Chapter 64 The big question
Chapter 64 The big question
"You think they know it was us?" I ask Anna, biting my lip nervously.
"No, and could you stop stressing? What happened to the girl that thought it was hilarious last night?"
"That girl is gone and I'm never letting you drag me into these things again." I sip my hot chocolate feeling myself relax.
"No one will find out, geez."
"Find out what?" The hot tea burns my throat as I forgot how to swallow. I begin to silently choke, not wanting Andrew to be suspicious.
"About her being a hybrid." Anna lies, well sort of.
"Oh. I already told you babe, if no one talks, they won't know."
"Not very promising." I mumble.
"I'm sure everyone can keep their mouth shut." He pours himself a glass of orange juice and sits down. "Did you hear what happened to Isabel?"
Shit, he's on to us.
"No." I said almost to quickly. "I mean, what happened?"
"She woke the entire house last night screaming about her mouth burning. Someone said her lips are swollen." Anna snickers trying to contain her laugh.
I clear my throat trying not to smile because of Anna. "D-do you know what happened to her?"
"No, I haven't seen her as yet which I'm thankful for but Chris tells me when I see her, I shouldn't laugh." He says confused.
Anna coughs hiding her laugh and my stomach hurts trying not to join her. It's funny how a minute ago I was freaking out, afraid they might find out we did something to her but now I can't help myself from busting out.
"I-I." I clear my throat and try to finish my sentence without cracking a smile. "I wonder what we shouldn't laugh about."
He sighs tiredly, looking at us weirdly. "I don't know. The last thing I want is more drama with her." He downs his orange juice before getting up. "I just got to crab something real quick before we leave."
I nod my head waiting impatiently for him to leave the room. Once he was out of view both Anna and I begin ugly wheezing. I drop on the floor clutching my stomach from the pain. Anna points at me silently wheezing with tears coming from her eyes which only made wheeze harder.
"Ok, what the-?" Andrew comes back in the kitchen looking at us like we're maniacs.
Just looking at Andrew's confused face made us wheeze harder if that is even possible. By the time we were done, we were gasping for breath.
Andrew still doesn't know why we were laughing because we wouldn't tell him. He looks so cute when clueless.
We leave the house and head straight to the pack house. We call a meeting with the pack leaders just to inform them that we'll be leaving for a couples hours to the Vampires castle.
We all meet in the office and Isabel was the last one to come in. When she turns around, there is a huge mustache drawn across her face with a complimenting beard. I could tell she tried washing it off but it clearly wasn't successful.
Andrew slaps his hand over his mouth trying to stop laughing. Anna and I both snicker looking away from her.
Luca looks at us in confusion. He looks behind him to see what the problem is.
He is taken back, his mouth is wide open with wide eyes.
"You got something," He points to her mustache. "On your face."
"I know shut up." She snaps. "Some piece of shit decided to pull some prank on me while I was sleeping and now I can't even get this damn thing off." She cries.
Everyone stares at her not saying anything, just admiring Anna's work on her face.
She clears her throat, snapping us out of our daze. "What did you call this for?"
"I just wanted to inform you that we are going to the vampire's castle. If you need anything, consult with Chris and Emma, our betas."
She reminds us to make ensure to tell her if we find anyone from her pack. After making sure no one else had any other problems we left right away.
"Everyone is almost at their full energy, so that's good. They also had the same command as Michael did, so there is not much to go on." Jeremiah informed.
Why just want her though? Something isn't adding up.
"Wait, The Solar moon pack, was given a piece of paper say they want Liza."
"Yeah, what's your point?"
"They didn't say kill her." Realization dawns on all of their faces. "They want her for something."
"It's got to be really important to be going through all these lengths." Daniel comments.
"Why don't we find out?" They raise their eyebrows questioningly except for Andrew, who is not having.
"No, you are doing what I think your thinking."
"They obviously won't stop sending rogues and killing other people who aren't even involved if we don't at least find out what they want."
"And it's obviously nothing good, Elle. Elizabeth isn't even answering to your calls, we have no idea what they want with her."
