While Emilio left me alone in this very cold-looking living room and disappeared through another door, I hesitantly walked to the yellow couch and suddenly discovered several framed photos on the wall there.
Curious and cautious at the same time, I knelt on the sofa and looked up at the images, which threatened to stir my emotions when I saw them.
There he was, with the same beautiful aura that he still possessed, but there she was too. A beautiful girl by his side and the radiance they both had in their eyes as they looked at each other happily nearly broke my heart into a thousand pieces.
It must have been his fiancee...
A sideways cough startled me slightly and I looked at him apologetically as I turned away from that fateful wall and sat down on the sofa.
"I didn't mean to be prying," I tried to explain nervously, but when our eyes met again and he walked towards me with some clothes in his hands, I couldn't see a spark of anger in his eyes. So he probably didn't care if I knew about his fiancee. It was just a game for him, or worse, he just felt sorry...
Pity the woman who had helped him before and now he had me on his cheek...
"I'm sure that's more comfortable than Hector's shirt," he smiled down at me, holding out a white t-shirt and dark trousers. I looked at the things briefly and then looked up at him thoughtfully. Something in me balked at the thought that he was being so loving to me out of pity. There had to be more to it than that... Just the way his brown eyes were studying me. The depth of these looks was gigantic and certainly not meant to just want to cheer me up.
"Emilio?" I said his name quietly and bravely got up from the sofa to then stand right in front of him. "You know you're under no obligation to take care of me?"
He seemed completely irritated by my statement and that was exactly the reaction I was hoping for. If he had only intended to bring me here to ensure my safety, he would have felt caught by now. But he didn't and that meant to me that he wanted me here of his own accord, close to his side, even if his fiancee seemed to be watching us through the pictures.
But one look into his eyes and I forgot her and her existence...
"Yes, I know that," he replied, still perplexed, and I glanced at the small scar on his eyebrow, which seemed somehow noticeable as soon as he raised his brow. I found them fascinating, just like everything else about him.
"That's fine then," I breathed calmly and took the things carefully in my hands, but suddenly our fingertips touched and we both, overwhelmed by these dangerous sparks between us, let go of the clothes so that they fell on the red between us carpet fell.
"Sorry," I mumbled immediately, embarrassed, but the flashes he sent through my body with his touch were just terrifying.
I was about to bend down for the things, but he squatted down in front of me and picked everything up neatly, only to get up again immediately with his gaze fixed on my eyes, while I was already feeling a bit dizzy from his so familiar sight . It was scary what he triggered in me just by looking at him and unfortunately I didn't know how to deal with it at all, especially since there was already someone at his side...
"You should be more careful," he suddenly said seriously and handed me the things again, but when I looked into his eyes, slightly panicked at his sudden sternness, such a beautiful smile unexpectedly lay on his lips that I was the only one to remember the smile that was given to me sight blushed and I was more than embarrassed again.
"Okay, I'll do it," I stuttered awkwardly, grabbing my things and just wanting to flee past him quickly, but he quickly grabbed my arm and pulled me back to his side, which made my heart race and mine Breathing stopped instantly with excitement.
Very slowly I turned my face to his, so I could watch with extreme tension as he looked at me in amusement and let my eyes wander longingly over his lips, which he probably didn't miss.
"Isalie," he breathed my name and almost drove me completely crazy, my name sounded so beautiful on his tongue, but then he let me go unexpectedly and pointed past me with a loving smile. "The bathroom is over there."
Ouch!
With a bright red head, I turned like a robot in the direction he was pointing and quickly disappeared behind the white door, only to find my sanity again when I arrived in the small bathroom.
"He's got a fiancé!" I hissed, overwhelmed by all these new sensations, slapping my forehead lightly as if to banish him from my mind. Little did I know then that it was my heart that would never let him go...
I took a moment to look at the small room. Examined a small, white shelf next to the door and realized with confusion that there were hygiene products for children, which immediately made me wide-eyed.
Did he already...
"Oh God," I breathed, startled, wanting to confront him immediately. I certainly would not become a woman who would tear a family apart. Bad enough that he made me feel that way even though he was engaged. This playing with fire wasn't going to be my first experience with a man, no matter how magically I was attracted to him.
With trembling hands, I quickly pulled on the dark pants and just tucked in Hector's shirt to put the shirt in the sink and open the door again.
He always stood in the same spot as before, however he had already removed his shirt and delighted me with the view of his exposed tattooed back.
The memory of our first encounter came fleetingly to me and I almost let it put me into a kind of trance, but I quickly shook my head, regained my senses and ran straight towards him full of energy.
"I just want the truth! Do you have kids?!" I asked bluntly and he immediately turned to me, frowning in irritation at my statement.
"Excuse me?" he acted ignorant and I crossed my arms, but before that I pointed to the bathroom.
"There's children's shower stuff and it's totally fine. I mean, it's none of my business, even if I really-"
I stopped myself because I was shocked to see in which direction this was developing and he didn't make it easier for me either, because he came towards me with a grin and glanced at the bathroom, only to then set his sights on me again.
"What did you want to say?" he asked quietly, getting so close that I could feel his breath on my lips, but I didn't flinch. There was no fear of him. Don't panic at his touch... Just wanting more, but again it was him who broke away from my gaze and took a step back. "Hector uses this apartment. It must be his nieces' belongings. I have no children," he explained calmly, turning his back on me to pull something out of his jacket and place it on the couch.
Realizing curiously that it was a gun, I turned again, wide-eyed, to the bathroom and disappeared into it.
I believed him, there was nothing else I could do and my naive heart really hoped that he wouldn't lie to me.
