Having Zane's hands and arms around me seems to help calm me slightly. It still doesn't do enough with all the emotions swirling through me at the moment. There is happiness, relief, guilt, sadness, and anger all making their own spots while raging a battle within me. Guilt and sadness are the main two that have the forefront of my mind and soul.
My eyes stayed glued on Blaze and Jasel, as they work the healing spell on Samson.
I can't believe my brother is alive. Sure, I wish it was my entire family but after living this many years thinking I lost them all, I will gladly take having at least one of my brothers alive and here.
Samson's skin and marks heal with the soft chants. By the time the spell is over, Samson thanks them both and talk some more before he falls into the first peaceful sleep he has had in years I would assume.
We all leave the room and Zane pulls me with him. Zane scopes me up in his arms and walks to our bedroom. Once the door is closed I am not able to hold in anymore emotions and the tears fall from my eyes at a fast rate.
Zane coos me and holds me close to his chest, as his hands run through my hair.
"I should have tried harder to find the nest. My brother would not have had to endure the torture and pain for so many years if I was better at hunting." I stutter and cry out.
"Keave." Zane whispers in my ear but it barely registers.
My heart feels like it is pounding and it starts to get hard to breath with each passing second.
"Keava!" Zane's voice booms over what ever state I have let myself fall into.
Zane's fingers go under my chin and lift my head up to where he can look me in the eyes. His eyes hold so much love and softness, it has me focusing on him.
"I need you to breath for me, tesoro." Zane's voice comes out soft.
I follow his breath and his thumbs swipe over my face tenderly.
"That is my girl." Zane leans to me more and presses a kiss to my lips.
My eyes burn and feel dry after all the tears that fell.
"You can't blame yourself, because it is known by everyone just how hard you tried to hunt that nest down. Even Samson talked about the rumors he heard while they held him and all the times they would move because you got so close." Zane looks in my eyes, almost like he is willing me to understand and not feel the way I do.
I slowly nod. Thinking over Samson's words since being with him in the medical room and after the spell. There was so many times Samson told me how I was strong, brave, and how our parents would have been proud. He told me how proud he was of me being his little sister and became what I done and didn't let the curse of vampirism to turn me for the worst.
Something hits me and turns my stomach in knots.
"There is one thing left." I pull away from Zane's embrace. "Tesoro, all the bodies are burnt to ash. I seen that for myself. It is all over now." Zane stands with me, looking confused.
"No its not. There is one thing left." I state again and send out a link to the others.
I dash from the bedroom and into my office, pulling out a book that I have kept on every dark talsman I have found, along with pictures I drew out for each one.
Zane stands next to me and I can feel his confusion turn to one of understanding through the bond. Everyone walks in and looks at me.
"What wrong Luna?" Conan speaks up first.
I glance up from the book, I have open and slide it against my desk for them all to see.
"In all the choas, none of us thought to find the dark talsman that was used to turn me." I state.
Blaze's eyes go wide. "We burned the bodies also. So if the object was on one of the vampires than it could become unstable and make issues for the magic on the loose."
Jasel looks over to Blaze. "Black magic like that could cause major troubles."
"What type of troubles? I know that it is fire Blaze used to destroy the one before when we got to watch." Conan ask looking lost.
"Black magic can't just be burned without the help of herbs. During the spell to destroy, the herbs helps the darkness fade and become stable again. Once that is done the magic will go back to the earth as an offering for the once blackness that was making the earth a little darker in return." Jasel explains out.
"By not having the black magic turn light again, there is risk of animals dying off around the area and it basically becoming a graveyard for any living thing can not survive." Blaze adds.
"That is how witches knew where black objects were hidden. Because the area around was dead." Zane looks over to them.
"Exactly. The light witches would cast spells around the area to keep the dark contained, since if they were on the land it would kill even light witches but a dark magic user could easily walk in and find the piece." Blaze tilts his head back and forth.
It is all stories we heard but never actually seen it within our life times. Or well, I have stumbled upon one place and it was horrifying to see everything dead and rotten in the small circle.
Zane, Conan, and Blaze takes off from my office. Jasel holds Chester in her arms as he sleeps, since they had already went back to their area to be with their son after leaving Samson's room.
"You should get some rest. I know they will take care of it, Keava." Jasel whispers.
"I trust them, but this is something I have to see through to know and have that feeling like I helped complete it." I sigh and hug her on the side.
"Understand that. Let me know if you need anything." Jasel smiles.
I nod and hold the door open for her to walk out easier holding Chester.
Closing the door back, I trot down the stairs and out the front door of the pack house. My eyes catch the guys digging in the ground. My feet run to the medical building.
I walk into Samson's room and see him sleeping still.
"Bubba?" I whisper and his eyes open immediately.
"Hey Keava." Samson gives a tired smile. "Is it morning already?"
"No. I am sorry to wake you but the guys are outside digging in the ground and it hit me I could ask you something."
Samson sits up and pats the bed. I move and sit down.
"Do you know if there was an object with any of the vampires? The dark talsman."
Samson looks off and slowly nods. "I don't know who had it but there was talk about them holding it to turn you again."
I sigh and nod myself. "Well the guys should find it. Blaze has to destroy it the proper way."
"Makes sense. A lot of the magic for witches is one area I know nothing much about." Samson chuckles some, before looking at me. "You need some sleep."
"I will soon, but just need to make sure that talsman is gone first." I smile and stand from the bed.
I hug him and then walk to the door, before turning around again.
"Get your rest because come tomorrow, bubba. You will be a member of Dirt Mountiain pack and we will get you set up in the packhouse. Unless you don't want to live here?"
"Are you kidding, sis? I want to live here. Your the only family left and after all the years we both have gone through I don't want to be away from you or anyone. Zane and Conan had become fast friends when we were younger and the three of us still feel the same. This feels like home." Samson smiles.
I smile back and walk out of the medical building. Going over to the guys as they are hands deep in dirt, I make it just in time to see Zane pull out the one item I have only seen once eleven years ago. The dark talsman that started a hard patch for my life before I found happiness here in this pack.
