Chapter 82
THE KEYS jangled on Wil’s hand as he showed it to them. “I thought you have changed your keys,” he said, looking at Tamara. “I’m glad I still have the key.”
“To the door,” Thaddeus butt in. “You still have the key to the door.” He spread his hand in front of him. “Should I get the duplicate key?”
Wil knotted his forehead. “Why would I give my duplicate key to you?”
Thaddeus smirked. “Because I live here. And, you don’t.” He snatched the key from him. “And, besides, ex-boyfriends shouldn’t have duplicate keys on their ex-girl’s house. It’s not normal.”
Tamara cleared her throat. “Thaddeus has a point,” she agreed to him. “So thank you for bringing the key back here. I don’t have to make a duplicate key for him.”
“Where did you meet this guy, Tamara?” Wil asked loudly as if he were sitting in front of them.
“I found her—” Tamara jumped to his side and covered his mouth.
“Don’t you dare to mention it to him,” she warned him in between her teeth. “We met at the hospital. He worked as a MedTech, and he’s looking for an apartment. Since I live solo here and couldn’t pay for the rent anymore, I offered him to live with me—I mean, to move here so we could share for the rent.”
Thaddeus laughed, making Tamara remove her hand from his mouth. “I didn’t know that you wanted me to live with you.”
Tamara widened her eyes at him. “Shut up,” she hissed, then looked at Wil. “I’ll just change my dress, then we’ll leave.”
As soon Tamara closed the door of her room, Wil looked sharply at her. “Who are you? And, why you chose to live here?”
Thaddeus leaned on the couch. “You heard her. I’m her colleague in the hospital—”
“It’s not true, I know,” he cut off.
“Are you saying that you don’t believe her?” Thaddeus asked. He can’t believe that Tamara fell in love with this kind of guy. He’s egoistic, narcissistic, and dumbass. “Is that why she ends up breaking up with you because you don’t trust her?”
“You don’t know anything about us,” Wil said. “Whoever you are in Tamara’s life, I will win her back from you—”
“Wil, learn to fix your savings first,” he told him with a smirk. “Tamara doesn’t need a man that will be a burden to her.”
When Tamara stepped out in her room, Thaddeus thought that he won’t make Tamara change her mind. But he just hoped that she won’t say yes to him again. He sighed, now is the time that he needed that Mark to stop Tamara. He paused, should I call him? Thaddeus took out his phone and looked for Mark’s number. He hesitated to call him so he just sent him a message saying that if he’ll go here today to check on Tamara, reschedule it on the other day because she go out with a guy named Wil.
Thaddeus grinned from ear to ear as he tap the send button. “I’m sure he’ll follow the two of them,” he said then leaned on the settee. His eyes caught the joss papers hung on the ceiling. “I should clean this mess.”
He doesn’t want Tamara to go with that man, but he can’t just stop her or prevent her from seeing him. They don’t have a label, they kissed twice but according to her, it does not mean that they already have a relationship.
“I don’t get her,” he muttered while removing the joss papers. “One moment, she acted as if she’s so into me, then if I acted the same, she’ll turn back to being distant,” he told himself with a frown. “What’s with her?”
After removing all the joss papers and rock salts in the living room and kitchen, he then went to her room. Thaddeus’s nostrils were filled with Tamara’s perfume. He pursed his lips, she didn’t wear perfume when they went to Sky Ranch.
“Maybe she really doesn’t like me,” he mumbled, then stepped on her bed to snatch the joss paper. He felt something under his feet so he stopped to take a look at it. He lifted the blanket and saw an envelope. “What’s this?”

“I’M HAPPY that you’re here with me, Tamara.” Wil reached for her hand on the table. “I really missed you.”
Tamara forced a smile in her face. She’s happy too to be with Wil, but why does her mind keeps on thinking about the guy that she left at home? She sighed. Maybe she’s really starting to fall for him. But, she doesn’t want to be hurt. Shamans' lives are complicated and she doesn’t want to end up breaking with him because of it. Maybe they could stay like this forever? What if Thaddeus has to continue his journey around the world? He told her before that they’re just released from the temple to travel and enhance their skills. What if—?
“Tamara.” Wil squeezed her hand.
She blinked and looked at him. “Oh, sorry,” she said, embarrassed that he caught her staring at nowhere. “What were you saying again?”
“I’m asking you what do you want to order?” Wil asked and smiled. “Are you okay? You seemed preoccupied by something.”
“Yeah.” She smiled shyly. “I just received a job offer from the hospital that I applied to.”
“You applied? Why? What happened to the previous hospital that you’re in?”
He can’t even remember the name of the hospital where she worked first. And, he has no idea that she’s no longer working there because he never tried to visit her or even check on her in the ER.
“I got suspended,” she admitted. “They refused to tell me until when, so I resigned and find a new home.”
“What happened?” Wil asked, worriedly.
Tamara smiled bitterly. Wil doesn’t know anything that happened in her everyday life at the hospital because he was so busy at his work that he forgot she existed.
“Nothing serious,” she said, then smiled. “Let’s order now, so I could go home early—”
“Tamara, do you have an answer now?” Wil held her hand tightly. “Tamara, I need you in my life. I love you so much.”
“Where are you staying since we broke up?” she asked instead. “I don’t have any updates from you because I don’t know who to ask, you never introduced me to your friends.”
“I stay in my officemate’s apartment,” he said, then looked at her again. “Tamara, I promise—”
“I don’t want to hear your promises, Wil.” She pulled her hand from him. “I—” Her notification chat beeped. Thaddeus’s message saying that he has cleaned the house flashed on the screen. It beeped again, his message saying to bring him Mami flashed. A smile formed on her lips as she picked up her phone, but then she remembered that she was speaking to Wil. “Oh, as I was saying—”
“I think I already know the answer,” Wil told her with a sad smile on his face. “But, Tamara, you just met him. Will you just throw our six years relationship for a guy you just met?”
“Wil, I learned that I should not let anyone abuse my kindness,” she said with a smile. “And, the guy that I just met, he made me experience all the things that I thought never existed because I didn’t see them to you.”
“Tamara, I’m your first love—”
She looked straight into her ex-boyfriend’s eyes. “And, I regret it.”
