Chapter 54 Reasons
Chapter 54 Reasons
A loud horn sound blares through the room.
"Ahh!" I scream and cover my ears with my pillow to block out the loud sound.
"Turn it off!" Andrew's voice muffles as his head is buried in the pillow.
I reach across the bed for something hoping it will stop but my fingers went in something instead.
"Why is your hand in my mouth?" I immediately retract my hand and lift my head from under the pillow and look by the door to see Chris holding a blow horn.
"Turn the fucking horn off!" I shout more like a roar. He does has told and with fuming anger I look outside to see it's not even sun out. "Could you please come closer?" I ask him nicely.
With hesitation, he walks slowly over to my side. Once in reach I grab him by the shirt and pull him down to my level. "Can you please explain to me why the hell you are in my house, waking me up before sun out and why I shouldn't rip your limps off one by one?!" I say through gritted teeth.
"Isabel told me to wake everyone up." Of course. I let go of him and look beside me to see Andrew still asleep. "She did this to me so you guys get the same thing."
I roll my eyes. "Hand me that." He hands me the blow horn and I put it by Andrew's ear. I press the button and he wakes up screaming and rolls of the bed. "Rise and shine babe."
Sweat, pain, sleepy, hungry, angry and sleepy. We have been out here for five hours none stop. Exercising, sparring, climbing, carrying. What the fuck do they think we are? Robots?
"Break!"
Say no more. I untie the wraps on my hands and walk over to Mia at the cooler. "I want to kill her." Mia squeezes the empty bottle till it's crushed. She hands me one and takes another for her self. Mia knows all about my past with Isabel and instantly hated her. One of the reason Mia and I get along so well is because we have a similar background and could relate to each other. She was an outcast in her pack. They treated her terribly so she left to be a rogue. We found her staying on our land and took her in when we found out she was Lucas' mate.
"Welcome to the club." We cheers to that and I drink all the water in three gulps.
"Why are we doing this?" Mia cries. "Where is she anyway?"
We are not used to all this. We usually train three hours in the morning while taking breaks in between and carry on with our duties for the day but today is different and everyone is unhappy. Isabel's pack just seems used to it, their like machines.
"They say its's necessary. I think this is their usual training routine and I haven't seen her for a while."
"How do they do it?" She pauses and look at all the men. "Well that explains how hot they are." I chuckle at her licking her lips and stop as I see Lucas behind her. She sees my face and instantly picked up. "But they are not has hot as my man."
Lucas hums not believing her. She turns around acting surprised. "Hey sexy, I didn't see you there."
"Sure." Lucas throws her over his shoulder and tells me goodbye as Mia screams at him to put her down.
I finally got my energy back and got up to find Andrew. I didn't see him anywhere on the field or where everyone is gathered up. The last time I saw he was sparring with Felix.
I chose to look in the pack house, he's probably in the office. I quickly made through the racket down stairs up to the second floor. A door opens to room in front of me as I was about pass and a shirtless Luca comes out. He smirks as he sees me and I roll my eyes in response.
"It's nice to see you again gorgeous." He says looking me up and down. "I was impressed when I saw you out there today. You make a fit Luna."
"I'm just doing my job." I make a step to pass him but he steps in front of me.
"Can't we just talk for a second? Get to know each other."
"I know enough about you."
"You can know more." He looks down at his body and I follow his trail of defined abs.
Fine I'll play along.
I smirk and step closer to him. "I would love to." I whisper seductively. He smiles satisfyingly. I rest my hand on his shoulder and trail a claw down his stomach in a straight line. He seems to like the pain and watch as the wound heal.
I stop at the waist band of his shorts and step closer to him, lips almost touching. I look him in his green eyes as they get darker looking down at me. "You are something else, you know that?" I whisper with a slight smile and turns to scowl.
I grab him by the balls and squeeze them, tight. He bends over trying to pry my hand off but no such luck. "But I'm something much worse. Keep out my fucking way." I let go and he falls on the grown in pain. I continue to seek for Andrew.
"I'm so proud of you." Eva cries. I smile and roll my eyes at her silliness. I open the door to the office for my smile to falter.
I walk in to see Andrew sitting bored, more like annoyed while Isabel sits on his desk with her legs crossed. Andrew immediately addresses me when he sees me and Isabel smirks at me.
"Am I interrupting something?"
"No, Isabel was just leaving."
"Yes, actually."
They both say at the same time. Andrew glares at her and she sighs and gets up. She leaves the room and it's like I could breath again.
"What was that about?" I sit in front of the table instead of my usual seat next to him.
"Stupid shit from a long time ago."
"Like what?" At this point it was clear that I was jealous. He seems to notice and sighs.
He sits back in his chair and begins to explain. "Back in high school we had this thing. It was on and off every time." I begin to play with my fingers, not looking him the in eye. He gets up and kneels in front of me holding my hands.
"There is nothing going on between us. I promise." I finally look at him and he continues. "Later on I found out she only wanted power and was just using me for the title. I really saw her true colors after the day you and I talked. It was after your sixteenth birthday."
Shock and confusion is now all over my face. What do I have to do with this? "The day after I helped you with your books, she kept nagging about me talking to you and it upset me so much I broke it off with her. I saw her do some shit to you a couple times and it weirdly aggravated me so I warned her. She didn't take it seriously so I kicked her out of the pack a couple months later."
"You did?"
"Yes, I didn't know where she left to and she didn't run through my mind again."
