Chapter 67 The story of my death
Chapter 67 The story of my death
*One and a half years ago*
"Can I take it off yet?"
He chuckles. "We haven't even stopped yet."
"Are we at least close?"
"Yes, now continue walking."
Andrew have been acting strange for the past few days and when he finally told me he had something to show me, I immediately jumped at the chance to see what it was.
"Can I tell you a secret?" I whisper.
"Sure, baby."
"I'm nervous."
"Why?"
"Because, it's not any special occasion-" I stop dead in my tracks with my heart ponding out of my chest. "Oh my goddess, is it?!"
"None that you know of."
I tilt my head in confusion. "What?"
"You can take it off now."
I quickly rip the blind fold from my face in anticipation. We're standing in front of a beautiful two story house, painted in denim blue. This is the house they we're building for the elders.
"You guys finished it."
"Yep."
"No offence and I'm happy the elders got some place to live comfortable in, but why are we here?"
"It's our house." Before I could get a word out, he continues. "Don't get mad, but I lied about building a home for the elders. It's really for us. I think we're ready for this step. Don't you think?"
"Oh my goddess, yes!" I jump wrapping my arms around his neck, sending him kisses after another.
"So you're not mad?"
"No." I pause frowning. "So where do the elders go?"
"They didn't need anywhere to go. Their fine, Elle. I made it up."
"Not nice." I fake pout.
"You want to see inside?" I eagerly nod my head with a goofy ass smile on my face.
He takes me inside and I'm immediately in love with the interior and design. We have really good builders.
The first room is the kitchen, with beautiful wooden cabinets and marble countertops.
"You like it?"
"I love it." I look at him with a grin.
He has that handsome smile on his face and offers me his hand. "Shall we continue with our house tour?" I nod and place my hand in his......
"And these are the rooms for our children." He points to the two rooms next to each other.
My heart swells hearing him say that. We're going have a future together.
I giggle as he slowly kisses my neck. I stop as I smell the most intoxicating smell that always made my me melt.
"Do I smell chocolate?" He stops kissing with a chuckle before taking my hand, leading me to a different room. He pushes the door open and my mouth drops to the floor.
"And this is our room." He whispers into my hear.
The floor is covered in tulip petals with lit candles. Chocolate, chocolate covered strawberries and chocolate. I didn't even realize I was crying until felt something on my face.
It's beautiful and looks so delicious.
"I can't eat all this alone and I would love to share with you. Elle would you-?"
"Yes." I answered before he could finish his question. He looks at me with amusement in his eyes and I look away embarrassed of my behavior. "Sorry."
"Don't be. You're cute when you go all, chocolate crazy."
I hit him on the arm. "I am not chocolate crazy." He hums totally not buying it. He pulls me in closer, wrapping his arms around my waist and I do the same. "And do not call me cute."
"Sure." I know he's lying. He slowly moves into a kiss but before we could.....
"Ew, no. Can you please get out of your lovey dovey memories?" Elizabeth complains.
I roll at my eyes annoyed by Elizabeth. "I'm so glad I wasn't here for the past two years." She mumbles.
I sigh and chose to distract myself with something else. "Fine, remember when you said you would tell me later."
"Vividly." She say nonchalantly.
"Well, later is now. How did you die and what is your history with that guy."
"If my death story is what keeps you entertained, fine and lucky for you both subjects are wrapped into one."
"I wasn't always against the demons, matter of fact, I was once an idiot who fell in love with one. I know shocker."
*Early 1800's*
"Liz." Julia cries while she does my hair.
"What?"
"You and Nikolaos, me and your mom already warned you about him. The demons are getting closer to us, you don't think that's kind of suspicious?"
I sigh tiredly. "I know what you and mother said but I love him and he loves me too. He would never betray me like that."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes." I stress.
"Let's just hope no one else finds out about you two. Everyone is already a little suspicious of your behavior."
"You're not going to say anything, are you?" I ask accusingly.
"Of course not! Your my bestfriend, Liz, that's the last thing I would do. I just don't want you to end up heartbroken." She stops and look me in the eye.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to take my frustrations out on you." I instantly felt bad to even think she would betray me like that.
"It's ok, but for now we have to go."
"Your done?" I turn around to see my natural curls flow down my back, stopping at my waist. Julia used a couple butterfly pins to keep my hair out of my face.
"Shall we leave now, your highness?"
I roll my eyes and sigh turning to her. "Could you stop calling me that?"
"You are royalty."
