Chapter 9
~ Unknown POV
“Did you find her yet?” I asked in impatience and frustration. “No sir. But we seized prisoners from the Prairie Pack who might be able to tell us where she went.” With the great news I was just given, I smiled a mischievous smile and said “bring them to me. I want to question them... myself.” “Yes sir. Right away sir.” they left quickly, closing the door behind them.
If my spies have brought me what I want or closer to it this is going to be the start of a new life for me. I can almost smell and taste her sweet, delicious blood in my nostrils and mouth. I have been waiting oh too long for this breakthrough. I smirked when the prisoners came into the room.
“Well, well, well. What do we have here?” I say as I slithered around the prisoners in a circle like a vulture would its prey. They were terrified and it made me feel joyous and triumphant. They bowed and coward in fear. I love it. This is what I deserve. To be feared and respected in it.
“If you tell me what I want to know you will be released. To go back to your pathetic little pack.” I sneered at two of Alpha Marcus’ men kneeling on the floor before me while their hands were tied behind their backs with wolfsbane laced rope.
They started looking at me, then each other, then back at me questionably. I simply smiled gingerly at them and at my men who themselves were smiling back like they knew I was lying but not going to tell them that.
“You’re really going to just let us go?” questioning my truthfulness, “Of course!” I said sarcastically in a lie “once you answer my questions and give me what I want. You and your friend here are free to go. Just like that.” snapping my fingers at the latter part for effect.
“What do you want? And what kind of questions?” they asked, feeling a little braver thinking they would be released to go back home.
“Where is she?” confused they answered in unison “she? Who?” starting to lose a little patience I spoke a little more authoritatively.
“The girl. The chosen one to bare the mark of the Royals and Elders.” Looking at each other and me in confusion not understanding who exactly. “We do not know her.” “Liars!” I bellowed, making them shake and tremble.
Trying to get any information so they could tell me they said, “Tell us what she looks like and maybe we can tell you. Honestly, we do not know who you are talking about.”
I started laughing at their response “You expect me to believe that she lived in your pathetic little pack for years and you do not know her?” looking up to my men I nodded and said “kill them!” before I started walking away.
“No! No please! Please wait!” looking at each other in desperation and fear the only name that came to either of their minds was ‘Timber’ they mind-linked at the same time to each other. ‘Nobody likes her. She’s an orphan.’ ‘He won’t know the difference’.
They nodded in unison to each other and blurted out, “Her name is Timber!” “But she’s not with our pack anymore.” Fearing his response, the other said “That’s right! She’s been traded to the Graves Pack.” Shaking their heads up and down feverishly, feeling confident I will accept that answer in trade for their lives. They were wrong. Dead wrong.
“And… see; here I thought you didn’t know anything.” I chuckled an evil laugh as I continued “kill them anyway” I waved my hand in the air and walked out of the room nonchalantly looking like I had a mission to complete.
“No! You can’t do this!” “We told you what you wanted” “Please! Let us go!” is all I heard as my men slaughtered them in the hall as I walked through the back door.
“She’s in the Graves Pack now. And. Her name is Timber.” Speaking to the head of my new-found rogue army. He growled lowly at this because the Graves pack are not ones to mess with and all rogues knew this.
“Well, well then. Now we have a name. So, we can snoop a bout to see who this Timber is.” He sneered with an evil smirk. “Exactly.” I sneered back with an even more menacing smile slowly stretching across my determined face, as I narrowed my eyes in delight of finally getting the mate I have always deserved.
“Go! Send out some trackers just around the borders. I want to find out who she is.” I commanded him. “yes, sir.” He said as he nodded and left the room.
“Looks as if my precious Timber will soon be mine. Her and all that power she possesses.” laughing out loud as my plan and future starts to unravel before me. Now all I need to do is prepare for my mates’ arrival while my men scavenge for her. It won’t be long now.
