Cooking Fest's Comback

Five working days had come and gone and for Phoenix, it was eventful because she had to attend to so many meetings at different locations and some were virtual but it only meant one thing at the end of the day; more financial stability for her and her children yet to come.

Sterling on the other end didn’t mix up his work with pleasure but then, he couldn’t stop thinking about the hot steaming session they had some days ago. Agreed, it was disrupted but damn, he couldn’t wait to get some of that urgently. Phoenix definitely appeased him in more ways than he could imagine.

Speaking of Phoenix, he had to call Olivia and ask her about the progress she was making in having the baby’s nursery decorated.

The phone rang twice before Olivia picked up…

“Liyah, what’s the update with the baby nursery?”

“Sir, it is almost done. It’s a bit delayed when it is a secret; I mean, there’s only so much I and the workers can do but I promise you sir that the workers will do a perfect and neat job,”

“Okay then; I trust you to get the job done and on time too,”

“Yes sir,”

After the call with Olivia, he was pretty certain that Phoenix had to idea of what was going on right under her nose and he of course couldn’t wait to show it to her. Being a dad to Phoenix’s baby meant everything to him even though they weren’t going to be related biologically.

He had to call her and check up on her too because he knew how hyped she was to get back to hosting Cooking Fest after being away for a month and some days. He dialed her number and she picked up on the third ring.

“Hey you, miss me much?” Phoenix said, with a giggle.

“Of course you know I do and that’s why I am calling,” Sterling teased her.

“Isn’t that lovely but you know it’s a weekend and it’s going to be a busy day for both of us and yet, here you are, calling me,” Phoenix said.

“I know that but that doesn’t stop me from calling you. You know what’s funny?”

“No; what?”

“What’s funny is how we got here. I mean, five to six months back, we were total strangers and yet, here we are, calling each other like lovers. To be honest, I did stalk you for some months after I saw you get drunk at Club X months ago. One thing led to another and we started talking. I’m not exactly portraying the whole incident properly but you get my point,” Sterling said.

“You stalked me? I guess that must have been after I broke up with Allen because he cheated on me. It’s probably the first time I ever got drunk. Funny how life just jerks you off all your plans and gives you another but you stalking me though when I was totally unawares is funny,” Phoenix said, laughing because she couldn’t picture Sterling stalking her.

“Yeah, I stalked you because you fascinated me. Although I had Denzel do all the work and I got the updates. Truth is, because of you, I do not have time for the ladies. Because of you, I do not care what the media says about me anymore, I mean, I had to put up with being seen with those clingy girls because I didn’t want the media ruining my reputation and giving my dad an advantage over me,”

“Hmmmm, life really had a way of dealing with things,”

“It sure does. Okay, I called to also ask you about your plans for tomorrow after the show; I mean, you’re going to co-host with Miss Debby, right?”

“Yeah, I will. I miss it. I miss the feel of hosting although I won’t be doing it for long anyways. Cooking Fest will have different host apart from me and they will be well paid and about my after plans, yeah, I do have plans with the ladies; my treat,”

“Oh, I see. They won’t be sleeping over, right?”

“No, they won’t but I can’t be certain, why do you ask?”

“Uhhh, I’m just asking because we didn’t exactly get to finish what we started on Monday. Call me shameless but that’s how bad I want and besides, you started it,”

“Dude, I was horny plus the baby caused it,”

“It doesn’t matter who caused it; all I know is that you will finish what you started this weekend,”

“You really are shameless. Get off my phone,” Phoenix blushed had before hanging up because she really couldn’t deal with his shamelessness.

Sterling could feel that she couldn’t handle the teasing and that’s why she had to hang up. Well, he had to play his cards right and then she’ll be his; after all, she made the first move.

Saturday (COOKING FEST)

For Phoenix, the week couldn’t have gone any better and she couldn’t wait to be back on set. For hours, she looked for what to wear and also how to style her hair and how to do her make up so that her entry would be a grand one.

By the time it was time to go to the studio, Phoenix was looking breathtaking; like a goddess. Albeit she had to call her stylist to style her hair and her makeup artist to do her make up. Unknown to Phoenix, her makeup artist and hair stylist had taken a quick photo of her and posted it on both their social media handles.

