"TELL ME, who is it?"

Vivianne swallowed hard and seemed to freeze in her place. She was used to her father's behavior like this. Alfred would suddenly throw a knife from time to time, but she never reacted to it.

But something was different about Alfred now... It seemed like he was ready to kill at any moment. Vivianne wondered what she had said that triggered her father to be like this.

"Where did you see a tattoo identical to mine?" Alfred asked again, his voice now deeper than before.

"I'm not sure," Vivianne replied, lowering her head and taking a deep breath to control the trembling in her body. "The infinity sign tattoo is common, so I don't understand why you're reacting this way."

"My tattoo has small thorns surrounding the sign," said Alfred, his gaze unwavering. "Did you see the same thing?"

"I'm not sure," Vivianne tilted her head, pretending to think about something. "I'll let you know when I can confirm what I saw."

"And how can I be sure?"

Vivianne sighed before clasping her hands together, not caring if Alfred's gun was pointed at her. She knew he wouldn't kill her. "You have mom, and I know you have me watched by various people. Why don't you trust me?"

Alfred didn't immediately respond to Vivianne's statement. He thought for a moment, then eventually lowered the gun, allowing Vivianne to breathe.

"Just make sure you don't make any mistakes," Alfred said coldly.

Vivianne nodded before leaving her father's office. But before that, she headed to where her mother Ella was. She wanted to have a conversation with her to distract her mind, but Ella was asleep.

She didn't want to disturb her mother, so she watched her while she slept. When her gaze fell on the few scars near her mother's wrist, her vision darkened.

Vivianne knew that she was one of the reasons why Ella had done that to herself. At first, she had wanted to hate her own existence as she saw her mother suffer. But now, she knew better.

She shouldn't blame herself. She should punish the people responsible for her father's involvement in an illegal organization.

"You're my only priority, Mom. Only you..." Vivianne whispered as she touched Ella's hand. "I'll do anything to rid us of the people who put you in this situation."

Vivianne clenched her jaw, remembering how harsh life had been for them. "I'll kill them all... and spare no one."

As time flew by, they didn't realize that a month had already passed. Beckett's reputation was soaring to fame, just like Vivianne's career as a dress stylist. Beckett was right when he talked about Vivianne before. It didn't take long for various companies to recognize Vivianne's talent in her work.

Too bad, Beckett made her his exclusive stylist the moment he knew that someone was going to steal Vivianne away from him. He just couldn't let that happen. Vivianne belonged to him alone, and so did all of her time and attention.

That's why they were always together, whether at work or not. Just like now, Vivianne was picking out clothes for the awarding ceremony she was going to, while he wasn't paying attention. They were the only two in the large, cold room, and Vivianne's presence wasn't helping him control his desire.

Beckett snapped back to reality and saw Vivianne, who looked stunning in her peach dress. He glanced at her thigh and swallowed hard. He remembered how he had pleasured Vivianne repeatedly in the previous days, yet he couldn't get enough of her.

"Are you listening to me? I've been talking to you for a while now," the woman added with a furrowed brow. "Is something bothering you? Are you nervous about receiving the award?"

"Oh, okay then. Why were you daydreaming earlier?" Vivianne asked before pouting. There, Beckett swallowed hard again. "Help me choose between these two dresses. This black one or the white one?"

Beckett slowly approached Vivianne, but she quickly backed away. She could sense desire in his voice, and she could see it in his eyes.

"I prefer you..." Beckett said with a grin. He leaned Vivianne against the wall and placed his hands on both sides of her head. "I prefer you naked here, moaning while I fuck you nonstop."

"We're at work..." Vivianne replied in a soft voice. "Behave yourself! We'll be heading to the Grand Arena in a little while!"

They both had things to take care of, and they knew they were keeping secrets from each other. She just hoped that one day they would be able to reveal those secrets to each other, and she hoped that whatever secrets they held wouldn't destroy their love.

Beckett was nearing the end of his speech when Vivianne's cell phone vibrated with two messages. One was from the hospital, providing an update on the child who had been shot at the orphanage. She smiled, relieved to know that the child was improving. However, when she read the second text message, her brow furrowed.