"Then why did you ask if we met each other yesterday?"
"I honestly thought you didn't remember or cared. That's why I offered to let them leave right away."
"Thank you for telling me the truth." I smile while caressing his cheek.
"Sorry I didn't talk to you again."
"In the past." I brush it off and lift his chin up and softly kiss him on the lips.
After, Andrew reminded me that Daniel and Jeremiah needed to talk so we have to leave after training.
Everyone is gathered in a circle with Isabel in the middle. "It's been a fairly good training session, although this isn't my pack and I's regular routine."
"I knew it." Mia whispered beside me.
"Six hours of training then we would hunt."
"Liar." I laugh and pull her in a side hug as she rest her head on my shoulder.
"So for the last few minutes one lucky person is going to fight me. In our wolves."
Everyone starts whispering among themselves and as everyone hears one word they all look in my direction. 'Luna'. That was the fucking word.
I try not to glare at them while imagining snapping their necks. If I wasn't your Luna I would beat the shit out of all of you!
Isabel looks at me with a cocky smirk. "Please Luna, take the floor."
Mia lets go of me after whispering a 'good luck' and 'take that bitch down'. Everyone parts for me to walk through and my heart starts to pound out of my chest.
Getting the clear Ok to fight your childhood bully is the best and worst thing you could ever hear. The most obvious one is you fight and beat them to a pulp or it's the other way around. They beat you the fuck up.
I'm a grown woman, I can get over some stupid high school foolishness. Right?
I take a deep breath and walk forward into the circle.
"It is an honor fighting with you Luna." Isabel bows mocking me. "Don't hold back."
I won't.
She shifts first into her large brown wolf, the same size as me. She growls at me telling me she's ready. I instantly begin shifting and for some reason I felt a strange pain in my abdomen as I shifted. I shake it off and look at Isabel.
As she sees my white wolf she whimpers and takes a step back in fear. I bare my teeth at her warning her to not even think about it. A couple seconds pass and she seems to come back to her senses.
She makes the first move and immediately regrets it. She's not an easy one to put down but I did. I allowed anger and jealousy to overpower me. As I look down at Isabel's limp body I regret it all. I don't want to be this person.... but I am.
I know I should be proud of myself, that I finally put down my childhood bully and yes some part of me is, I'm not as happy as I thought I would be.
I howl claiming that I have won, it is a new rule in claiming prize or announcing it. I shift back in my human form and someone covers me up with a robe. I never really cared if everyone saw me naked, it's not like they haven't before. Andrew doesn't like the idea of other males staring at my body but I reassured him that it's fine.
"Training is over for today. You all may get some rest for the rest of the day." I announce. "Please remember we are all still a target to the rogues, so no crossing the boarders and hunting. Food will be hunted by our warriors and carried to you later in the day."
I dismiss everyone and Isabel's pack helps her to the ER. Right after I changed in shorts and a simple top before Andrew and I left for the castle.
"I think we got something on that riddle you found in the book." Daniel announces.
"Where the soul of the being. What if it's the same as the body of the being?"
"You mean the body of the witch?" I ask.
"Yes."
"How is that going to help? We don't know where she's buried."
"We did some more digging and found out the witch lived on the Red nebula Mountain. Which is Italian for The Red fog Mountain. Back then it was required for a witch to be buried in there home."
That mountain is so far away and barely ever visited. I mean who would?
"Wait are you saying-?"
"We're going on a hike." Us.
"What about the rogues and our pack?"
"Then we better hurry."
"Wait, maybe you should stay Elle. I don't want you going some place that we don't know about."
"I'll be fine. Plus I will not let you go alone."
"I'm not going to be alone."
I rest my hand on his chest and say, "I meant without me."
"Aww." We all turn to see Simon at the door.
"You're coming with us." Jeremiah stated.
"Thank you for considering me.'
"No. I'm not letting you out of my sight."
"I'll take it." He shrugs.
"When do we leave?"
"In two days. We still need more information on the place before going in blind."
We nod agreeing and started researching the placing. I left the boys in the room to look for Simon. I first look in the room where Cristian's things are. I go deeper into the room and see a door on the left slightly open. I knock on the door while pushing the door to open further.
The room is small and darkly lit, with a twin size bed and a small bed side table with just a lamp on it. Simon is on the floor with his head leaned back on the bed side.
"Hey, stranger."
He looks at me and a smile lights up his face. "Little one, this is a surprise."
I sigh and enter the room. "I'm full of surprises." I sit next to him to the floor. "So are you."
He puts his head down shamefully and I place my hand on his shoulder. "I don't hate you, Simon."
"Really? Because I do." He sniffles and looks at me with tears in his eyes. "I feel like I killed my bestfriend."
I wipe the tears from his eyes and say, "No you didn't." I whisper.
"I could of warned him."
"You made a mistake. Don't beat yourself up for the rest of your life."
"What if I can't?"
"Then I'll help you."
"Why?"
"Because I still care about you Simon." Relief and gratitude is all over his face. "Ah!" I scream as I feel the sharp pain through my abdomen.
"What's wrong? Are you ok?" Simon asks frantically.
'I don't- Ah!" I drop on the floor and roll in a ball.
"Elle! Somebody help!" I hear Simon shout as I fall unconscious.
*
I see a beautiful middle age woman with pale skin and long curly platinum hair.
"Somethings wrong." She says.
"What is it?" I or someone with my face asks. Elizabeth.
The woman places her hand on my stomach and looks up. "She bears a child."
