SOMEWHERE FAR AWAY IN THE NORTHEN PART OF THE COUNTRY
Well, well, well, isn’t this my daughter? Does she think that she can run away from me? She did a good job hiding from me for so many years now and it just turns out that she’s doing just fine. Well, it’s time I pay her a visit before she exposes me or something. But wait a minute, if she wanted to expose me, wouldn’t she have done it a long time ago? I mean, she’s got the power now….

On the intercom
“Ma’am, you’ve got a call from Silver Bird Broadcasting Station,”
“Okay. Connect it to me on line 2,”
“Sure,”
“Hello, good morning, Miss Phoenix,”
“Hello, Jade. A good morning to you too; got any news for me?”
“Yes, as a matter of fact, I do. Your show Cooking Fest is to start airing in the next two weeks from now. This is more like a reminder on our part,” Jade said
“Well, thank you for the reminder. I’ll do well to get everything ready for the show to commence. Thank you once again,”
“My pleasure ma’am, have a great day.”
Whoa, to think that I almost forgot about Cooking Fest. That reminder was indeed very timely. I was almost done with work when I mistakenly pushed a piece of paper down from her table. I adjusted my chair a bit to get the paper which turned out to be Sterling’s business card.
‘I should probably give him a call and ask him out for dinner’
After a few rings, someone picked up with a husky voice that made me have butterflies and I was speechless for a second; which made me realize that all through my years of dating Allen, I never experienced butterflies with him….weird
“Hello…,” Sterling called out again. What kind of person calls and takes his precious time to speak. Who was this anyway, calling my personal line?
“Uhh! Oh hi. I’m sorry for the brief delay. Good evening,” oh, it’s a lady and her voice sure does sound familiar.
“Okay, no problem,”
“This is Phoenix, Phoenix Mills,”
Ah ha, now, there was the owner of that voice; my sexy caramel angel.
“Oh, Miss Phoenix, what a pleasant surprised; I didn’t think you’d call after all it’s been a month,” Sterling said.
“I am sorry about that. I have been busy with work and I’m sure you have too,”
“It’s no problem, really. I have been expecting your call. So to what do I owe this pleasant surprise?”
“Well, I was wondering if you’re busy this evening,”
“This evening, I don’t know; it depends on what the occasion is for. I have got a ton of work staring at me,”
“I see. If you’re busy then I guess I could cancel dinner till some other time,”
“Dinner? What dinner?”
“Oh yeah, I called to asked you out for dinner; more like a getting-to-know-you kind of dinner,”
Oh wow, isn’t my little caramel angel trying to be a sly fox? Why not go all out and call it a date; Getting-to-know-you dinner? Tsk… well, how can I refuse?
“Sure thing, I should be done in an hour. I’ll try to clear out my desk before then. Do you have a time and place?”
“Let’s say 6pm, Alfredo’s? is that cool with you?”
“6pm, Alfredo’s….. Perfect!”
“I assume I’ll meet you there by 6pm,”
“Yup, you will,”
“Okay, see you. Bye,”
“Yeah sure, bye”
Oh my wow, isn’t this a miracle. Here I was looking for ways to talk to her without being a pervert or stalker and here she is, offering herself to me on a platter of gold… smooth
ALFREDO’S PARKING LOT
Phoenix was still sitting in her car in the parking lot of Alfredo’s and waiting for Sterling Tyrell to arrive. He was already five minutes late and it wasn’t as though Phoenix had anything to do at home, so she wasn’t in a hurry. Replying some mails while listening to some music in the car, another car drove in and it look exactly like hers..
‘What the….it can’t be him, right?’ that would be too much of a coincidence; having the same model of Bentley or I might just be reading into things…
Sterling already felt bad for being 7 minutes late and didn’t know how Phoenix would react or see him as… Well, I better call her cause I won’t get any answers sitting in this car..
“Hey, I just got here and I thought I’d call you to find out about your current location. Are you here yet?” Sterling really hoped that she wasn’t there yet so he won’t feel bad for keeping her waiting.
“Yeah, I am. I’m in the parking lot. Where are you?”
“That’s interesting; I’m also in the parking lot. I’m in my car but I’ll come out now, so if you see me, just wave,”
“Okay, I’ll do same too,”
Sterling stepped out of his Bentley Muslane and looked at every angle of the parking lot.
“Where are you? I’m out of my car,”
“No freaking way… why do we have the same car? I know it sounds like a stupid question,”
“Now, this is getting interesting…”
