THIRTY-FOUR
Wow...that long??
"There's nothing-"
"That's bull crap if you tell me there's nothing to say." He said look in at me with a bored look.
"What?! There is no-"
"No Mai. I want to know-"
"You already know." I looked away from him. "You already know that he took me, he hurt-"
"I know that. That's why he's going to be burned alive. But no, That's not what I'm asking. I'm asking what's going on in your mind. What are you feeling right now? Your fuckin thoughts. Talk to me. Tell me."
"Nothing Vincenzo. "
"Mai-"
"Can we just go to the plane?" I looked back up to him. He stared at me with no emotion and he didn't look anywhere else except my eyes. His eyes fell and he looked down to the sheets.
"Lets go." He said low. But that didn't make my heart jump. He slowly got up and took a deep breath in and then sighed. He fixed his hat and I saw his hand pat his waist band, and I knew what he was looking for. He always has it there.
He looked back towards me and then gave me a look, and then turned around and walked to the side of the bed, and went to grab my arm. "I'm not sure if you're supposed to take these out or not...but I'm taking them out anyway." He grabs my arm that held all kinds of wires that was connected to hand and wrist.
"What?-" I felt the needles get pulled out and I couldn't help but cringe and feel a slight pain when they slipped out of my skin. "Okay. I'm going to look for- wait. Have you been to the restroom yet?" He still had a hold on my arm but he looked at me and I pursed my lips.
"Noooo..."
He lifted an eyebrow,"do you need to go?"
This time I lifted an eyebrow, "nooo...?? Yes??? I don't know?! I think?"
"Ugh, what is it Mai. Yes or no."
"Yes."
He let go of my arm and looked around. "I'll be back." He said as his back was towards me. I was going to say something but he walked out. I sighed and laid against the pillows.
It wasn't even a minute before he came back while rolling a wheelchair. "I stole this." He said. He rolled it next to me and walked beside it till he was right next to me. "I'll get you more medicine before we leave so you can just sleep the flight." He grabbed my hand and pulled up till I was sitting.
Pain started to crawl up my leg but I bit my lip. His other hand went behind my back and under my arm pit and started to drag my off the bed. This time I hissed. He quickly grabbed my legs and picked me up bridal style and I cried out in pain. He quickly set me but gently set me on the wheelchair and it hurt so much to bend my knee.
My hands went instantly down to my leg and I tried to straighten out my leg because it feels way better than having it bent. "What's wrong?"
I shook my head and cried when my knee started to throb. "Mai." I continued to cry and his hand held my cheeks and lifted up my head. I had my eyes closed shut while my hands still gripped my leg, lifting it up, trying to ease the pain. But nothing's working.
"Mai. Look at me. I'm sorry that I've hurt you, but look at me." He said softly. I open my eyes and looked at him with watery eyes.
"Trust me. Okay?" He said as his face was close to mine and his eyes stare deep in mine.
I continued to stare at him and I wasn't paying attention to the pain because I was lost in his green eyes. "Okay?"
I nodded but he continued to stare in mine. "I trust you." I said.
He gave a soft smile and one of his hand tracked down my check and down to my neck. My heart was racing and he leaned forward and then I felt his fingers move and the a slight pinch.
"Trust me." He said. And that was the last thing I heard from him before I knocked out cold.
*******
"How long did you pinch her?" I heard Edward say.
"Only till she knocked out, which was really fast. So I don't know why she's gone for so long. Is that fûckin normal?"
"Well. I don't know. I'm really now knocking out people."
"I have only done it once. And it was with you. But you woke up like five minutes. She hasn't even woke up for two hours. So, I don't know." I felt someone touch my cheek and then down to my neck and pushed their fingers in my neck but it didn't hurt at all just a little pressure.
"Well her heart is beating. So you didn't kill her. And it's a normal pace. So, I don't know. She just probably knocks out for awhile. I don't know the average time for a person to knock out."
"Well I feel like this is not normal. Like. Two hours?? Did I press her neck to hard? Like I knocked her out before, with my gun. But she never knocked out for this long. Is it a different time if you knock someone out with your fingers and the end of your gun?? Because clearly there is and I didn't even know about it."
I was having enough fun so I open my eyes and I looked straight into his green eyes. He was sitting in front of me while he had a cup of liquor in hand. He was sitting in one of the seat while he had his leg up resting on his other knee and his hat resting on the arm rester.
I looked around and I saw my leg prop up and I see that I'm wearing a large t-shirt and some shorts. I'm leaning back on a chair? I don't know, I didn't bother to look. I look at my leg and it's swollen badly.
"About time you woke up." Vincenzo said, acting like he wasn't freakin out minutes before.
I rolled my eyes and looked up to him. "When you said to trust you, I didn't think you'll knock me out."
"But look. I got you on the plane with no pain. I only knocked you out because you were in pain and it's easier just carrying you if you're not crying in pain."
"You don't know what this pain feels like."
"I know worse pain Mai. Yeah, that's painful but I know what worse pain feels like." He said as he took a gulp of his drink.
"I can only imagine the difference."
"Oh you can only imagine."
