Chapter 17
The drive was quiet-- only the faint noise from the radio was present. The road was too quiet, there were hardly any cars driving. Maybe it was because it was late, I thought to myself.
"Don't tell me, you wanna kidnap me?!" I whisper yell.
Ricardo took a quick look at my face before chuckling
"How come, you are just realising?" He smirked and I panicked.
Relax, Lily, he's just kidding. "You are kidding right?" I asked. He was quiet for a while before he clicked his tongue.
"Tsk tsk tsk, you ask some silly questions," he replied.
"Then tell me where we're going,"
I hated not being told where I was going, it always makes me feel uneasy.
"Relax until we get there," he replied calmly.
Ricardo is one complicated dude. He keeps giving me mixed vibes, and after realising that I developed a crush on Ricardo, many different feelings raced through my body. When I wake up, all I want is to see his face. I know this is kinda fast but it only takes a day to actually feel something.
And now that I'm beginning to understand something, something that scares me. He acts like he doesn't feel the same way, but at the same time, I feel like he does. He's always around. He acts differently around me and shows me a side of him he doesn't show others at school.
After some time, he parked his car in a secluded area.
"Isn't this restricted?" I asked.
"It is, and?" He raises his brows.
"It's illegal!"
"Rules are made to be broken, Vixen, so relax and learn to break 'em because. If no one breaks rules, there is no fun in living," he said smiling like it's an achievement to break rules.
"You're mad Ricardo!" I scoff, getting out of the car.
"At least, I don't need a therapist," he replied and we continued our walk when, suddenly, he stopped.
When I walked closer, I was amazed by the view. It's a cliff and it's so awe-inspiring. How does he know about places like this?
"Wow!"
"I know, it's beautiful, isn't it, Lily?" Anytime he calls me any of those nicknames, I swoon. He sends tingles all over my body.
"What are you doing?" I asked Ric who was pulling his shirt over his head.
"Diving in the water," he smirked. "Wanna take the risk?"
"What?! No! You could get hurt jumping into the water from this height!"
"Vixen... tsk tsk tsk, do you always have to scold me?"
"I thought you wanted to let loose, this is the best way," he said to me.
He walked closer and bent down to meet me at eye level.
I couldn't help but feel goosebumps spread on my skin when he placed his hands on my arms.
"It's refreshing and fun- like flying without wings," he assures me.
The way he spoke made me calm, it was soothing and warm.
The more he did this, the faster my heart beat. I couldn't help but stare into his eyes until he broke contact.
He clears his throat, "Are you in?"
"I can't go in this way," I said pointing to my outfit.
"I will give you my shirt to wear," he said.
Wearing his shirt, that would be nice.
My heart was pumping rapidly. I loved the feeling but at the same time, it scares me.
"Turn around," I tell him and he did so.
I hurriedly pull my top off and threw on his shirt which covered my entire body, stopping just above my knees
Then I pulled off my jeans.
"You can turn around now," I tell him.
The way he stared at me scared me. It was dark but I could feel his eyes because it sent shivers down my spine.
He clears his throat "Wanna... go first or should I?" He croaked.
"Go first," I replied smiling.
The next thing I knew, Ric jumped into the water with a backflip.
As soon as he jumped in, I didn't see him rising. I got scared.
I panicked as different, dangerous thoughts came running through my mind. Did he hit his head on a rock?
I hurriedly jumped in to save him. As I landed and raised back up, I still couldn't see him, I bobbed my face in and out of the water and was about to dive in again only to be attacked from behind.
"Got ya!" The attacker teased and I screamed. Ric was laughing at his stupid joke.
"I knew, you weren't gonna jump until something made you," he laughed and that made me mad.
"You're crazy!" I hit his chest "I thought you hit your head on a rock!" I cried out still hitting him while he laughed.
"Jerk! Stupid Ricardo! You should have hit your head, maybe then you would have a bit of sense!" I whined while still hitting him.
He grabbed ahold of both of my small hands.
I struggled to get away from his grip, trying to avoid the warmth I felt while he held my hands to continue hitting him but he held my hands firmly.
"Did I scare you?" He asked with a low voice.
The way he said those words made my heart flutter, they were low and attractive.
I tried to speak but I was at a loss for words.
"I... I..." I stuttered.
Why was it so damn hard? This was why they said you get nervous when you're with your crush. You don't even know what to say, and, sometimes, you are scared of saying the wrong things.
"I wasn't... scared!" I blurted out without realising. Stupid mouth!
"Doesn't seem that way to me," he laughed. How can he laugh right now? Was it really that funny? Why is he so hard to read?
"Purple is a nice color, you know," he said suddenly. What is he talking about
Then I realized he was staring at my bra, his shirt was transparent.
He laughed when he saw my shocked reaction. "Pervert!" I yelled trying to hit him while he swam away and I chased after him.
We finally got out of the water, it was a nice swim and very refreshing. It felt good and I'd love to do it again. We finally got back to the top of the cliff where we sat down, drying ourselves off. I told him to turn around again so I could change back into my clothes which he did.
"Thanks for today," I told him.
"It was nothing," he replied.
"How do you find places like this?" I asked.
"That's my secret baby,"
Baby! Did he just call me baby!? I mentally squeal. This isn't the first time he's said that but now it felt special.
I'm getting in too deep. This isn't going to end well and I'm just gonna get hurt. "It's getting late, we better go," I tell him standing up to my feet. I have to get out of here before I cry.
Why was I feeling this way? He's confusing, he rarely talks, and he only answers in riddles.
