what can I do? I just wanted to stay away from Liam’s temptation as much as I can.
The truth was I was positively turned on earlier. It took every ounce of my self-discipline to stop myself from succumbing to Liam’s strokes and kisses…
If I stay with him here and walk back with him after, I don’t know what could happen. Maybe I won’t be so strong enough the next time he makes such advances like that.
It was best to walk back with Kix… I should probably try to smooth things over with him, especially if he heard us earlier…
I wanted the ground to eat me up alive. I turned around just in time as Liam patted my head to bid goodbye.
“Let’s go,” I tentatively told Kix, to which he nodded.
My heart was making somersaults as I closed the infirmary’s door against Kix and I. My hand started to sweat profusely from nervousness.
Kix began to walk towards the direction of the Disciplinary Councilor’s Office. I walked silently behind him.
I didn’t have to see his face to know he was in a foul mood... I mean, who wouldn’t be?
Our silent parade continued until we reached the Disciplinary Councilor’s Office. The secretary was the only one there. She received Kix’s slip and let us go in peace afterwards.
We were still in a silent war after exiting the office. I couldn’t stand it any longer. I was the first one who tried to patch the rift between us.
“Kix… In the infirmary… did you-?”
“Follow me. I have something to important say,” Kix said, his voice heavy and hurt.
I didn’t protest. I walked behind him silently as he walked towards the stairs.
We walked upwards until we reached the fifth and top floor. Finally, Kix came inside the fire exit. I followed him there wordlessly.
Before I have even fully entered the fire exit, Kix held me by the wrist and pulled me inside.
“Ah, Kix!” It was so sudden that I almost screamed in shock.
He pinned me against the wall, his face looking anguished at me.
“Do you have any idea how I feel right now,” he said. His head was facing down, but I can tell that he was angry.
“I’m… I’m sorry,” I breathed out.
I don’t know what I could possibly say to make him feel better… I know I was a wretched person to have done that to him. I really was very sorry…
“Then, make it up to me,” he said, his face closing the flimsy gap between us in that cramped space.
“H-How?” My ears must have gone awry… Did he really say I must make it up to him?
“That smell of dead leaves, I hate it,” he said. Kix was coming in really close that I could smell his windy and cinnamon scent more heavily. “I hate his smell on your skin, Jade.”
I didn’t quite understand what Kix was saying. Is he saying Liam smelled like dried leaves? His cologne was minty though, not herbal…
Before I even knew what was happening, Kix pressed his lips against mine.
“Wh-… No-”
My first instinct was to push him away, but as I part my lips in protest, his tongue came in, and he used it to give me a kiss that seemed to melt me from the inside.
What the hell? Why was I letting him kiss me?...
My body trembled. I have never had a kiss like this before. Not from Liam or even from Kix a few years back.
“You owe it to me,” Kix whispered as we gasped for air. “I’m going to erase that foul scent he left on you, Jade. I’m going to make you all mine.”
He kissed me again even before I could think of anything else.
