When I woke up bathed in sweat, there was no trace of Mandy and this bitter realization made me take a deep breath before I got up powerlessly from my couch and looked for the way to the bathroom.
"Where's my Porsche?" Odran caught me and I looked at him with wide eyes and managed a stupid grin that probably made him even more irritated.
"I left it at Jake's. I'll pick it up later. Don't worry," I replied and he just rolled his eyes in annoyance.
"Do you know what your problem is?" he said, standing close in front of me. "You always think only of yourself and take full advantage of the trust others give you."
"Thanks for the therapy session!" I replied, angry at his words, and immediately disappeared into the bathroom, slamming the door behind me. I really wanted to dump his stupid Porsche in the sea, but I knew how important it was to him, so I dismissed the dark thoughts and contemplated my reflection.
Looking into my eyes, I turned on the cold water and held my hands under it for a while before grabbing my toothbrush and brushing my teeth before removing my shirt and washing up.
My body still looked the same as before, but I felt different, as if it had become a stranger to me.
"You're an idiot!" I suddenly heard Keeva yelling in the hallway and was glad that for once I wasn't meant.
Curious, I opened the door and watched Keeva stomping past me to her room.
"Keeva!" Rian spoke loudly and just came up the stairs to stop in front of me and glance at me.
"Morning," he said coolly, letting his irises scurry across my face until they met my eyes and his otherwise cold expression changed for a moment. "Can we talk right now?" he asked so sympathetically that it scared me.
What happened to that? And that's when it dawned on me... If Keeva had simply told Mandy, then maybe Rian had too, because something about the way he was looking at me was completely new.
"Sure," I answered as calmly as I could, and then watched him walk to his bedroom door and pound on it.
"Get off to your oh-so-fabulous new secretary!" I heard Keeva through the door, exhaling a sigh of relief when I realized luckily it wasn't about me.
A load fell from my shoulders and I happily ran down the stairs to the first floor, where Odran was pacing back and forth on the phone and a woman I didn't know was sitting at the dining table sorting through paperwork. What also immediately caught my eye was the fact that Odran kept glancing at her while holding the phone to his ear with one hand and nervously fiddling with his black shirt with the other.
I didn't let the whole chaos deter me and just wanted to go to the kitchen, but halfway there Odran suddenly grabbed my arm, gave me a menacing look and held his mobile phone to his upper body.
"At least put on a pair of pants and a shirt!" he said almost menacingly and when I looked down at my boxer shorts he followed my gaze until he glanced back at the woman at the table.
"Are you serious?" I wanted to know and couldn't help but grin. Although Odran was a really athletic and good-looking guy, he usually had almost no interest in women at all. Fuck and send on... A muffin would probably be in better hands with him than a woman, but for the first time I saw something like jealousy in his eyes.
"Yes, I'm serious!"
I was still grinning stupidly and was about to go upstairs when the doorbell rang and Odran walked over to open it.
"Baaaaaby," I heard Irina's shrill voice and immediately jumped in shock while she ran towards me and wanted to jump into my arms.
I quickly took a step to the side and she fell headfirst over one of the chairs to hold her head while sitting on the floor.
"Are you serious?" Odran turned to me and I took a deep breath and helped Irina up again, who gave me a beastly look.
"Next time, will you catch me," she whispered menacingly in my ear and I looked her up and down without expression.
"I'd rather push you off a cliff personally than even catch you once," I breathed, getting a dirty grin from her in return as her hand traveled down my back and I quickly grabbed her wrist.
"Irina?" came a question from Rian, who eyed the blonde curiously and hardly seemed to believe that she was standing in front of him.
"Oh Rian," she sobbed like the greatest actress and threw herself into my brother's arms. "What my brother wanted to do to you. I'm sorry in my heart."
You filthy hypocrite!!!
"Irina, that wasn't your fault," Rian replied encouragingly and I could hardly believe what was happening here. My gaze fell behind me to Odran, who seemed to have finally struck up a conversation with the woman at the table.
"What are you doing here anyway?" Rian's question tore me out of my rigidity and at the same moment I felt Irina's hand intertwined with mine.
"Didn't your brother tell you anything?" Irina said in surprise, giggling tossing her ugly blond hair over her shoulder while adjusting her brown dress. "We're stuck together."
Rian looked at me in bewilderment and I would have loved to have fallen into a deep sleep forever and never woken up again. I was unable to move, unable to say anything and after Rian still confusedly wished us all the luck in the world, Irina pulled me up by my hand.
"Which is our room?" she asked standing in the hallway and then it was me who roughly grabbed her wrist and yanked her into my room.
When I got there, I closed the door and looked at her hatefully.
"What do you want here?" I asked her, stunned by her brazen behavior and she immediately wanted to take my hand, but I pulled her back and warned her. "Touch me and I'll hurt you so much you'll wish I had just shot you!"
"Daaaaaarling," she smirked, rolling her eyes theadrally. "I thought by now you understood what's at stake."
"I don't give a shit," I replied, and suddenly, without warning, the door opened.
"I heard a woman's voice. Is Mandy there?", she asked when entering and then looked questioningly at Irina. "Senan, please tell me who that is immediately!", she said angrily and before I could even answer, Keeva attacked Irina and yanked her to the ground!
Fuck!
