The Party 2
Elena.
I made the bed, I guess I just have to lie there.
Jane was still continuing the conversation when we got out of the neighborhood.
"So, did you take his picture?" She asked, with a smirk set on her face. She already knew the answer, but I was glad to say yes.
When I told her this, she burst out laughing while shaking her head. "My gosh, my gosh, Elena, you really like keeping secrets."
My breath caught, and I looked at her. She seemed to think nothing of what she said, it was just something she said sometimes. But to me, it made me wonder if she knew more than she was saying.
Had Zayn told her, even after I told him not to?
My eyes met Sasha's in the mirror, and she gave me a deep gaze, before looking away. Sasha was always good at picking up on things.
I know she is not quite sure what happened, but she can figure it out. Well, Jane had to be told if anything was going on because her mind was always wandering.
Jane quickly turns on the radio, stopping at the HardRock station, leaving us all screaming to Dua Lipa's "IDGAF". The song seemed to shake up the mood, and all the gloomy tension quickly disappeared.
Today's party location was at Crescent Lake. The lake is an overgrown, usually untraveled lake, and is famous for its clear water and largely unspoiled shoreline. This makes it the perfect location for a party. The lake is quite small, with sandy beaches on all sides.
There were cars parked on the shore. Drinks were definitely being distributed, considering the number of people already in the water.
Isn't it still early? Lexi asks me, and I roll my eyes. Lexi is innocent, but she has seen a lot of me over the years. I can't handle my alcohol, but I have tried.
Yes, Lexi, but has it ever stopped someone, I answer back, and Lexi gives me a low growl. Sometimes she's like a mother.
"El! Stop talking to Lexi and come on!" Jane snapped me out of my reverie, and I nodded, opening the car door. Jane was well aware of Lexi's presence, as she too had a wolf in her. We did not share what they said, but the other wolves were aware that they were there. A kind of inner conscience.
As soon as our feet stepped on the sand, we took off our shoes without thinking. It was not necessary, as it would only get in the way. We enjoyed our time joining the party, then we all split up.
Sasha went off in one direction, to be alone. She does not really care about the party, but rather she is just interested in the atmosphere. She would probably make a sketch if she could, but instead, she just sat and observed.
Meanwhile, Jane went straight for the alcohol, took a glass from someone else, and downed it in a few seconds. People cheered, and she, desperate for attention, took another glass.
And so I approached the group of basketball players and cheerleaders who were relaxing. I know, I'm not so popular, but I'm pretty well known in most social groups. Reid, the point guard, sat in the middle, drinking a beer. He never felt outcast, he more often took pleasure in seeing others outcast.
There was a boy holding his arms around him, Mitch Lewis. Mitch's father was a policeman, and Mitch himself was a good boy. Never drunk, never broke the rules. Well, save this whole experience. Reid really liked Mitch, and always seemed doting on him.
The moment Reid noticed my presence, he whistled, moving away from Mitch to get to his feet.
"Is this really what I imagined?" He looked me up and down, then around, as if he was about to discover a secret, "Elena Brown, in her true form?" And I rolled my eyes. He was being too dramatic.
I let Reid land a kiss on my cheek, but I brushed it off right away. Reid was a very goofy person, but I still like him anyway.
"You look so pretty Elena, so gorgeous," he continued as he winked at me. I refrained from rolling my eyes, once again, and just smiled, accepting the compliment.
"Thank you, Reid. Now, I think someone is missing you," I turned to Mitch, who was staring passionately at Reid, "And I have a few cups of the mysterious liquid to drink."
Then Reid let go of me and returned to his place next to Mitch. I picked up a small red cup from the person handing it out, and let the liquid flow easily down my throat.
I had always tried to hold alcohol well, but my bad was that I was not very good at it. I get drunk very quickly. Though Jane takes a while, she usually gets drunk quickly too, which is why we always have Sasha to lean on.
I was walking around for a while, having a chat with people, when I noticed a boy was looking at me. And by looking, I mean gawking.
We soon made eye contact with each other, and instead of looking away, I just tilted my head and gave him a shy smile. He took a sip of his drink, before walking towards me.
Before that, I need to explain that I am indeed a flirt. There is no way around it, I have always been that way, and I am not ashamed of it. Before I knew that Killian was my mate, I was having fun because I could. I knew when I had a mate, I would no longer be able to, and I was sure I would not want to.
Now, it was more to fill my loneliness than anything else. I want to feel like myself again. Especially after that cruel rejection.
"I'm sorry I was staring at you, I'm only interested in beautiful things," the boy said once he reached me. Smooth yet not cheap.
From what I could see, he had dark blonde hair. Unlike Reid who had light blonde hair. His hair was thick and silky, and its length reached his shoulders. I usually don't like men with long hair, but his hair was quite nice.
I smiled, " Well, okay. So, what's your name?"
"Kyle, too plain, I know," He shrugged, his eyes continuing to look me up and down.
"I hope you are not so plain," The words just came out of my mouth before I could stop them, but I let them. The words came out in a flirtatious way, and he reacted, taking a step forward.
"I can promise I'm not that boring and plain."
