Chapter 56 The Red Fog Mountain
Chapter 56 The Red Fog Mountain
"Water bottles?!"
"Check!"
"Tent?!"
"Check!"
"Food?!"
"Check!"
"Anna?!" Anna comes through the door and drop her bags. "Check!"
We look at her confused. "You didn't think you were going without me, did you?"
"I was hoping." I whispered.
"What was that?" She asked and I know she heard me.
"I love you." I smile.
"That's what I thought. I am not letting you out of my sight missy, so get comfy."
I sigh. "Fine but we're not sharing tents."
"Don't worry. Now how is my little niece or nephew?"
"Their fine."
She kneels down in front of me and begins to speak to my stomach. "Hey honey, it's your cool aunt in the house." I look up at the ceiling embarrassed for my unborn child.
"We leave in an hour, so can cool aunt hurry up with her coolness?"
"Watch the attitude." She looks back down and whispers, "Your mom is so not cool." I roll my eyes and look around for Andrew.
"Andrew?!"
"I'm here. I'm here." He drops a huge bag by his feet. "We're all set."
"Great. Now lets say goodbye to everyone."
And that we did. We already told everyone we were leaving yesterday. We told them the truth about finding a cure for the rogues. At first they didn't agree with what we were doing, they didn't think it was worth all the trouble but we explained that we can't let innocent people suffer for no reason and I might of guilt trip them with 'What if it was one of our people.'
I know it's wrong but they can be so stubborn sometime. They finally understood and made sure to supply us with useful weapons. Both Andrew and I agreed to leave Chris and Emma in charge. They are second in command.
No, we didn't tell anyone else about my pregnancy but now Veronica is suspicious because Anna can't control her damn excitement and almost let it slip. I feel bad that I haven't told Jackson and Veronica I'm carrying their grandchild but I don't want them to worry about the baby too, their worried about me enough. I promised Andrew we would tell everyone when we come back home.
Andrew, Anna and I quickly go to the Vampire castle to meet the others, it's safer this way than openly meeting up.
"We printed a map of the mountain." Jeremiah shows us where the 'x' is marked at the top of the mountain. "This area is where we believe the witch's cottage is."
We left right after. Andrew, Anna and I all shifted in our wolf forms and the vampires carried our bags. It's much faster to travel this way. Two hours in and we finally arrived at the base of the mountain.
We all stop to admire the death trap were leading into.
"It didn't look that big on the map." Simon commented.
The place is covered in blood red fog. The sun barely shines in the mountain's direction. If this wasn't important I wouldn't think twice about leaving this place alone. Sad truth it is important.
"Time to start our journey."
We all sigh tiredly and continue going further. After a few more hours of agonizing pain and climbing, well Andrew did the climbing for me. He refused for me to climb so he carried me instead. It started to get dark, well darker than usual, so we chose to camp out at an opening.
We built a our tents and started a fire. Daniel shares blood bags among Jeremiah, Simon and himself while Andrew, Anna and I shared some sandwiches. It weirds me out that I haven't seen one animal on this mountain so far and it's unusually cold. It doesn't bother us because we're use to it and we have natural warmth but it's just unnaturally cold.
"How far away are we?"
Jeremiah pulls out the map and studies it. "We're about five hours away. With us traveling with our speed we can get there in 3 hours."
I crack my knuckles as I feel another pain in my abdomen.
"Are you ok?" I take in a breath and nod. Sitting between his legs I lean back and rest my head in the crease of his neck, taking in his scent. It calms me down.
"So, Anna-" Daniel begins.
"No." She straights up turns him down.
"You don't even know what I was going to say."
"Ok, what were you going to say?"
"You want some company in that tent?"
"I am a married woman, Daniel."
"What's your point?" I turn and give him the dirtiest look. He immediately drops it and we spend the rest of the night aggravating each other. Anna hates Simon so imagine when he begins to tell a scary story.
I fell asleep half way through Simon and Jeremiah arguing about being the navigator in the morning.
ELIZABETH'S POV.
I wake up sensing a familiar atmosphere. Their looking for her.
Andrew pulls me in closer kissing me on the neck. "Morning to you too, hot stuff."
He pauses. "When did you start calling me- Elizabeth."
I turn around to face him. "You catch on so fast."
"Whatever you're up to please don't do anything much. Elle's pregnant."
"Oh right, you know about that."
"You knew? Why didn't you tell us?"
"Reasons. Which you will learn about soon." I get out of the tent and look around to see where we are. Not that far.
"How soon will that be Elizabeth? We are not into your foolishness this time!"
"What is all this racket?" The sister comes out of her tent rubbing her eyes.
"I don't believe we've officially met." She looks at me confused. "You're sister's succubus."
Her mouth forms into a 'O' shape and then expression turn to confused again. "Wait what?"
She is not awake yet.
"Elizabeth." Jeremiah addresses me and I smile at him and Daniel.
"You ready to start your journey?"
"Ok I think I got this map thing." Simon announces as he comes out of a tent. He looks at me and smiles. "Good morning, Elle."
I glare at him and growl.....
If these people annoy me one more time, I swear. Anna won't stop asking me questions and it's really annoying me. One thing I like about her is we both hate Simon.
Andrew won't stop babying me. He's probably scared I'm going to run off or do something, I don't blame him.
Daniel keeps asking if we're there yet every five minutes and I will stick something down his throat.
Jeremiah is just quiet, he's the only one I tolerate and he's hot. I wouldn't mind to-
"Guys." Simon stops and we all turn around to him. "I think we took a wrong turn."
"When?"
"We're lost?!" Anna shouts.
"I know I shouldn't have have let you navigate."
I'm surrounded by absolute idiots. I roll my eyes and continue going further as they scream at each other.
"Where are you going?" Andrew asks.
I stop and look at a familiar cottage. "Here."
They all stand next to me looking at the place in confusion.
"But we are all over to the east, isn't the cottage north?" Simon asks looking at the map.
"Clearly you're map is wrong." I point at all the patterns on the map. "This is where we are, see the patterns." The patterns is a symbol that is surrounding the cottage. It's to keep certain creatures out.
Simon looks at Jeremiah, "So if we took your path we would of have been stranded. You should be thanking me." Jeremiah sends him a deadly glare and grab him from the back of the neck.
"You're right, Simon, I should be thanking you. Thank you." He squeezes him down on his shoulders and Simon starts shouting. "You're Welcome!" He lets him go and Simon grabs onto his shoulder and rubs it. "Jeez."
The weather begins to change and the wind begins to blow aggressively. All of a sudden they all drop on the ground screaming in pain. She knows we're here.
"Hello, Elizabeth."
"Lyra."
