Chapter 15 Ruined Christmas

CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY!! I loved Christmas holidays because I had a lot of things to be grateful for within the past months. My healing process after my break up with Allen, Starting Cooking Fest, meeting and making new friends like Sterling and Olivia; I was also thankful for my employees and how far the company had come during these past few months too.

It was sad that I was going to spend the Christmas celebrations alone. I couldn’t call Sterling cause I’m probably sure he would have people to spend it with and I couldn’t call Olivia either cause she has her family to spend the holiday season with.

There’s this one thing that I loved doing during this festive period and that was to ensure that all my employees in my company got their Christmas presents from the company. At least that act alone could cover up for the lack of celebration in my house.

I was reading a novel for a change when I heard faint noises coming from the kitchen area. I wondered what it was.

‘Could it be a robbery on a festive day?’

I took a baseball bat from the closet in my room and I walked stealthily towards the kitchen. I anticipated every move and I was so nervous. What if the robber was with a gun? All these thoughts ran through my mind as I walked towards the kitchen.

I reached the kitchen and I switched on the lights but found no one. I heaved a huge sigh and thought that maybe I was probably over hearing and thinking things. As I turned around to go back to my room, I saw Allen seated on my favorite couch…

‘What the hell? The nerves on this guy is repulsive’

“Allen, what the hell are you doing in my house? How did you get in? did you break in? I could call the cops on you for that,” Jeez, this guy… I wondered how I dated him for a few years.

“Well hello, my dear Phoenix. That’s not a great way to welcome your darling boyfriend now, is it?”

“Wait, what? My boyfriend, what are you talking about?”

“I am your boyfriend and you’ve been such a bad girl for leaving me for another man; that’s not a way to treat someone you love,”

What in God’s green world was happening? Was he high on something? I really am a fool for listening to this dumb ass human.

“Get up and get out of my house right thus instant!”

“Your house; baby, I own you, you can’t leave me but I’ll go, only because it’s festive season and we wouldn’t want to ruin it now, would we?” he smirked at my devilishly; the same smirk my dad always gave to me when he was about to have s*x with me. Everything about him suddenly gave me a creepy vibe.

I watched as Allen stood up to leave and I couldn’t wait for the creep to leave my house. I took notice of every step he made, just in case he wanted to try anything funny.

“But before I go, I have a Christmas present for you; I’m sure you will love it,”

“I want nothing from you, Allen; just go,”

“Hmmm, I see,” Allen suddenly stopped in his tracks and turned to look at me with that same smirk that gave me the creepy vibe. “But I want to,”

Everything happened in a flash and I was on the floor, pinned down by Allen. Allen gave me the beatings of my life and was immobile for a long while. I wasn’t given a fighting chance, so I could do nothing.

“Allen, please, don’t”

“Oh, how I have waited to hear those words from your mouth but I guess those words won’t help you now. You know, I have always wanted to know how you tasted. All those French kisses you gave me back them did me no good; treating me as though you couldn’t wait to get away from me, like my touch repulsed you,”

“No, it’s not you, it’s me. I’m sorry, just let me go,”

“Hell no, I’m going to have my way with you and nothing you do or say will make me change my mind. Now stay still or else I’ll beat you to a pulp and you wouldn’t recognize yourself by the time I’m done with you,”

As Allen ripped my clothes to shreds and went into me forcefully, everything I went through in the hands of my dad started coming back as tiny flashbacks. More like my nightmare I become my reality and I couldn’t escape it.

I consciously coiled into the back of my mind so that I could ease the pain of painful penetration. What exactly did I do wrong?

“Allen, please let me go,” I whispered in a faint voice as I was at the verge of blacking out. It looked like Allen planned everything for a while now.

After what felt like an eternity, I felt him left me, just like my dad always did. My dad always gave me a look of disgust when he was done with me but Allen had a very twisted definition of the love emotion of his face.

“That was my gift, Merry Christmas darling. I guess you’ll be seeing me more often,” he said and left.

I laid in that position, half naked for what seemed like seconds before my eyes closed and I drifted into the world of unconsciousness.

Sterling’s Christmas wasn’t going so great. He had no one to spend it with apart from the helps at home. He didn’t want to have anything to do with his father and the only option left for him was to the cemetery and visit his mother’s grave and possibly replace the wreaths on it.

Visiting her graveside won’t take that long and I still needed to go over to Phoenix’s house. I have this really weird feeling that I should go there now but won’t going there look like I’m still coming strong at her.

I called her and she didn’t pick up. I called her again but she still didn’t pick up. The Phoenix that I know always picks up her phone on the first ring. I left the cemetery and headed for Phoenix villa, driving a speed that I normally don’t drive.

I got to Phoenix apartment and came down from the car, went to the door, knocked on the door but no one responded. I opened the door and got in only to be greeted by a really disturbing sight.

‘Phoenix beaten to a pulp with her clothes ripped apart. I was scared of finding about the other part but seeing her appearance, I figured the deed had already been done’ I came out of my shocked state when I realized that Phoenix was lying lifeless.

“Wake up Phoenix, get up,” I yelled at her, shook her but she didn’t respond. Who the hell did this to her to the point of unconsciousness; that person really was a beast. I hurriedly took her to the hospital.

When I got there, I picked her up from the back seat and rushed towards the hospitals’ double doors while screaming for help. The nurses on duty rushed to me and took her from me and wheeled her on a stretcher to the emergency room while I was left standing in the hallway.

AN HOUR LATER…

An hour later, a female doctor came out of the operating room and walked towards me with a poker face which was incredibly hard to read.

“Are you a relative of the patient?”

“Not exactly; I’m a friend,”

“Then I’m sorry I can’t disclose the patient’s condition to you,”

“She doesn’t have anyone, she has no relatives,”

“Well then, please come to my office, Mr……,”

“Tyrell, Sterling Tyrell,”

“Come with me, Mr. Tyrell,”

When we got to the doctor’s office, she took her seat and offered me a seat as well. I was nervous as to what the outcome of everything was.

“Doctor, please tell me what the problem is; is she okay? What are the extents of her injuries, can I see her now?

“Calm down Mr. Tyrell. The patient is doing fine. Her vitals are doing okay which means that she’s stable. She suffered some internal and external injuries. As you could see, externally, she’s been inflicted with severe injuries due to consistent beatings while internally, since she was forcefully abused sexually, her vaginal opening sustained some cuts which has been stitched, she suffered some internal bleeding which we’ve stopped. Hopefully, with time and care, she’ll heal but I suggest that she stops all work related activities and focus on recovery so as not to suffer further complications,”

While the doctor spoke, I vowed to make whoever did this to her pay for it.

“Okay, can I see her now, is she awake?”

“My Tyrell, about that….”

“What about it?”

“I’m afraid she’s in a state of comatose. While treating her, I noticed some scars on her body which I can’t exactly say if they were self-inflicted or if she was a victim of sexual abuse but the scars aren’t recent meaning there are old scars; probably years old. Now, I’m not exactly sure what caused her to be in that state but if I should take a wild guess, I would say that due to what just happened, it might have some connections to her past and her mind has gone into the unconscious state cause it feels she’s safer there in that vastness than in reality. Like I said, it’s all speculation; we can’t exactly say why she’s in that state but I assure you that she’ll be fine,”

This couldn’t be happening. God please, let her wake up.

“Thanks Doc,”

I left the doctor’s office and got to Phoenix ward in the VIP section. I looked at her frail body filled with bruises and my anger got worse. I took out my phone from my pocket and called Denzel.

“Find me Allen Martin and let me know when you do. I need his location as soon as possible,”