I can see the fear and desperation in his eyes. I hate having to do this but we'll be stuck if we don't try and push further.
"Elle, you are carrying our child, this my worst fear. Losing the two people I care most about in this world and I haven't even met one of them yet. It's too dangerous."
I take in a breath and break eye contact with Andrew. Tears are on the verge of falling from my eyes. I hate this so much, causing the people I care about pain but what else am I suppose to when that's all I do by just existing. This has been my fate all along and I need to face the truth.
If I need to be cruel, I will. Just to keep them from getting hurt.
I slowly look him in the eye. "I'm sticking to my judgment, Andrew. I would love for you to be there every step of the way, that plan didn't change, baby." I caress his cheek with my thumb and he leans into it. "I'm fight for our people, I'm fighting for you and I'm fighting for our child." I gently pull him down to me so that our foreheads are against each other. I close my eyes, "Please understand." I whisper.
After a long silence between us he slowly pulls away. I look him in the eyes waiting for his response. He clenches his jaw and kisses me on my forehead before walking out the room.
I look at the doorway as if he'll storm back in here to kiss the life out of me and tell me he understands. After a minute of staring I realize that wasn't going to happen.
I just realized that everyone left the room at some point to give us our privacy. I wipe the lone tear from my face and look out the window at the sun.
I place my hand on my stomach and say, "We are going to make it out alive. I promise."
A few minutes later everyone came to check if everything was ok. They saw Andrew leave the castle and disappeared.
I told them I am still doing what I think is best. The demons want Elizabeth, so I am going to bring her to them. She still hasn't answered to my calls but she's got come out at some point.
They didn't like my idea at first, especially Anna, but they couldn't change mind. They reluctantly agreed at some point.
I spent the rest of the day at the castle asking all the rogues which pack they were in. Some of them are from packs all over the country, and they were a few of them from the Solar Moon pack. They are all so scared and I feel so bad for them. They shouldn't have had to go through any of this.
The sun started go down, so it was time for Anna and I to get back home. Anna wanted to stay with me when we got home and didn't see Andrew but I just wanted to be alone.
I made some pasta and put on some Rugrats to pass the time. An hour later I hear shuffling at the door. I look by the door way waiting for him to enter the living room.
He finally comes into view and stops when he sees me. I open my mouth to say something but nothing could come out. Instead he walks over to me looking slightly nervous.
He stands in front of me and says ,"I love you, you know that. I made a promise to you and I would never turn my back on you. But before we take a step further into this plan of yours or another day passes, I have to ask you this one question."
My heart beat fastens, getting nervous about this question of his. I adjust in my seat getting more comfortable.
This next thing I know he is on one knee, holding a velvet box in front me.
I gasp when he opens the box to reveal a beautiful diamond ring. I look at Andrew with tears blurring my vision.
"Wha-?" My voice cracks trying to find my words.
"I have had this ring sitting in the office for a month now, waiting for the perfect time but I realized it's never going to be the perfect time. I want to marry you and I want you to promise me that when we make it out of all of this, that you will marry me."
"Elle Cora Cooper, would you please make me the happiest man and future baby daddy by accepting my hand in marriage?"
Right here in front of me, is the man that I have gotten to know and love. He has his flaws, but who doesn't?
The man that eyes light up when ever the subject, bacon, comes up.
The man that can do the simplest things to make my heart flutter.
The man that puts a smile on my face everyday.
The man that I love.
The man that asked me to marry him.
A huge smile is plastered on my face as I eagerly nod my head. "Of course I'll marry you."
A grin spreads across his face, he instantly pulls to the edge of the sofa and our lips connect. I cup his face, pouring all my love I have for him this one kiss. He grabs me by the waist, completely pulling me off the sofa without breaking the kiss.
"Wait." He pulls away holding my hand up, putting on the ring. I giggle as I realize I didn't put it on. I hold my hand up to admire the flawlessness of the ring. "Perfect fit." He smiles looking at me with that look in his eyes.
I hum agreeing pulling him for another kiss and another and another.
I am going to be the future Mrs. Walters and I can't wait.
