"That idiot," I hissed angrily, stomping down the stairs that led directly to the white beach.
The sun burned my skin and I paused briefly on the soft sand to close my eyes and take a calming breath.
I kept telling myself that I didn't mind. That I didn't give a damn if he made out with other people and that's the way it should be. I didn't know him and so slowly I didn't want to get to know him any better.
He should have a threesome with Blondi and the crazy redhead. I don't care!
Or maybe not!
"My God, pull yourself together," I whispered to myself and took another deep breath, which then slowly calmed me down.
The salty smell of the sea made me feel good and as long as Rian wasn't around making out with such cheap chicks, I really felt better.
Even if an apparently stupid part of me wanted to be with him.
But he didn't want me. No wonder. Last night's blonde could have been a movie star and the redhead had curves I just couldn't match...
I didn't even have make up here...
Once again taken over by my self-doubt, I opened my eyes and looked down at myself.
A boring white top and silly pajama shorts.
No wonder he stuck his tongue down her throat. Unlike her, I looked like the house troll himself.
"What happened?", I heard Senan and at the same moment Nero jumped up on me and at least he was apparently very happy to see me.
"What should have happened?" I tried to convey as calmly as possible and looked into his brown eyes. "There's a crazy redhead upstairs who wanted to bang me, but now she's getting banged by your brother."
Senan laughed out loud and patted my already slightly red shoulder. The sun here was probably too much for my slightly pale skin.
"Let me guess, Pirina," he grinned stupidly, shaking his head. "I'm sure he has nothing to do with her anymore. It's just a crazy stalker who shows up here every now and then."
"It's good to know that _sometimes _you are threatened with a gun," I had to grin now, too, and suddenly he curiously raised one of his eyebrows.
"Were you scared?"
"In front of her?" I wanted to know and he just nodded.
"Not likely," I shrugged, looking out at the beautiful sea. "My older cousins used to play with guns, so it's nothing new to me. Also, my dad taught me that the calmer you react to a gun, the less chance there is of really getting snapped at."
Senan seemed impressed and smiled as he slowly walked past me and took the first set of stairs.
"Welcome to the Mrs. Gallagher family," I heard him say behind me and rolled my eyes in amusement.
At least he had distracted me from Rian for a moment, who found his way back into my mind now that I was standing here alone with Nero.
Grabbing my head, I thought about what to do now.
I really didn't want to go back to the villa. You could probably hear her moaning through the whole house and I could save myself this humiliation.
But here on the beach it was definitely too hot for me and I would definitely look like a crab in a few hours.
"We're going shopping, what do you think?" I then said to Nero, who seemed busy trying to cope with the heat here, just like me. "Come big."
I ran ahead of him back up the stairs and then hesitated for a moment on the terrace before slowly stepping back into the living room.
To my surprise, the three brothers stood by the kitchen island and stared at me stupidly, the conversation they were having earlier ending in an instant.
What a bad feeling, but at least there was nothing left of the snipe here. Maybe it didn't take long for him to be in bed before she left satisfied.
"Well, I have to buy some things," I said confidently and only looked at Senan, because I didn't want to return Rian's look. That bastard didn't deserve it.
"Good," he said, and as he walked towards me around the kitchen island, my gaze wandered to him, which made me curse on the inside.
His eyes fixed on mine and my irises only fleetingly flitted over his still naked upper body until I completely averted my gaze from him.
"Then we'll go shopping."
I immediately shook my head.
"I can manage on my own. Just give me some money and tell me how to get to town," I demanded, but he just looked at me coldly and denied my suggestion.
"You won't leave this house alone. There are too many who would love to do something to me and could use you as leverage," he said and then turned to Odran. "Are you going?"
My eyes also fell on Odran, who nodded silently and walked past us to the stairs.
"Be at the door in 20 minutes."
"Are you sure you don't want me to accompany you?" Rian asked me again and I immediately put on a provocative smile before looking up at him.
"More than safe. You must have your hands full at Miss Double D, so don't let that stop you!"
I was about to go to the stairs to change upstairs when he suddenly held my hand and just this touch triggered a subtle tingling in me that I immediately turned away by snatching my hand away from him again.
"You should watch your tone!"
He looked at me seriously, not allowing any emotion.
"Maybe you should make sure that I don't get a gun pointed in my face before my breakfast in the morning. Have a nice day!"
Without looking at him or Senan again, I ran up the stairs and slammed the door when I got to my floor.
"Idiot!"
***
I rummaged through my suitcase like a madwoman and was shocked to find that there were only sleeping things and a single pair of long jeans in it.
So either I'd sweat like a pig or I'd look totally ridiculous...
My eyes fell on the dress I wore to the wedding yesterday and I just decided to put it on again. I couldn't care less.
When I was ready and ran down the stairs into the living room, Odran was already standing at the door and was waiting for me.
Without wasting any time thinking about where Rian might be, I padded over to the black-haired man and left the house with him in silence to first have a look at the cars under the carport in the light.
