Chapter 87
“WHAT DO you mean I’m all over the internet?” Thaddeus asked Armand over the phone. “Did you tell dad that you didn’t find me here?”
“I haven’t spoken to your dad, Thaddeus,” Armand replied from the other line. Thaddeus can sense the anxiousness in his voice. “But I have a feeling that one of the men that he sent here in the Philippines reported that they saw somebody that looked like you.”
Thaddeus caught his head. “I shouldn’t be overly confident that they won’t follow me here,” he said and cursed under his breath. “I should have expected that it will come to their mind that I’ll visit mom’s homeland.” He faced the window and looked outside.
“I guess your father got the thought that you might go here because you once told them that you’re curious why he liked your Filipina mom,” Armand told him. The man was their long-time family friend. They grew up together until he got promoted and became his butler. “But Thaddeus, you have to be careful now. Your father posted it online that his heir gone missing and that he’ll give five thousand dollars reward on who will tell them where exactly you are.”
“Are they still up to that hilarious engagement?” he asked in furrowed brows. “Because if they are, I’d rather live the life of a commoner here than to get married. We’re in Millenium year now, they shouldn’t be doing this kind of lousy thing. We’re not in drama or TV series to do this.”
Thaddeus heard his butler laugh. “But you ran away as if you’re one of the male leads in the movies we’ve to watch before,” he said and made a ‘tss’ sound. “I haven’t seen the woman since you went missing. And, I guess your father has postponed the wedding. You’ve been missing for four months and your mom is dead worried about you.”
He sighed. “I miss my mom,” he said and glanced at his watch. “If she talked dad about it I wouldn’t run off from them. It was their fault too, they’re forcing me to get married.”
“They’re looking for you now, Thaddeus. And, I heard that he ordered to take you by force if spotted anywhere,” he said, his voice sounded worried. “I have talked to the Hospital Director and advised him to not tell anyone that he talked to you. I just hoped that he’ll keep his words.”
“Dr. Chang will do that.” He heaved a sigh. “And, I’m confident that Tamara will hide me—”
“About that, Thaddeus…” Armand cut off, he sensed hesitation in his voice. “Have you told her about your real identity?”
Thaddeus swallowed hard. “I-I haven’t tell her about it. And, I don’t know if I can admit the truth to her—”
“Thaddeus, who you’re talking to?”
Thaddeus quickly lowered his phone and turned to face Tamara. “H-how did you enter the house?”
Tamara knotted her forehead. “What? I used my keys,” she said and swayed the keys in front of him. “What phone are you using?”
Thaddeus showed him his phone. “Mine…” he said hesitantly. “How long have you been there?”
“Huh?” Tamara looked at him questioningly. “I just came in.” She looked at his phone. “You bought a new phone?”
Thaddeus knotted his forehead. He looked at his phone. “Ah… yeah, for clients.”
Tamara nodded her head. “I went home because you forgot your phone in my bag,” she said and took out his personal phone from her shoulder bag. “When did you buy a new phone? Is that the latest model? It looks expensive.”
Thaddeus slipped his phone in his pocket. “Nah, it’s just an entry-level phone,” he said and smiled at her awkwardly. “I thought you’re going to see Mark?”
Tamara jumped and hugged him. “Yeah, but he called me again and said that he’ll me see here because he’s still fact-checking something.”
“Fact-checking?” Thaddeus repeated in a knotted forehead. “Fact-checking what?”
Tamara pulled away and shrugged her shoulders. “I don’t know. He didn’t tell me. Mark’s been busy this past few days, he seldom called me now, whenever he has time, he’s sending me text messages asking me if I have eaten. Now—”
“Now, he’s not doing it because he knew that you already have someone that will do that forever,” Thaddeus finished and gave her lips feathery kisses. “Maybe he has figured out that I’m not really a gay and that we’re living together—”
Tamara covered his mouth and giggled. “It’s too early to say that, we’re just started dating.”
He hugged her back tightly and buried his face onto her neck. “For me, we’re more than that, and I want that Mark to know about us,” he whispered in her ear. “I don’t want to see you being alone with other guys.”
Tamara snorted. “It’s just Mark,” she said and pulled back from him. “I like you more than him.”
“But you like him?” he asked, pursing his lips.
“Of course, I like him as my friend,” Tamara said and giggled. “Are you jealous?” She cupped her face. “So this handsome face still feel jealous towards her nerdy girlfriend.”
“You aren’t nerdy for me,” he said and patted her head. “For me, you’re the most beautiful woman that I’ve seen in my entire existence…” he smiled. “… next to my mom.”
Tamara chuckled. “Okay, that’s fine with me, as long as I am on the second.” She tiptoed and kissed his lips.
He hugged her tightly and kissed her more passionately. “Tamara, I want to tell you something…”
“What is it?” She hooked her arm around his neck and pulled him closer. “I love you, Thaddeus.”
“I love you too,” he replied without taking his eyes off her. “And, I hope that your feelings won’t change even after I tell you this…” He held her hand. “Tamara…”
The door burst open. Mark entered and pulled Tamara away from him. “Stay away from that man, Tamara. He’s not the person that you think he is.”
