Chapter 27

~Timber POV~

“Alright men! The boys know what to do. You are only to spar with each other while Myles and Marcus demonstrate their powers in offensive and protection and defensive strategies. This training is not only for you but also for them to practice on you in case they must protect you for any reason. This first half the boys are going to attack you like they are magical rogues. This way you will know what the energies feel like when in use on you or your wolf. Remember as long as you are wearing your stealth uniforms you and your wolves are protected. It may not seem like it at first but you are. Disorientation is normal at first, so do not worry.” pausing to gather my own thoughts as they process what I just said. “Now, after they are the rogues in this part of training, you will then become the pack they are ‘defending’...” making air quotes as I said the word ‘defending’. “ The boys will then use their gifts to keep you safe. We want to see if you are still able to fight during that time if needed. Your training today is not going to be like any other training you have done in the past. Any questions?” I ended my statement.

“NO Luna!” was heard in unison before I waved them off to spar with each other around us. Going back to the boys, preparing them to be ready to attack.

“Ok boys. You are going to throw energy balls, or any other energy form you like at the warriors. Remember you are playing the rogues… and they are the pack. Treat them as the enemy when you play ok?” giving them a little smirk. They nodded after looking at each other for a moment. The look in their eyes tells me if the energies placed in the uniforms don’t work, they’re going to be in trouble.

“Don't worry mommy! We play this ALL the time. We’re good at this game.” a little weary chuckle leaves my lips as Myles said this. “Ok you can start playing whenever you are ready, boys.” giving them the go head.

I watched the boys run off into a neighboring tree and climb it near the top before stopping. ‘What are they doing?’ Karin asked in our link. ‘I honestly do not know, Karin.’ to be honest as I have never seen them play this game before. At least I don’t think I have?

I drew my attention to the warriors sparring with each other as per any other day around me. Then I saw it. A green flash of energy burst in between a group of men causing them to stumble backwards but not fall down. Stopping, they looked around for the cause but could not find it. Confusion visible on their faces as I told them to go back to sparring.

Then it happened again. This time it was a blur of energy that shot through the training grounds. Hitting one warrior but not another. Almost spider-like in its movements. They boys really have been playing with their energies more than I thought?

After a few times of the boys' energies being thrust at them at various times, speeds, and intensities, the men started to adapt better to it. At one point during sparring, many of the men transformed into their wolves as their wolves also got used to its feel and presence. That’s when I thought I would throw a curveball in there by freezing them at various points of impact. I wanted to see how they adjusted and recovered from the feeling.

I was very impressed by how well the new uniforms and the warriors adapted to everything coming at them. The freezing took many off guard when it happened, but like before with the original warriors who volunteered to try these suits out, they quickly got a handle on it. It has been over an hour of training like this so I thought we should change the game.

“Alright men! Myles! Marcus! Stand down.” I projected my voice as the Luna aura swarmed out from me causing the men to take a knee bowing their heads instantly. ‘Oops! Sorry.’ I heard Karin say in my head. ‘Really Karin? Did you have to be so forceful? You know the Luna aura is already strong without you pushing your weight behind it.’ saying a little annoyed, although it was still funny.

“Awe mommy we were having fun.” the boys whined as they shouted from the tree top. All eyes looked up to where they were calling from seeing two little boys pouting with their bottom lip pushed so far out I thought it was being pulled from their mouths. Laughter fell from my lips at the sight of them.

“I know you were but the men need you to protect them now. No more trying to hurt them, ok?” I spoke gently yet in a motherly tone so they knew I meant business.

“Yes mommy.” was heard in unison from the tree. “Do we get to play Alpha now, mommy?” Myles asked after he put his lower lip away. I just nodded my head and smiled at them.

“Men. We are now going to change our training up. The boys will now be your protectors. They will be protecting you from me.” saying rather abruptly. “You will need to know what it feels like to be in their protection as you are fighting so you can still fight while in their encasement. Do you have any questions?”

“NO Luna!” was heard in unison as they changed partners and started sparring again.

“Ok boys, I will be trying to hurt and freeze them. I want you to protect them. Understand?”

“Yes mommy.” they said in unison.

“Does it matter how we protect them?” Marcus asked. Raising my eyebrow I was starting to feel like this was going to be bad for me. However, I still nodded, smiled and hugged. “Protect them from the enemy boys. That’s your job as Alpha right?” kneeling in front of them while I spoke.

“Right!” they said after looking at each other, then back at me mischievously.

‘Yep. we are not going to like this Timber.’ Karin said, watching their expressions too.

I started simple by throwing energies of different types at the men. To my surprise most of them never touched them, but incinerated before they came near them. Upping my game, I used the energies as one entity in my attacks. Moving snake-like tentacles among the men trying to grab them to pick them up. At first it was working. I grabbed a few men at a time slinging them across the field for them only to land safely like something had grabbed hold of them placing them down gently.