"Wow," I muttered to myself, and while I didn't know a thing about cars, I could tell just how expensive they were by just the way they looked.
"Are you coming? I don't have all day!" Odran instructed me impatiently and I immediately made it my business to shop extra slowly. If he thought I would dance to his tune, he was wrong.
He opened the passenger door of a yellow Porsche for me and grinning stupidly I dropped onto the warm leather and then took a quick look around the interior.
The car had an elegance about it that would have been more befitting of a woman than a giant like Odran, but I bit back my voice and buckled my seat belt while he sat next to me and revved the engine.
My gaze fell once more to the front door of the mansion and then I had to reluctantly imagine that Rian was probably messing around with the fire alarm, which made me wistfully look ahead again.
"He threw her out," Odran suddenly said and I looked over at him questioningly while he steered the car safely through the gate and we drove along the road towards the city.
"How do you know I even care?" I asked coolly, but inside I was grinning like a little kid at Christmas at his words.
"Your look speaks volumes," he revealed to me, and I immediately felt somehow caught. If he could read my emotions so easily in my facial expressions, then how good was Rian at seeing through me.
"You have no idea," I blurted out, overwhelmed, and quickly turned my gaze out of the window to watch the villas pass me by.
The heat in the car was really bearable due to the air conditioning, but this air was still suffocating. Maybe the climate by the sea was different, but it probably took me some time to get used to it completely.
So while I closed my eyes, listened to the soft music on the radio, and internally gleefully amused that Rian had thrown out that fire alarm, Odran drove us safely into town and then parked away from the shops.
"Here we are."
I glanced at him and then got out of the car to look around curiously.
I really liked the surroundings, with all the trees and bushes, but unfortunately I hardly had time to enjoy anything at all.
My gaze fell to Odran, who was watching me with folded arms and impatiently tapping his foot on the floor.
I would put him to the test!
"What are you standing there for? Let's go," I grinned provocatively at him and walked past him through a narrow alley to come out directly on a wide street where the most expensive shops I had ever seen were located.
Just the prices in the shop windows made my throat tight and all the finely dressed people walking past me really made me feel a bit uncomfortable in my self-sewn dress.
"Odran?" I then clutched his arm as some strangers started taking pictures of me.
Completely overwhelmed, I looked up at him and he now targeted the men who kept taking pictures of me.
"Go into the shop over there. I know the owner. I'll be right behind you," said the giant and then ran towards one of the guys.
I really wanted to keep running to the shop, but on the other hand I also wanted to see what Odran was up to.
With a jerk, he tore the camera away from the blond milk boy and threw it so hard on the ground that small parts flew everywhere.
"What's going on here," I whispered, still slightly irritated, unable to move another millimeter.
It was clear to me that Rian was well known in town and everyone knew him and his life. That he even needed security guards to protect his home, but only now that multiple cameras were trained on me did I understand the full scope of my wedding.
Everyone wanted to see the woman by their side and tomorrow the biggest headline would probably be 'Unmakeup Gypsy at the Side of a Mafia Boss'.
What a crap!
"Always smile," I suddenly heard a voice behind me and before I could turn around, I felt a hand on my arm, which carefully pulled me with it.
"What are you doing here?" I asked Senan, looking up at him nervously.
"It's a coincidence. I'm going to meet up with an acquaintance and now smile."
I just did, smiling prettily as he led me to one of the shops and glancing back at Odran to see him just grabbing a guy by the collar.
"Rian smears the newspapers, so don't worry and have fun," Senan whispered to me and held open the glass door to a boutique for me, which I then hurriedly entered after giving him a thankful nod.
Here in the cool shop, I calmed down a bit and then quickly started to look around carefully. The clerk was playing with her phone and didn't seem really interested in me, so I walked to the beautiful dresses in the back corner and picked a few before I remembered what I was going through because of Rian.
He would see...
I hung back the long dresses and then turned to the ones that looked really short and sexy.
I picked out a black, a red and a light blue one and was about to go to the changing room with it when Odran entered the shop and the saleswoman seemed to come to life again.
"Ohhh, have a wonderful day Mr. Gallagher," she addressed him in her squeaky voice, tossing her brown curls seductively over her shoulder.
How cheap. Not even paying attention to me as a customer, but probably putting your tits in his face right away.
Rolling my eyes, I disappeared into one of the three cabins and tried on the clothes, which seemed really dangerously short on my body. The black fell just over my bottom and I had to admit I liked it.
I didn't have the blonde's physique or the redhead's horns, but I had my charms, too, and the time had come to use them properly.
With a dirty grin on my face, I put my old dress back on and then stepped out of the cabin.
Odran was still talking to the curly head and I skillfully stood right next to him to hold the clothes out to him.
"Can we then?" he asked impatiently, but I just raised an eyebrow and smiled triumphantly at him.
"That was just the beginning. It could take a while."
His patience would surely break soon!
