"It's your turn!"
My brother Rian stared at me demandingly and even though he was now the father of a really sweet little princess, his black hair was perfect as always and even the suit looked impeccable. But that was all because Keeva was a real power woman.
"Why me?" I wanted to know and looked at him annoyed, but he held out a diaper and I hated the Mondays where Keeva went shopping with Odran, because somehow Rian really managed to make me sick of it every time had to change smelly diapers.
"Because I say so," he just grinned stupidly and then disappeared from the room while I looked at Esme, diaper in hand, who was also watching me with her green eyes.
It won't be that bad...
I opened her body a bit awkwardly to then open the full diaper and by God, as the smallest brother of a mafia family I had really experienced a lot of bad things, but this was pure torture.
"Oh god, Esme," I moaned in frustration, trying to breathe only through my mouth. I quickly changed her diaper, powdered her ass and was very happy when this whole spectacle was finally over.
"I like you a lot better this way, little one," I winked, fleetingly contemplating throwing that fucking full diaper right at Rian's head, but Keeva would probably cut my head off for that.
Yes, exactly, Keeva. Not Rian as one would think. Ever since the baby was born, Keeva had truly become the head of the house and we obeyed like puppets. Outside the house, of course, Rian was still in charge, at least that's what he thought...
I tossed the diaper in the trash, carefully picked Esme up in my arms, and then walked out of the nursery that used to be Keeva's room to find the ground floor where Rian was sitting on his laptop.
He wore his glasses again and looked like 10 years older, which made Keeva sharp like the neighbor's lumpi... It's awful to have them around all the time when you're feeling so lonely...
"Here, she's clean," I held out his daughter to him, who he smiled and took on his lap before devoting one hand to the laptop while he held her stomach with the other.
mafia boss? that I don't laugh...
"We're back!" I heard Keeva behind me and turned around to be shown the same image as every Monday.
Odran, the two meter giant came panting behind the 1.60 small Keeva through the front door and put down what felt like 10 different bags to take a deep breath.
"Where have you been for so long?" Rian asked immediately, getting up to run to Keeva with Esme on his arm, but Odran quickly pushed his way between the two, almost possessively snatching Esme from his hand.
"My princess," he laughed, and Esme also seemed to love Odran more than the rest of us. No wonder.
During the pregnancy and the weeks afterwards, Odran behaved almost worse than our Doberman Nero. He was constantly buzzing around Keeva as if he were her personal bodyguard and at the slightest ailment of hers, he would jump up like a tarantula to do her some good.
By now he could almost bake and cook better than her...
But you should still not underestimate him, no matter how cuddly he was with the family, because I saw him come home often enough with bloodstained clothes and even if Keeva or Rian didn't see it out of sheer happiness, I recognized Odran the look in his eyes when he took someone's life.
Which is really not uncommon lately.
Since a year ago Keeva killed Yuri, the Russian mafia boss and craziest wanker I'd ever met, we were on constant alert. Odran, of course, with his natural protective instinct more than I, because I was the least involved with all the business.
"Yes!" Keeva interrupted my thoughts, who was tying her brown hair into a ponytail and looking at Rian admonishingly. "Padraig becomes godfather and with it Basta!"
"Why not Odran?" Rian asked, pointing to the big one, who didn't notice anything because of his cuddles with Esme.
"Because Odran sees her every day! I see Padraig when it comes up once a week and if he were godfather he would have a much closer relationship with her! Rian, I won't argue any further. Padraig will be godfather and that's over now."
She walked past me, smiled mildly at me and disappeared upstairs while I raised an eyebrow at Rian, whose anger was written all over his face, but he didn't stand a chance against her strong will anyway.
"Well, eggs successfully separated," I grinned stupidly at him, but he just gave me a warning look and turned back to the dining table to continue working on his laptop.
And so almost every day was the same here, which somehow made me feel more and more superfluous. I didn't have a job or a task, and I didn't have the feeling that I was really needed here.
So I made the decision to do more with Jake again... No one could have known beforehand that through him and our underground parties I would put myself and my whole family in danger...
