Chapter 32 ______ Kissed A Girl?
Chapter 32
Kissed a Girl
[Iris’s POV]
I was somewhat confused by his command. But before I could respond, a gasp escaped from my lips as I felt his hand slip under my shirt. I shivered. This was getting to be too much. His cold fingers brushed against my skin as he deepened the kiss. I moaned louder and moved my hands from the counter to his shoulders. My heart was thudding against my chest and I began to worry if I was going to faint from the lack of air. He pulled back a bit and whispered, “Breathe, Iris.”
After a few harsh breaths, he resumed sucking and gently tugging on my lips. My mind went blank and I fervently returned his kiss. He let out a throaty groan as his fingers traced the lace that lined my bra. It was a recent purchase so it was still snug over my breasts. I smiled as he tried to slide his hand inside of the garment. That wasn’t going to work. Not with this one. Feeling my smile, he pulled back. A wicked glint lit his eyes as both of his hands travelled to my back.
“W-wait,” I whispered in shock.
He unclasped my bra within seconds and my face flushed as my breasts escaped the tightly fitted fabric. I glanced up at him. He was breathing hard and hungrily gazing down at me. His left hand brushed over my chest and cupped my breast as he wrapped his right arm around my waist. He squeezed and I let out a loud cry of pleasure.
The banging on the door immediately stopped. I glanced over at the door as Xavier mercilessly continued with his ministrations. He didn’t seem to notice how quiet it had gotten. He continued to squeeze and then rubbed his thumb over my nipple. Another series of pleasurable moans escaped through my lips and I could feel him smile in triumph as he trailed kisses down my neck. This must be what sheer pleasure felt like and if I wasn’t careful; I was bound to get addicted.
Vaguely, I heard the footsteps of the men outside starting to recede but Xavier didn’t stop. The realization that he might not have any plans of stopping hit me so hard that I pushed him away. Taking a few deep breaths, I glanced over at him. For a moment he looked confused as he staggered backwards. Then he straightened and looked at me. His eyes were still blazing with arousal and desire.
“Oh my god,” I muttered.
How could I have let this happen? I’m not the type of girl to mess around with her boss. But, apparently, I just did. Feeling embarrassed and humiliated, I fumbled around to fix my bra and straightened my clothes. Lowering down my gaze, I whispered, “They’re gone now.”
He looked stunned as if he momentarily forgot the reason of why we were in here in the first place. Parting his lips to say something, he suddenly looked away from me and shoved his hands into his pockets. I gathered from his perplexed expression that his was already regretting his impulsive decision to kiss me. However, to be fair, we were both acting on impulse. Why couldn’t I just say no to him? I reached up and lightly touched my lips. His kiss had driven me senseless and I had wanted to drown in those feelings of pleasure that he had sparked inside of me. However, right now, all I wanted to do was escape this awkward situation.
Quickly, I hopped down from the counter and strode towards the door.
“Miss Young! Um, th-that was only because—”
I stopped and whirled around with clenched fists. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. This man… I was going to be truly pissed if he uttered one more word. I already felt bad enough. He didn’t have to make it worse by explaining things.
Snapping my gaze up to meet his, I said, “I understand, Mr. President. You were only using me to get rid of Mr. Brighton. I’m not going to hold this over your head or anything. In fact, it would be best if we both pretended it never happened. I’m just your secretary after all.”
I twirled around and pulled open the door and left him standing there with a shocked expression on his face. Did he think I was an idiot? I’m fully aware of my position and I also know my own limitations. Still, I couldn't bear to hear him stumbling out excuses or regrets for kissing me. It was better that I cleared up the misunderstanding first. I was done with hearing harsh words regarding my actions. Striding down the hallway, my eyes burned and an unwanted tear rolled down my cheek. Cursing under my breath, I jerked open my room door and slipped inside.
[Xavier’s POV]
It seemed as if I was rooted to the floor as I watched her walk out of the room. Something uncomfortable pricked my chest and I suddenly felt a little disgusted with myself. I shouldn't have done that to her. It was a comfort to know that she wasn’t the type of woman to hold this over my head and I highly doubted that she would take this situation as a sign of interest. But, I would be the world’s biggest liar if I said that I didn't enjoy kissing or touching her. She seemed to fit me perfectly. The most shocking aspect of this whole ordeal was that I didn't feel my usual trauma that I always experienced after touching a woman. That alone surprised me at first and then I just… got lost? If not for her pushing me away, I wouldn't have broken that kiss. A small smile formed on my lips as I thought, “And perhaps… continued towards the next step.”
However, after seeing her expression as she straightened her clothes, I wanted to instantly apologize for my improper behavior. My brows knitted together as I thought of her cold words. I mean, everything she said was true. But, when she so candidly pointed out that I had just used her for my own means, I immediately felt like a scumbag. Scumbag? What the hell? That woman produced too many emotions for me to handle or control. And if there’s one thing I hated; it was not being in control.
My eyes roved around the bathroom. I froze as my eyes spotted the women’s restroom sign.
“Oh, fuck’s sake!”
I stomped toward my belongings, pulled on the black hoodie and shoved the gun into the waistline of my jeans. Quietly stepping out into the hall, I headed straight for my room.
As I opened the door, I let out a ragged breath. Walking into my room, I glanced towards my bed. Sleep sounded amazing right about now.
“Finished playing?”
With my hand on my gun, I turned toward the voice. Seeing the man lounging on my couch and drinking my finest liquor; my expression relaxed a bit.
I shook my head and chuckled. “You scared the hell out of me, Daniel. How did you even get in here?”
He sipped his drink and replied, “Receptionist, my dear president. She lent me a spare key. Everyone knows who I am anyway.”
Taking off my shoes, I glanced over at him. I rolled my eyes when I saw that he was wearing his favorite white suite. It made him look more like a playboy than a businessman.
“He’s gotten thinner,” I thought.
Daniel Collins and I took over the political party after my father retired, who planned to spend the remainder of his life overseas. I remember how sudden it all was. Hell, he never even mentioned retiring. He just made the decision one day and all of his responsibilities fell on me. Daniel was there to support me through it all. We had always been best friends and I viewed him more like a brother than a colleague. He’s been the closest person throughout my career and we both shared the weight of carrying the responsibilities of the party. He also ran his own entertainment agency, which aggravated me to no end. However, I never dissuaded him and even helped him during his start up as much as possible.
The thought of our earlier days mad me chuckle as I plopped down on the bed. With all of the fighting amongst the people who were aiming for both of our political and social standing, our bond was truly unbreakable.
He lifted a brow and asked with concern, “You okay, Xavier? Did that idiot hurt you?”
I gave him a sarcastic look as I let out a dry laugh. “You really think that he had the guts to fight back? He’s just an old windbag who makes empty threats with nothing to back them up.”
Daniel smirked and took another sip from his drink. Then looking at me again, he tilted his head slightly and asked, “Then why are you acting weird? Did something happen? Are your mom and sister alright?”
I laid back on the bed and stared at the ceiling. Closing my eyes, I remembered how Iris felt in my arms. I sighed and then mumbled, “I-I kissed… a girl.”
I felt my face flush as I heard Daniel’s snicker, which in a matter of seconds turned into hearty laughter!
