Chapter 7
I jumped when a hand snaked around my waist and a hot breath fawned on my ear and neck. The next thing I heard left me shocked.
"You don't know that what you do to me turns me on." Ric whispered, sending shivers down my spine.
And that was how I lost my voice. I stood frozen at that spot and couldn't think of anything to comprehend.
I was lost until Crystal called my name and asked us to leave.
THE NEXT DAY
I needed to sleep, I needed more sleep but here I was standing under the shower with sleepy eyes.
Why won't school just end once and for all, so I could sleep and wake up till when I please?
"Liliana! Don't tell me you are still taking your bath?!" Juliana screamed from whenever she was but did I really care, not at all.
I did not hate school but the time we go to school matters, why couldn't just all school begin at ten o'clock am?
There was no way I'd leave this bathroom soon. I needed rest and as soon as i was done sleeping in here, I definitely will have time for school.
Just as I sat down on the floor to take a quick nap, the door to my room banged open, startling me.
I looked at the door to see an angry Juliana with her arms folded across her chest.
"What are you doing?" She asked me with a scowl.
I sheepishly smiled, gently standing up to my feet. "Good morning to the very best sister in the world!" I exclaimed with excitement although within me I wasn't.
"I woke you up about an hour ago and you haven't taken your bath yet? Like seriously Liliana?" She frowned and within me I started to feel guilty.
"Can i not go to school today, please?" I pleaded.
"Not go to school? It's your third day today and you are already running away? What's the problem with you Liliana?" She asked me and I frowned.
She wasn't trying to be understanding right now. "You are unbelievable!" I spat out.
"I don't even want to see your face," I added, shutting her off my door and taking a shower.
Once Juliana parked the car in front of my school, I came down without telling her goodbye. That suits her right.
I walked towards the school building until I heard my name being called by someone. I turned around to realise it was Crystal.
"I was waiting for you," Crystal said, giving me a sincere smile. It's been a long I have had a friend or even in general, it's been long since anyone wanted to be my friend.
Maybe this city was a city for a change. "Good morning," I greeted Crystal.
"So, I have been wanting to ask for your phone number and secondly," She paused to bring out her phone from her purse.
"And secondly what?" I asked her to type my phone number into her phone.
"You just started this school this week and you already know Ricardo? I mean not that he is a snub or anything but is rare for just anyone to get to talk to him," She said to me and I halted.
"Firstly, he is my neighbor who actually showed me this city when I first arrived," I said to her.
"OMG! you stay close to him?" She asked and I nodded my head.
"Lucky you but that is just that, what's your first class?" She asked me.
"Lily!" Juli screamed as she entered my room.
Juli is usually chaotic. She doesn't know that not everyone likes noise as much as she does. It's like music to her ears.
We have both settled our issue and back on good terms.
"Guess what?" She asked with excitement.
"I hate guessing, just tell me already," I replied, falling flat on my bed. I really needed to sleep.
Sleeping was my first baby, don't mind me but who doesn't love to sleep? I know I do.
It's Saturday today and after my last encounter with Ric, the flirting got worse. It really started to irritate me.
During the week, I got to know Ric a little better. He was the school star, girls swoon over him. Every day, he is either with Blondie or Barbie caked face.
I would be lying if I said he wasn't attractive but I will never admit to it in his face. He was fine but if I told him, he'd frustrate the hell out of me than he was doing.
While I avoided Ric, I got to know more about the new city and Crystal. For some reason, I've been getting hateful glares from girls in the school.
Crystal told me it was because I was new and suddenly I was becoming a big topic and a threat to the girls. Like seriously? If I was really the Liliana Lim of Florida high, obviously, they'd be on the second lap while I was done with the race.
I don't know what's in this city but there were many things I wanted to figure out.
"I just made new friends and we are going to the beach together today!" Juliana exclaimed with excitement.
"Is that all?" I asked dryly. She made new friends and she's screaming like she's won a lottery when she had thousands of them.
"You don't get me, do you?" She asked, raising her brows.
I shook my head, "No."
"You and Dennis are coming with me to meet her siblings and get to know each other!" She exclaimed once more.
I smile strangely." Ohhh... I'm busy. " I replied.
"You can't tell me that. Now get ready!" She said firmly and walked away.
There is something about Juli you should know, she can be bossy when she wants to. When she's like that, you just can't say no.
We were on our way to the beach and I've been asking her the name of this mysterious friend of hers but she's refused to tell me.
"Shh, Lily. I will tell you when we get there or you will see them yourself.
We finally arrived at the beach.
"Did you get everything we need?" Juli asked me.
"Yes," I replied.
"Juliana!" A tiny high pitched voice screamed.
"Dang it! Do people have to be this loud." I proclaimed.
A red-haired girl that had the figure of a model ran towards our direction and hugged Juliana.
"Mariana!" Juli exclaimed excitedly too. I see why they said birds of the same feather flock together.
They were both energetic and noisy. Wawu! I wished I was like her most times.
"Mariana, meet my little sis Lily and my baby bro-." Dennis cuts her off.
"I don't remember being your baby brother, or am I?" Dennis spoke with his deep voice cutting Juliana off, making all of us laugh.
"That's Dennis," Juli said after laughing for what seems like an hour.
"Hi Dennis, hi Lily." Mariana waved and greeted.
"Where are your siblings?" Juli asked.
"There." Mariana pointed towards her back direction.
Omg!? Don't tell me this was happening. Ric, Rich, and Tyler coming towards our direction with a pretty girl that I saw at Ric's house the other day.
Phew! Maybe they are not the ones but they are coming closer... and closer... and closer.
And here they were! What a way to start the weekend.
So he was related to a beauty like her? I see it runs in their family blood.
"Juli, meeting my sis, Rose, and my younger brother Rico. These are my brothers' friends, Richard and Tyler." She introduced one after the other.
I finally raised my head to meet theirs and for a while shivers ran down my spine.
"Hi." Juli greeted and so did Dennis while I watched in confusion.
"Hi, babe!" Richard spoke.
I furrowed my brows in confusion. Was Richard nuts? This dude and his Friend Ricardo were starting to get on my nerves.
I wondered when I became their babe for them to share just like they do to Blondie and Barbie caked face.
I gave him a what's your problem smile and shoved him off.
"You know them, Lily?" Juli asked.
"Yeah, the tyrants of the school," I smirked
"So did your sis, like, tell you I'm her boyfriend?" Richard asked Juli and wrapped his arms around my shoulder which I shrugged away immediately.
"Really Lily?" Juli asked, amazed.
"And you believe that?!" I scoffed.
"Come on let's get settled!" Mariana shouts.
After a while, Mariana and Juli left to take a swim leaving the rest of us together.
"Lily!" I heard a familiar voice scream my name.
I turned around to see Crystal, running towards my direction and once she was closed, she pulled me into a hug.
"I didn't know you were coming to the beach, you should have told me." Crystal said.
"Crystal, What are you doing here?" I asked her even though I knew it was a foolish question.
"I came with my cousins, they came to visit," She waved towards two girls and they walked in our direction.
"Hot chicks!" Tyler rubbed his palms together with a smirk plastered on his face.
I frowned, how old was he again that he was so lady minded? It was really sad seeing young guys who weren't up to twenty one already casanova. I wondered what it's be like for them, when they really grow up?
"Hi, guys!" Crystal's cousins waved as soon as they approached us.