To them, it was such a great way to make an advert; so to Ella Mai and Trina Dawson, they weren’t wrong.

With such piece of information, the netizens ran wild with comments but just to be sure that the supposed makeup artist and hair stylist of Phoenix weren’t shams; they had to watch the show by all means necessary.

“Well, well, well, guys, y’all know that it’s been two months of bliss hosting this show and I know that majority of you have learned a great deal from this and as promised, we’ve held the mini competition twice and PHOENIX CORPS had kept to their own part of the deal. I have a huge size for everyone today! Trust me, I was completely taken aback too when I first got my own share of the surprise and I couldn’t wait to share it with you all. Now, without further ado, let’s make welcome, my co-host for today’s episode, the ever gorgeous and breathtaking goddess, Miss Phoenix Mills!!!” Debby Williams said, with so much strength and vigor coupled with the excitement coming from the live audience. To Phoenix, this was definitely an overwhelming comeback.

Phoenix walked majestically to the podium all smiles with her smooth magenta satin fabric that was designed in a high-neck, large handkerchief cut that was held together by a tiny black belt strap that accentuated her slim waist and curvaceous hips with a bishopric sleeves outfit which elegantly emphasizes her legs and her black stiletto heels making her look so surreal and breathtaking that most people in the live audience couldn’t help but take a picture of her and posted it on their social media handles that in turn aroused the already sleeping netizens and tweetsters who laid low just to watch the show and confirm if the hair stylist and makeup artist were lying but if turns out that they weren’t.

While Phoenix was being overwhelmed by the warm welcome, the twitter world was on fire from postings, tagging, mentionings, comments and shares from tweetsters.

Sterling was aware of it and he couldn’t help but smile at what was going on because that was his exact reaction when he saw her in her complete outfit looking so breathtaking and she was his; his goddess.

It was obviously a weekend so nothing would stop him from watching the show. Tuning in, he caught up with what was going on and followed through.

Back at SilverBird TV station, Phoenix Mills and Miss Debby Mills were having the time of their lives dropping hot sizzling contents for the live audience and viewers.

“Miss Phoenix Mills, you look so lovely and I must say, your fashion sense is out of this world. I’m sure that your followers can’t even describe the outfit because it’s one of a kind; care to tell who your designer is?” Debby probed

“Hahahahaa, I’ll take that as a compliment. Thanks Debby and I’m so happy to be back here,”

“I missed you and I’m sure your followers missed you too and can’t wait to hear what you have for us today,”

“Hmmm, business as usual; okay, I’ll jump right in. today, I’m going to be sharing a Moroccan recipe called Tangine,”

“Ohhh, lovely name; I’m sure the taste will be just as lovely,”

“Well, to cook a Tangine which is a traditional dish in Morocco, you’d have to season the tangine, make the base layer, add olive oil, add meat or poultry or fish, season with spices, garnish the dish, add enough or broth, cook the tangine, check the liquid and then serve the tangine. That’s basically how to make a traditional tangine,” Phoenix said with so much excited bubbling in her.

“Oh my wow, I’m amazed at this but do you think it’s that easy to make? Because hearing you list them of, you make it sound so easy to whip up in minutes,”

“It’s not entirely easy, it takes a whole of time to prepare but to then, I can’t exactly spill all the details because of time but anyone could look it up and make it at their own spare time. It is a very healthy meal,”

“Wow, I’m speechless with this information,”

“I know right but then, to narrow it down, there are more than five ideas on how to make the tangine just so it can be less hassle. There is the Moroccan lamb tagine, Moroccan chicken with preserved lemon and olives, Kefta Mkaouara which is also known as the Moroccan Meatballs, Mqualli also known as the Fish tangine, Moroccan vegetable tangine and many more,”

“I can see that you really know your dishes because you list them off so effortlessly. I must say that I’m impressed,”

“So am I but I’m all for people living healthy,”

“That is so true. Thank you so much Miss Mills for gracing us with your presence. I know that I’ll see you next weekend for another mind blowing session again and I’m sure the audience and viewers can’t seem to wait for it either. Well, that’s it guys for this weeks’ episode. After the mind blowing session, all the ladies met outside to carpool to Club Nevada for a celebratory drink.