‘Hey love. How’s training going? Are the men adapting well, and are those suits doing what we hoped?’ a very husky voice echoed in my mind. For generic questions, his voice sent electricity through my body.

‘Very well actually. The boys are better than I thought with their gifts. The men have and their suits are adapting well. I need to get back to the Southern Border to ensure all of our men now have them. One training is over I will go there to see Andreas.’ I say as I throw another energy blast their way. Levitating off the ground, I gather energy into myself before throwing a large one out amongst the warriors below me.

‘Send them back when you’re done. I want to see them before sending them out on patrols.’ giving him a mental smile, I nodded, while lowering myself closer to the ground.

‘The pups have gotten good at defense. I can’t see the force fields at all.’ Karin spoke, impressed by their abilities. ‘I agree. Let’s see what the boys do if I try to freeze them.’ lifting my hands to freeze only one man in each sparring group. To my surprise I couldn’t. I was not able to connect. ‘I wonder if I can concentrate on all the energies to freeze if it will matter?’ saying to no one in particular in my head.

To my surprise I was only able to reach in so far, and slow them down but no freezing. Where the boy's protection fails the suits pick-up. Interesting. I thought to myself. Now I just need to get every warrior into these suits and train with them all.

“Alright men! Boys! We’re done for the day.” I spoke loud and intentionally. The boys started climbing down from the tree they were in as the men gathered around waiting for more direction. “Awe! But mommy we were having fun playing Alpha.” they whined in unison like the twins they are.

“I know boys but we’re done for the day. We’ve been out here for hours. I think daddy wants his men back now. You can play again later with the warriors ok?” turning to look in their direction as they leaped from the lowest branch onto the ground.

“Ok mommy. Can we go watch t.v. and eat lunch now?”

“Yes baby. Go on inside and I’ll be in, in a few minutes. Let me finish up here first. See if Magda has returned to help you until I get there. OK?” kneeling down to their level, placing a kiss on each of them before they ran off into the house squealing with laughter.

“Your Alpha is waiting for you men to return for your patrol duties. Thank you for your help today and I hope it was just as enlightening for you as well.” They thanked me and went off towards the regular training areas.

“Andreas. Thank you for the men you had sent over earlier. Those new stealth suits definitely lived up to our hopes. We need to enhance more of them. How many suits are ready now?” I said walking into the lab.

“Luna. Nice to see you again. I’m glad they worked like we hoped. I have hundreds ready for you to activate.” shock and pride moved over my face at the quantity given.

“Hundreds? Well then, I’m glad to see you were able to take the essence I left you to keep working.” a huge smile etched over my face as I clapped my hands together in front of me.

“Yes Luna, it was very helpful once I was able to figure out how to wove it in.”

“Was there a problem at first?” a little confused as to why he couldn’t when I showed him before I left to see the elders.

“Well, once you left, it wouldn’t let me touch or come near it.” interrupting his comment with, “really? I wonder why?”

“It was like the essence knew it didn’t belong to me. It was very frosting. Everytime I went to do what you demonstrated it would float away from me. Well, at first anyway.” saying the last part more proud of himself that he figured it out.

“Well? How did you get it to work for you?” getting impatiently interested with the lack of moving the story along. All he did was chuckle slightly while wiggling his head before saying, “I just put on one of the new suits we enhanced. Once I did that… I was able to work.”

“It must have needed to sense itself before allowing you near it. Like the essence has a sense of what it is. Interesting.” saying aloud more to myself than him. Although he nodded in agreement.

“Well let’s get this done so I can get back and you can get the men their new uniforms.”

I stood at the other end of the long room gathering all the energies together. Andreas was standing behind the baseball cannon loading the suits. Once I started lifting off the ground, energy started to fill the room. He shot the suits from the cannon towards me in a flying rush. Sweeping my arms forward they became saturated in waves, absorbing all of it. Just before they hit the ground I froze them mid-air, activating that part of their defenses.

Andreas and I did this over and over for almost two hours to make sure all the new stealth uniforms were activated and ready for dispersal. Once they were, Andreas said he would disperse them amongst the warriors around the territory, starting with the Southern Border going up towards the North on the Western side returning on the Eastern terrain.

I told Andreas I wanted to make sure all warriors received them first, then we will make ‘something’ for regular members. I hope we have enough ready now for all warriors who are spread out across the pack territory. Thanking him, I took about a hundred back to the packhouse with me for the warriors who were there including one for Johnathon and Andrew. I made sure they both would get one too.

‘Timber where are you? We have a…. visitor, and your presence is being requested.’ I heard Johanthon say in our link. Why would I be needed for this visitor? He’s the Alpha.

‘At the Southern Border activating uniforms. We just finished up and I’m on my way.’ before he could respond I was standing in front of the pack house looking at a very confused Alpha and what appears to be a Vampire, Dragon shifter, and a… Fae?
