Chapter 20
~ Timber POV
As I started to wake up, I smelled the most awful smell there was. It smelt like old blood, sweat and fear mixed with a hint of death. My head felt groggy, and I couldn’t move.
I feel so weak. What happened to me? ‘Karin? You there?’ I asked my wolf, but no answer came back. I tried to rub my aching head, but my arms were chained to the wall. I could see a single light barely lit dangling from the ceiling.
Then memories started to hit me like a wall… ‘My dream!’
Fear shot through me as I remembered my nightmare and I started to panic. I couldn’t see anyone. I couldn’t hear anyone for that matter either. Why do I feel so weak? My body hurts and I cannot get Karin.
“I’ve been drugged with wolfsbane!” I said in a low voice, not quite a whisper remembering I was hit in the neck with something before… ‘Johnathon help me!’ I tried linking to him.
I tried to reach my powers, but it was no use. I was so weak from the poison of the wolfsbane I couldn’t do anything. I wasn’t even sure if I was calling it correctly because I haven’t figured out how to call it at will. I feel so defeated. I want Johnathon. Tears started fleeing from my eyes as I sobbed quietly.
It felt like hours when I heard sounds from outside. Voices. Someone’s coming.
“Is she awake?” an unknown voice said with venom in his sneer. “Yes sir. We heard crying and some movement shuffling at one point.” Another voice said calmly and directly. “Good.” Why did it sound like he was smiling when he said that?
I tried not to look straight at the door when I heard a key move to unlock it. I moved as far back into a small space as I could when the door opened. “Hello, Timber. It’s nice to have finally met you.” He said with a smirk on his face while sounding condescending.
“I have been searching for you for a long time, and looky here” giving an evil smirk in such a way that made my skin crawl “I now have you.” Laughing out loud like his evil plan has now come into full play.
“What do you want? Who are you?” I questioned without looking at him directly and trying to not sound as afraid as I was. “Why Timber?” he said mockingly with a slow, smirk like grin, stretching across his face as he said, “I’m your mate, Kronin.”
I looked at him for the first time and realized I was in serious trouble. He was dark in his features and mannerisms. He even walked in a slow stalking motion. It was like he was slithering in the cell they held me in.
“No! You’re not. I have my mate, and you’re not him!” I said in disgust. He smiled wider as his eyes drew closer together and inches from my face “No sweetheart, I am your mate… now.” Placing emphasis on am and now. My eyes grew wider and fear suddenly took over me as I shook my head from side to side in disbelief.
He reached out and touched my face with his fingers and I turned my face from him. Angrily he snatched me back grabbing hold of my jaw holding me in place. His eyes grew darker. His face darkened and he smiled an evil sinister smile showing his slowly prolonging canines that left me frozen in fear.
I tried again to link to Johnathon. Nothing. I tried to reach Karin. Nothing. I’m in big trouble here.
“You will be my mate. You will obey me. You will do what I say, when I say, and how I say.” His face grew more sinister as his features continued to darken. I tried to pull from his grip but couldn’t.
He forced his mouth onto mine so hard it hurt. I squinched and wrinkled my face with the pain. He bit my lower lip when I wouldn’t let him in my mouth. He licked the blood as he smiled and started to walk out of the room. “Give her nothing for 3 days. Let’s see how she behaves after that.” “Yes sir” was said as they both walked out of the cell slamming and locking the door behind them.