"I know that, I don't need to be reminded." She follows me outside and I immediately spot my mother. She seemed to be looking for someone urgently and stopped when she spotted me. Anger was clearly all over her face and she stocks over towards me.
"Yeah, this is my time leave. Good luck." Julia whispers before disappearing somewhere.
"Mother." I said slightly nervous. "What is it?" She takes my hand before dragging me back inside.
"Why am I hearing Nikolaos' name around here?"
"I-I d-don't know." I stutter.
"Elizabeth, please tell me that demon does not know where we are located." She begs.
"He doesn't.... well not exactly."
"What do you mean?!"
"I sort of told him where to meet me at night close by, but I didn't tell him exactly where we were." I quickly added.
"Do you know what kind of danger you put our entire people in?!"
"I didn't! He would never do that!"
"He's a demon, Elizabeth, he's evil. They all are and they want us all dead!"
"But mother, he doesn't. He's not like the others!"
Her expression changes from anger to sympathy. She cups my face and wipes the tears streaming down my face. "My sweet child, I understand. You are in love but you can't let love blind you." She pauses looking all over my face. "But it already has, so your giving me no choice. I forbid you from seeing that man again."
My heart stops for a few seconds as I look at my mother. I push her hands away from me and take a step back. I look at her with pure hate. How could she tell me that?
"You can't forbid me from seeing him."
"I just did, Elizabeth."
"No, I will see him again. You can't keep me away from him."
"Elizabeth this for your own good and our people."
"I don't care!" I scream at her. Then the words I never thought I would ever say to my mother did. "I hate you!" I knew then and there, I broke my mother's heart and I couldn't take it back.
I didn't want to.
I run outside, ignoring everyone looking at me confused and concerned. I spread my wings flying to the only place I felt free. Our special place. The fountain.
It was close by the demon's castle but no ever comes out here, so Nik and I took advantage of it, up until it became our special place.
I sat there crying for what felt like hours until I heard his voice. "Liza."
I turn to look at him with my eyes all puffy. He takes in my state and is facial expression turns to concern. I run into his arms and I felt so safe in his arms.
"Liza, what happened?"
I sniffle and say, "Mother, she forbade me from seeing you. I cant-" I stop, looking into his eyes with blurry vision.
"Shh." He whispers resting his forehead against mine. "It's ok." I then feel something sharp jammed into my back. I gasp looking up at him in shock while he just looks at me with an emotionless expression.
I begin to feel paralyzed, barely keeping myself up. He gently places me on the ground, brushing my hair from my face. "I'm sorry." He whispers before I drift into darkness.
I wake up hearing screams. I slowly open my eyes to see it's night fall. The memory of me and Nik rushes back and I quickly stand up looking around.
I'm not at the fountain anymore. I'm really close to where my home is. I then hear the screams again and look in that direction. Smoke and screams, that's all I register.
My heart drops to my stomach thinking the worst.
No! Please no!
I spread my wings, finding it faster getting to them. Just as my home comes into view, flames. My entire home is in flames.
"Mother!" I scream in tears. I instantly take off to help anyone I could get my hands on but a sword to my chest stopped me.
I gasp as the blade goes completely through me. I look down to see Nik standing directly in the middle of all of this, staring at me with that emotionless face.
I feel myself falling to the ground, but it's like everything was in slow motion. I land quiet roughly, feeling myself about to give out any second. Until I did.....
*Present*
"The bastard betrayed me and my people, so imagine when I woke up two decades later in someone else's mind. Yes I was confused and pissed as hell. I then vowed to kill every demon that came my path. That's how I became a bitch or whatever you might call it."
"I'm sorry you had to go through that." I now completely understand where she was coming from. She watched her entire family die.... because of love.
"It's fine, I'm getting my family back and we'll wipe them out once and for all." A few seconds of silence passes by until she speaks again. "Don't think I'm going soft, but I won't let the same thing happen to your people. I promise."
"Thank you." It's crazy how love can do this to someone and to Elizabeth, I would have never guessed.
Coming out of my head and back to reality I look up to see Nikolaos, standing there staring at me. I stand on feet giving him a look of disgust. Hearing what he had down to my ancestors just added more fuel to my hatred for him.
"Liza?"
"No." I spat at him.
"It's nice to meet you. I'm-"
"I know who you are."
"Liza, filled you in. Good." A small smile reaches upon his face.
"What do you want from me?"
The next thing he said made me stop breathing.
"Your child."
