[IRIS'S POV]

Absentmindedly, I made my way back towards the president’s office after retrieving the files from Mr. Scott. I couldn’t stop thinking of the poor man who had sobbed in front of me. My mother once told me that only in desperate circumstances do men cry. I wondered how his family would take the news. Shaking my head, I realized I had to figure out how I was even to go about bringing this matter up to the president.

“Damn Iris! What were you thinking? You could have just offered him some money instead! You really think it’s going to be that easy to ask the nation’s leader for a favor? Oh, not to mention that it’s your first fucking day, you idiot!”

As I continued to curse myself, I pushed the heavy oak door open and stepped inside. My hazel eyes found the domineering man still at his desk. He looked like he was in deep thought as the tip of his index finger tapped his chin. I had to mentally shake myself to finally be able to pull my eyes away from him. Undisturbed by my presence, he kept his eyes on the computer monitor. I really could admire a man who was serious about his work. Being as young as he was, I am sure that he had to be extremely calculative to be the nation's leader while also handling his own companies. I was so lost in my observations; I didn't even notice when he shifted his gaze to me.

Arching his eyebrows, he called, “Miss Young?”

I snapped my head down to look at the floor and I could feel my cheeks burning hot. It took a minute, but I regained my composer. Then taking large steps, I stopped in front his desk and, with a thud, put the files down.

Clearing my throat, I stated, “Mr. Scott said that you need to sign these files fast, Mr. President. Without your signature, the project with L country will be postponed until next month. Today is the last date to submit the proposal.”

Immediately, he started to scribble his name on the forms without looking up at me.

“Is something wrong with you?” he inquired.

“Huh?” I responded.

I mentally face palmed myself. “What was that?” I thought.

He finally lifted up his eyes to meet me and just stared at me as if he was trying to read my thoughts. In no time at all, I became uncomfortable under his scrutiny.

Curling up his lips slightly, he said, “Your face is flushed. Is something the matter?”

“Oh, God! Why is he so observant?!” I thought.

I looked away and reflexively placed my hands on my cheeks in an attempt to cool off my face.

“N-no... I'm absolutely fine! It must be the weather. It's too hot in here today.”

I let out a nervous chuckle and started fanning myself with my hand to add authenticity to my story. Carefully shifting my eyes over to him, I saw him furrow his brows together as he glanced at the thermostat.

Turning back to face me, he had an amused smile playing on his lips.

“It's 24 degree Celsius inside my office, Miss Young.”

“....”

Shit! I completely forgot about the A/C that was blasting inside the office. How could I feel hot? I felt my face flush all over again with embarrassment. He kept his eyes fixed on me.

“Umm… Sir? I need to use the restroom. You carry on signing and I’ll be back in a moment.”

Quickly, I left without hearing his response while grabbing my purse. Reaching the restroom, I closed the door with a loud thud and locked it. Jeez! Jeez! This was so embarrassing and so unlike me! Putting down my purse on the vanity, I turned on the sink and splashed some cold water on my face. I looked up at my own reflection and rolled my eyes at my still burning cheeks.

“How could you feel so turned on that easily, Iris? Damn it!” I thought.

A frustrated sigh escaped my lips and I pulled open my purse to grab the little pocket perfume. I smirked as I remembered what Daisy had said when she gave it to me.

“This is considered to be one of the top best smelling perfumes across the world, Iris. It's called ‘Valerie's Seduction’ and the shop owner promised me that it will attract any man’s attention with just one squirt. How about that!? Don’t forget to let me know how well it works,” she said with a wink.

“This had better work or you are dead meat, Daisy,” I thought.

Spraying it all over me, I looked at myself again. Thankfully, the cold water from the tap had helped at reducing the color in my cheeks. Letting out a tired sigh, I cheered up a bit and walked out of the restroom with my head held high. I stopped in front of his desk and offered him a sweet smile, which he missed because his eyes never left the papers that he was attentively studying.

Without looking up, he ordered, “Get me out the seal, Miss Young. It should be in the drawer.”

Looking down, I spotted three drawers. I found what he wanted in the second drawer. Pulling it out, I noticed the beautiful craftsmanship of the seal. Turning to hand it to the president, I tripped. I let out a surprised cry as my feet bumped against his office chair and my whole weight fell down over him. Bracing myself for the hit against the marble floor, I felt a pair of strong arms wrap around me which saved me from falling. My breath caught in my throat.

“Foolish!” he snapped right next to my ear.

I flinched at his harsh tone and my eyes shot open and glanced up at him. He was looking down at me with a scowl.

“Oh fuck, I’m dead. So. Very. Dead.” I thought.

I saw that my hand had landed on his should and was gripping his suit so tightly that it winkled when I let go. This was so awful and uncomfortable. How the hell was I going to come back from this?

“I'm sorry! I'm so dreadfully sorry! I-I didn't mean it!” I said in a panic.

It surprised me that his features darkened even more after my apology. Maybe he was just too angry? However, I wanted to crawl in a hole and die when I saw his nose suddenly twitch.

“Miss Young, when did you put on perfume?” he asked hoarsely.

I swallowed hard and took the opportunity to get one step closer to accomplishing my mission. Patting his shoulder coquettishly, I said, “Umm… I put it on earlier. Doesn’t it smell so good, Mr. President? It has the pure smell of roses.”

I felt his body instantly stiffen.

Holding his breath, he spat out, “I'm allergic to strong smells!”

“....”

Damn it! I quickly went to roll off his lap with the hopes that he wouldn’t start going to into anaphylactic shock. However, he tightened his hold on me. Confused by his action, I looked up at him.

His eyes narrowed down at me.

“Should I assume that Miss Young has purposefully used her perfume to try and seduce me? Hmm?” he inquired.

My eyes went wide in surprise and my confidence dramatically dropped. Oh, how I just wanted to get away from this narcissistic person. But, I kept hearing the old man’s desperate pleas in the back of my head. I looked up at him and held his intense gaze.

“What if I am?” I mumbled.

“For what reason?”

His curt reply made me even more nervous. I cleared my throat to keep my composure.

“You should forgive him. T-the man from earlier, I mean. He, as well as his family, will be destitute without any hope of recovery.”

“So, now you’re playing the saint that’s come to intercede on his behalf?” he asked–a smirk forming on his lips.

“Ha! Whatever you say!” I growled.

“Well, that's not an attitude to ask for a favor, Miss Young. Tell me, one reason why I should listen to you?”

He looked at me with an amused expression. I was seething.

“Ugh… this prick! Whatever, I’ll just flatter him more.” I thought. Then out loud, I said, “You’re the leader of this nation and a little forgiveness toward the people you’re responsible for should be natural. Right?”

“Nope.”

“I…Umm… Well then I... What can I do then?” I incoherently stuttered.

He took a while to think it over and then I saw him break into smug smile.

“I’ll give you three days to impress me. If you can accomplish that, then I will consider it.” he said.

Suppressing my rage, I gritted my teeth.

“Fine, now let me go.”

A second later he dropped me and my ass hit the hard marble floor. I glared up at him and then he had the audacity to act like he did nothing wrong! He smiled down at me.

“You said to let go...”

“Fuck you! You freaking sadist!” I inwardly cursed.
